Another nerf Dead Hard Topic
It should either let you dodge a hit or give you distance, not both. It throws everything the killer did half the time in the trash with a click of a button, and survivors think they're so skilled with it lol. Most used perk in the game and over powered, wonder why.

Why not just wait and see what BHVR reveals will be changing about Dead Hard? Like, I agree with your assessment, but they don't need convincing that the perk needs to be changed. They've already announced a change is coming.

I feel like these threads are pretty redundant and pointless now we know that the big 40-perk meta shakeup is coming.

Yeah! They announced that it, along with about 40ish other perks are getting some manner of change during an update sometime "later this summer" - so either midchapter in July or along with the September chapter, I assume.
Speculation abound about what the new dead hard will be, but personally I think I'm content to lean on some of BHVR's previous statements that suggest a complete reinvention of the perk to move it away from needing to be timed within the window of a killer's lunge.

Its is clear that dead hard is probably the most overpowered perk we had in 6 years of existence.
However, I'm not sure they will address it correctly. I hope its not a change that ends being a buff.

Right, but they've had years of the "input". Whatever they're doing, they're gonna do it; if it's a bad change then by all means, keep complaining on the forums, but right now just saying "DH bad" is kinda pointless.
Also it's not undetermined, we have their goal for when they want it to be out if it's all ready.

No it's not, we don't know what they doing with the perks yet or if it will change anything or if they have DH even on the list to change. So no sir

There's no way Dead Hard isn't on the list. It was actively acknowledged as a problem in a QnA, it'd be insanity to do a meta perk shakeup and not tackle the literal most used perk in the entire game, especially one causing as many as this one is.

Watch the anniversary stream, they were pretty clear about which perks they were looking at. Not only is this thread redundant for the purposes of discussing DH, it offers no new ideas or suggestions. You could have gone to any previous DH thread, seen your suggestion 5 times over, and called it a day.

Adding to the chorus of voices saying it's problematic for the worst killers in the game is valuable. Feedback is feedback and redundant feedback only reinforced how badly the perk needs changes.
Also my confidence that they can/will change it in any meaningful way is basically nonexistent.

Yeah like, I don't see what change the feedback could motivate at this point. Ditto for all the NOED/camp/tunnel/slug/bp grind/prestige chatter. Not to say that the feelings are invalid but until we see (and spend a week or two playing with) the changes aimed at shaking up the meta and whatever base game changes they're introducing aimed at further pushing us away from reforming the same meta we have now, it seems weird to me to spend much energy assembling to discuss these things in any way other than speculating on what the changes will be.

I'll type my input until maybe they change it so it's not "redundant" to me, but what is redundant is definitely the people who know it's overpowered and then still use it and and defend it, which is also in the threads you speak of.

I mean, it's in the game and not an exploit, so it's fair game so far as I'm concerned. Even them announcing they plan to change it doesn't really place some kind of immoral standard on using what's available - even in a coordinated manner.
Sometimes using what's available in the more egregious way possible is the catalyst to see it changed quickly (see boon effects stacking, boil over leading to unwinnable scenarios for the killer, etc)

Just for reference here's the devs' big blog post about the upcoming perk and base game changes. They do specifically say that " Nearly 40 perks (exact number to be confirmed), including all the META Perks listed above, will undergo changes," and note that Dead Hard is one of those meta perks that was listed.
They haven't said what changes they're making to Dead Hard or other perks, or what changes they're making to base game play, so it'll be interesting to see the details. But it's almost certain Dead Hard is getting nerfed somehow because it's statistically so powerful in terms of helping escape rates. (The devs mentioned even prior to this big perk update announcement that they weren't happy with Dead Hard's stats, it's just that its changes are being wrapped up in this much broader perk overhaul rather than being a separate item.)
