It's been 1/4th of a year and the Nurse's range addons are still bugged.
Please, for the love of God, fix these addons or disable them. Every time I go against nurse using them it's just GG. She's unstoppable. Instant, undodgeable blinks. I don't play the game in a 4-man sweat squad but even if I did I don't think it would make a difference. A nurse who can land blinks using these addons simply can't be beat, and even an otherwise mediocre nurse using them is guaranteed a 3k.

These addons increase its range from 20 to 30 meters.
Now, when a nurse performs a long distance tp, this is when using a double-back can hurt her the most.
So ... double back ?
Besides, you say yourself that you don't play in a team.
So you can't say "The nurse is too strong" if on the one hand she optimizes her game while on the other hand survivors don't play in a team. That's a little too easy.
(besides, being in a team doesn't even necessarily mean being better than two groups of two, for example; some players who play alone sometimes get amazing results)
I don't agree that a mediocre nurse using these add-ons necessarily makes a 3K.
If that's the case, it's because the team has been hanging out on the generators, nurse has been hard-camping/tunneling/and snowballing everyone, or the survivors she's been facing have been ... mediocre, too ...

maximum travel time = 1.5 seconds
Longer distance + maximum travel time = faster blink over all because it all changes to fit in that 1.5 second window

I don’t even think the range is the problem with these addons, It’s the speed.

If a nurse is walking, then as they're slower than a survivor the survivor can easily make distance on them - so they can't gain bloodlust for example. Then when they do blink - you have options as a survivor about which way to go, whether you double back, or have gained enough distance where you know the blink will be inaccurate.
If a nurse is walking, sorry but chances are they are not a good nurse and are wasting a lot of time, and are going to fail to pressurise the gens.

Thats what a lot of nurses do, they try to zone you, then, they walk, make you with no options, and get a easy blink, or they just blink when she gets vision on you, sorry but, nurse isn't hard to play if you get that tip

That's extremely easy to outplay by holding W and not trying to loop as a survivor. You gain more distance on the Nurse - as she's slower, and force her to blink, there's also more ability to lose line of sight, which is the greatest weapon against a Nurse.

Sometimes the nurse will be in the middle of the map, and the survivor will not looking foward, they will try to not lose nurse's position, and sometimes they will not realize they will be on the edge of the map, and btw, range is ridiculous, the blinks are so fast, removing any possibilities to react, nurse without range is good, but with range is just pain

So the survivor not being aware of their surroundings is the fault of the Nurse player? I'm sorry going to disagree entirely here, Survivors need to be aware of where they are in the map as well as the limitations and strengths of their opponent. If a survivor doesn't realise they're on the edge of a map they're pretty much done for against any killer.

Loop any killer on the edge of the map is good to give the others survivors to do the generators, even the nurse, the strategy to get down on the edge of the map is viable against any killer, loop a nurse on the middle of the map is suicide because some maps there are nothing to do with, just tress or rocks, on the edges there are like, structures to use it, thats why is always godd to use that structures

Invariably there's very little on the edge of a map to correctly loop with, limited in the way of pallets etc usually only single vaulted areas etc (except on some rare maps). And as a Survivor, if you're trying to loop a nurse on the edge of a map then that's a massive misplay. Regular looping doesn't work against a Nurse, you have to play differently against her. And I'd disagree that looping any killer in a corner of a map is good play, as there's so little to work with.

You say any killer, when it just got explained that it is not effective against Nurse. You cannot expect that the same stradegie works on every killer. If it would, we only had one.

When we inquired about the Nurse add-on, we received the following response.
I am happy to report that while I received a response that "using that add-on is a glitch and subject to ban," I also received a response from a Japanese official that "there is no add-on that accelerates the speed in nurse, so there is no problem using it.
We are wondering if this is not recognized or shared within the official, or if this happened for other reasons.

@MandyTalk Since I saw you were responding to this forum post: Is there a chance we could get an official "statement" regarding the range add-ons - are they bugged like OP said or is it intended that Nurse gets a faster blink with more range? Thanks for answering! :)

We are definitely not banning for the use of addons, I do not even have a bug report in on the addons, that I can see - not one that's confirmed as a bug.
And we wouldn't ban for the use of addons now that we have the killswitch, if something is bugged to the point that it's super ubusable then we would indeed killswitch this addon. So you are completely correct BrokenSoul.

I don't understand the comments in this thread
The killer player is not a bot, they will put you in situations where you're easy to catch. Everything Adam is talking about makes sense and it's honestly frightening how much pushback their getting.
- As The Nurse holding your power mid-chase until you have LOS on a surv is extremely common and is considered good play
- Getting zoned out by the killer is not a misplay on the surv's part, it's one of the major drawbacks of holding w
- Running to the very edge of the map to break LOS or mind gaming behind a z wall or other singular structures is unwise but, it can reduce pressure and prevent slugging

Seriously people, I REALLY want to see a video of you playing against a nurse.
I REALLY want to see you (the survivors) in action.
I'm sure it will show the basic grumpy survivor starter pack: straight line / no looking back / waiting behind the paddles like it's an M1 killer in front.
@MandyTalk Please do me a favor: tell me that one of the next killers will be a killer with a completely innovative displacement patern, like the nurse, I so want to see people complaining that "Oh help, he's too strong", without trying to learn how to fight it! 😍

Isn't nurse lunge still 150% speed while walking so if she is enough close she is dangerous and can hit you.

@MandyTalk Ok so when using the range addons the Blink traveling speed is increased. This wasn’t a thing until 5.7.0 patch or so.

Range addon increases range and requires you to charge the blink for longer, nowhere it is written that it slows down your travel speed.
It's the same unwritten effect like Spirit's duration addon where no matter what you'll always require 10s to get 100% of your power even though your power is 125% now.
Nurse's blinks always take 1,5s to reach the endpoint when fully charged and with a 30m blink she travels faster to keep the 1,5s rule intact.

That's not what I meant by holding your power as Nurse, I apologize. My first point was referring to when a Nurse simply walks into an advantageous position without charging their power.

Thats not a bug, thats Freddys Ability. Pressure from the start. Very nice thing 😁. Freddy has suffered FAR MORE than any other killer. If wecan get addons like Dredges, which are wonderful, I could live with disabling the teleport at the start 😅😉.

If it's not a bug then the speed should be noted in the addon descriptions. Since they haven't added it, I'm more inclined to believe it's a bug. I have no idea why they haven't fixed it or killswitched it though, nurse is still an extremely strong killer even without those addons

@MandyTalk Does anyone have any videos that show the blink times are different than they were a year ago? If the claim is that blinks are different than they used to be, then video proof needs to show comparisons to older videos, to show that the blinks are working differently.
TD;LR When people only show current patch videos, it doesn't prove things are different than they used to be.

This is a very clear video from a well known/skilled streamer that illustrates why many Killer Mains consider nurse to be broken.
These addons are oppressive and not fun to play against. In short they allow the Nurse to blink vastly more distance in much shorter time. The only way you can avoid a skilled nurse using these addons at point blank range is to use DH. Many people feel that when nurse got changed these addons were not adjusted correctly.
If I were a gambler I would wager $10,000 that yourself and three co-workers of your choice from the DBD team would lose a best out of 3 or 5 game series against Tofu if he used these addons.

Here we are hoping for some acknowledgement of this really frustrating bug to go against with nurse's addons.
Oh, nice! A dev comment. Yup, just as expected, several completely unrelated comments that don't answer the question.
We have known about this nurse bug for months now. It has been reported many times. How can the devs not know about it..and how can the dev response in this thread be okay? Better for that dev to just ignore the thread rather than answer like this.

To put this delicately : I suspect the devs do not spend enough time at high MMR.
However I hope that if they bothered to watch the 1-2 minute explanation of how they "broke" nurse with these addons they could remove an extremely unfun aspect of a character.

That's a very accurate description of what's happening. The range addons increase the distance travelled by the nurse - the total blink time is always the same, so the nurse has a faster blink speed as a result.

People need to stop lashing out, adapt, and overcome. there are games I absolutely embarrass people and there are survivors that make me look like a fool. There are endless hard counters to her abilities, her perks, her hex's, ets. in the end, shes very difficult to play and its a lot of lucky guessing and game experience to actually do well. nerfs are not needed

AFAIK it's been a thing since god knows long, since nurse's traveling speeds are determined by the relative to current charge and maximum charge, having range addons increases that for same distance.

Exactly. I’ve seen zero evidence that Nurse’s blink times are different than they were a few patches ago.
In order to prove that a change was made, we would need video proof of Nurse’s blink times working differently. Instead, we just get clickbait videos made by people that get money when you watch their stuff.

The bug people kept mentioning wasnt the faster blink speed but the charge speed remaining the same even though the range addons should've increased it by 50%.

Yes she's difficult to play, but if someone is good at her, there is no counterplay if they have range addons. Never, at ANY skill level, is there a SINGLE "hard counter" to her power except maybe DH, much less an endless amount. I'd advise you to watch skilled Nurses play and revise your thoughts. Particularly watch the difference between skilled Nurses with and without range addons. Hens just today made a very good video highlighting the difference.
I understand that this is intentional, but it should not be. It is inconsistent with other killers' add-ons (Billy) and makes Nurse far, far stronger than she should be. Nurse without add-ons is already one of, if not the, best killers in the game. Adding additional blink travel speed removes the only consistent opportunity for counterplay a survivor has - juking while the Nurse is traveling. Add-ons, particularly a purple and green combined, should be powerful, they should not make a killer completely unstoppable with little to no counterplay.

ive seen very skilled nurses gameplay and also went against a couple counterplays. thats the hard part about balancing is making it balanced for both unskilled and skilled and thats every game. when it comes to the best of the best, a good SWF demolishes them if they all run dead hard and flashlights

With ranged add-ons, you don't really have that option from blink movement speed. at least now it makes sense why it feels like whenever you get zoned by nurse, you just instant die from being too close to nurse as survivor. that is somewhat of trick I use when playing nurse if the survivor end up outplaying my long-range blinks.
