Making Sprint Burst Strategic
New Sprint Burst - I think Sprint Burst should be changed to be the same as Dead Hard. Not in the sense of needing to be injured but in the sense of needing to press a button to activate it. It allows for more strategic gameplay and activating it at vital points when you actually need it.
The issue with current Sprint Burst is that you’re forced to use it because it is combined with your running option. It would be better to be able to run normally and then be able to press “A” on Xbox for example to activate it. This would help to make using Sprint Burst a little more competitive, kind of like how killers never really know if you have Dead Hard till you use it.
*NOTE* - Just to be clear you should NOT have to be injured to activate it. The only change is adding an activate button in general but can use it at any health state no matter if injured or healed.

First, that would just make it a better Dead Hard.
Secondly, if ANYTHING Sprint Burst should be nerfed, not buffed. It is already insanely strong and your change would make it completely broken.

You just want to press a button to activate sprint burst? That would be way too powerful and unbalanced. There is a reason why Lithe and Balanced Landing have a condition for the burst to activate.
You can't compare the burst effect to the small dash you get from Dead Hard. These are two different worlds. On top, you have to be already injured in order to use DH.

It would literally do the exact thing it already does, the only difference is it allows you to control it. This is kind of necessary for competitive players, it is in no way broken and it’s still effected by a one time use as usual. Literally nothing is changing. If nothing is changing, then this isn't necessary.

Did you even read the post or did you just decide to be a smartass and reply to comments?Yes, I read your OP. You want to remove the only negative point that Sprint Burst has by making it activate on demand (a huge buff), yet are simultaneously pretending that it won't change anything (a lie).

What's actually strategic is the fact that you need to know when to conserve your Sprint Burst and when to use it (by sprinting). You need to think if sprinting is worth it at any given moment, because you might not have time for the Exhaustion to expire before you need to use Sprint Burst again. It adds a layer of complexity to the perk.
Having it be on activation would take away any and all risk assessment necessary for the perk. It'd make the perk less strategic because you'd just have it whenever you wanted.2 -

There is a reason why Lithe and Balanced Landing have a condition for the burst to activate. Then the sprint burst should activate whenever you start sprinting. There would be no button then, and it would be conditional. Why does it need an exhaustion cooldown anyway? Just make it so that you get a burst at the beginning of every sprint, and it will be balanced and competitive. Pig and Wraith don't have to wait for some "exhaustion" to get their respective speed-ups.

Knowing when to use and not to use a resource you have is the very definition of strategy. Having it on a key press takes away what little forethought you need to have with this perk.

Killers are supposed to be more powerful. Regardless, Pig is slowed when crouching and slowed even further when she charges the ambush. Wraith is slowed while cloaking and uncloaking. Both their powers have long activation times, relative to Sprint Burst's.

I think you might be lost or confused. Adding a key press makes the perk more skill based. You’re suggesting that walking around the map to conserve your sprint burst is skill/strategy which is absolutely humorous. By adding a key to it for activation it makes it skill based. Just like Dead Hard- Dead Hard is not an easy perk to use and easily baitable, just like this perk. And killers will simply adjust to it just like any good player does. This conversations going nowhere and you’re clearly not helping it or adding ideas. Thanks for your time but feel free to move along.Adding a key press is an unnecessary buff to this perk. It takes away any drawbacks and makes it braindead easy to use.

You're not the first to suggest it, and you won't be the last, but AFAIK, you are the first to pretend it's not a massive buff.

Why are you controlling my post? It’s an idea, and frankly you’re not the majority. Just because some people disagreed on a forum it does not represent the entire DBD community but sadly after interacting with you, it seems like you think you represent them all. 💀😂I've seen this idea come up a few times, and it's always shot down by the majority of people who read it. I just want to know how many commenters you need before you accept that people don't think Sprint Burst needs to be buffed.

Unfortunately for you, and fortunately for the rest of us, the devs has stated in the streams they never will do that, because SP is already so powerful as it is, so doesn't matter how much you ask or wish for it, never will happen, and personally I'm glad for that!

You can't compare the burst effect to the small dash you get from Dead Hard. These are two different worlds. On top, you have to be already injured in order to use DH.
It would literally do the exact thing it already does, the only difference is it allows you to control it.
That is a major difference. Dead Hard requires the surv to be injured and allows him to gain only a few meters.
To randomly Sprint Burst away to safety, not only a few meters, whenever the survivor wants to - that doesn't require skill.
I suggest that you play killer for a while so that you can get a better feeling for what is balanced and what would be broken.

I’ve been playing the game for more than a year since it came out on console my knowledge of the game is perfectly fine. It’s more so the people who are clueless on how to counter abilities and would rather it be easy than learn to adapt. I play rank 1 billy and have no issues 4k’ing and I’m constantly thinking about what the survivor has (waiting out Dead Hard) etc.
Out of curiousity: How would you counter your buffed version of Sprint Burst? You told us the counter to DH (wait it out).

This thread isn’t about countering it but it’s typical gameplay and like any other change people learn new things and adapt.
This thread is about your suggestion how Sprint Burst should be changed and whether this would be balanced. If we want to talk about whether your Sprint Burst would be balanced, we have to talk about counterplay.
If you don't want to talk about counterplay, you don't want to talk about this perk's balance. And then the question would remain: Why don't you want to talk about it?

Sprint Burst is Sprint Burst it’s not that difficult. You can fake rev chainsaw let them use it then chainsaw them again. Like lmao? There’s no one answer but it’s kinda funny that you and your groupies are all trying to gang up on me. 💀😂0 -
The devs have already stated several times on stream that they won't make Sprint Burst have a designated key to be activated. Also that would literally just be better in every single way then Dead Hard. You don't have to be injured, and instead of a small burst of I believe 250%? You get a 3 second burst that goes at 150%.. Sprint Burst is weak compared to the other exhaustion perks. But its still a good perk that allows you to get away when you're in an unsafe area with no pallets or windows.

Just reading your replies I can tell you're a straight up moron. You're getting butthurt because everyone is disagreeing with your 2 brain cell idea. You want to buff Sprint Burst by pressing a button to activate it, you're a moron for thinking it takes skill when it does the complete opposite. You activate the skill via button while fully healed just to get a free getaway? No skill in that whatsoever. At least with dead hard you have to be injured. And then you refuse to talk about counterplay because you know there would be none. You just don't want to admit the idea is stupid, so you try to negate everyone's argument by trying to insult them. It just sounds like you're bad at the game.

It's already the strongest exhaustion perk besides maybe Adrenaline and Balanced Landing. The only weakness it has is that it activates when you start sprinting, so you're forced to walk until you use it. Even with this weakness it's still top tier.
No need to buff a perk that's already overpowered1
