5th Perk Slot for killers

Despite all the upcoming changes. I still would like to see killers have a 5th perk. Obviously, there would be restrictions to what perks you could take, so no slowdown perks etc. Just thought it would be a cool change.

I'd rather see a 5 slot added for all characters, bit only for their own perks.

An alternative would be reworking addons to become more like mini-perks with a variety of different effects than just stat-boost. ( charge speed, range, cooldown etc)

To elaborate, addons that boost certain variables/stats are most often the best addons and turn the rest just unviable in comparison, unless theyre already memetically bad.

I think ideally, most %-boosters should be "reasonably" added into the basekit, while turning all addons into mini-perks. Certain addons like Myers' mirrors or the chainsaw speed lomiters would also work (better?) As alternative abilities, swappable like survivors do items.

Maybe starting the trial with survs already injured could be a better idea

I would love these changes only to see what they find to complain next because we all know thats what would happen.

I specifically said that the 5th perk wouldn't be allowed to be a slowdown perk, but go off I guess.

They would probably ask for survivor to start on hooks or remove exit gates. I have been told in the past survivors should not care about dying because they have other things to enjoy from a match, but killing is all killers have. So maybe just start the match with all survivors dead and then have them respawn as ghosts to roam around for 5 mins or something.

No, sorry, but this is a bad idea, it would just make it easier for people to use 4 slowdown perks and have the 5th be something that still helps massively, but it also forces the devs to go and mark perks as slowdown just to disable the ability from them being equipped and do that for every future perk.

The beauty of DbD is its simplicity, overcomplicating it with "you have 5 perk slots but this one you can only equip certain perks" is just not good. If they add more perk slots every perk should be equitable, because that is how game design works. The alternative would be to categorize every perk and have each perk slot only take a perk from each category, which just limits creativity in perk combinations. Plus a LOT of balance changes would have to be made to make 5 perks work, it's just a bit too late for that.

I would prefer a third addon, but there would need to be some mechanics to deny nasty combinations. It would be too much work.

The killer plays against 12 perks and only has 4 perks. That's fine as long as no survivor can talk to anyone else. But the reality is that 75% of survivors play in a SWF group (according to the last time the devs graced us with statistics). We also know that plaing in a SWF gives you a 15% higher chance to escape.

To be honest the Killer should have 6 perks base kit if they are going to be so weak.

I've been thinking about Killers having a 5th perk slot. Personally I wouldn't mind a dedicated Hex Perk slot, that has its normal effects but is a permanent fixture for the match. As in it cannot be removed by survivors.

Of course, some hexes wouldn't be useful here, but having a slot that allowed permanent Hex Ruin or Blood Favour would be great.

Killers really should have an additional slot anyway, considering that the ratio of survivor perks to killer perks in a single match is 16-4. Hexes would be a perfect candidate for this theoretical 5th slot.

TBH after the recent slowdown perk changes, I feel like I want a 5th slot less. The new slowdown buffs are awfully strong and boring. And I can't imagine it being fun to play against.
