My Thoughts On The Developer Update July 13 2022

First off I am happy with a lot of this update, but I do have some very serious concerns.

Charms: These still feel very lack luster, they are very basic and as someone who is colour-blind, they are even more terrible.

Endurance: THIS NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED!!!!

With the introduction of base-kit Borrowd Time as well as Dead Hard giving endurance, putting you into Deep Wound from these is not only extremely annoying, it's impractical as BT is meant to get you away safely and should not punish THE SURVIVOR for the killer tunneling. Deep Wound can make the screen very dark, making looping far more difficult by reducing the survivors vision, meaning a tunneling killer actually has an ADVANTAGE over the survivor who is just trying not to die.

Also, being put into Deep Wound from your own exhaustion perk is very frustrating as its used mid-chase and losing vision on the killer for simply using your perk is utterly BS.

When talking about Mettle Of Man, it has a unique interaction where it doesn't put you into Deep Wound, HOWEVER it takes last priority when you have multiple Endurance effects active. This means Mettle Of Man cannot be used with BT, Dead Hard, Off the Record or anything else, making it useless once again. Imagine coming off hook as a survivor with Mettle active, getting hit by the tunneling killer, with your innate BT, now you can't use your Dead Hard, on top of Mettle not activating because you are in Deep Wound, this is BS. Either remove Deep Wound from BT and Dead Hard, or change priorities of Mettle of Man being used before other perks. Or both. Primarily both.

MOST IMPORTANT PART: Killers can apply Deep Wound with their powers, namely; Legion, Deathslinger and even Pinhead with the use of an addon. This makes endurance 100% useless against Legion as EVERY chase they can put you into Deep Wound and disallow any endurance, this includes BORROWED TIME, Dead Hard, Mettle of Man, Off the Record. Legions can tunnel EXTREMELY EFFECTIVELY as well as completely ignore an exhaustion perk. Deathslinger can do the same, with the use of an addon reducing the stun when a survivor breaks the chain, he can ignore any Endurance, let survivor break free, they are injured and put into Deep Wound, now no Endurance works at all. THIS IS NOT OKAY!!!!!!!!


Dead Hard: 0.5 seconds is not long enough, more experienced players can use this well as they know how to use Dead Hard already, BUT newer players a 0.5 second window is TREMENDOUSLY small. Think of all the times a noob has just DH'd into a wall or to nowhere coz they don't kow how to use the perk. This will happen more now that it doesn't grant any distance. On top of this, Survivors mvoe at 4m/s, meaning DH would grant 4 metres of distance where you have endurance, now it grants 2 . . . 2 METRES!!!! This is an almost useless perk to gain any form of safety net/window towards a pallet, it can still be used to avoid a LUNGE from a killer, or avoid something like a hatchet or chainsaw, but that's it. A killer who sniffs the survivors neck waiting out DH will never see it as 0.5 seconds is no time at all.

ALSO PLZ REMOVE DEEP WOUND IT'S SO ANNOYING TO GET EVERY SINGLE CHASE, my exhaustion perk shouldnt negatively impact me as well as prevent me from using my other perks (such as Mettle), it also cannot be used to stop a tunneling killer when they hit me with base kit BT.


Botany Knowledge: Please up the percentage to something more easy to calculate, a full heal requires 16 charges, now with Botany Knowledge this is not a whole number and is incompatible with most addons as you NEED a gel dressings RARE addon to allow for more than one heal on a medkit (only one heal with a brown medkit). It is not easily calculated and is also just a pretty bad nerf that could kill the perk entirrely.


Iron Will: While adjusting all surivors sounds is a positive change to the game, either one revert Iron Wills change until these adjustments have been made, or think of a different solution. This is not the way to go about nerfing this perk as anything below 100% is next to useless and turns it into a gamble of if the killer has good hearing or not.


Inner Focus: I hope the 32m cap is also removed from the aura read, coz thats geuinely a very good perk if it is, if not, it's kinda useless . . . still.

    I also agree it's a little weird that BT inflicts deep wound? Why get punished for being tunneled. Also why should I not be allowed to use off the record and dead hard just because the killer chose to hit me off hook? Go for the unhooket instead...

    I can understand the concern with the deep wound screen darkening, I've just gotten used to it. I think everything that have pushed out is a great step in the right direction. Maybe they can take a look at how deep wound affects survivor's screen in the future.

    Definitely interesting, just some BIG concerns

    First killers being able to bypass enduance with their power is pretty dumb, but agreed, Deep Wound isn't THAT bad, however for someone like me, I am light sensitive so I have my brightness lower than most and Deep Wound can REALLY screw me on darker maps such as Autohaven and Midwich

    Agreed, this reverted half the tunneling aspect of the changes. I also believe Off the record should activate after BT runs yout/you get hit
