Releasing gens instant explosion
Many of the people here should have suffered from this, when you are about to stop repairing and run out of the gen he just explodes (mostly happens on console, because the run an the skillcheck button are the same).
It gets to a point that you just cant believe how narrow are the chances for that to happen, but it happens at least once every day. So my only question is WHY THE GAME DOESNT LET US TO DO THE SKILL CHECK LIKE OVERCHARGE DOES?
If you try to repair a gen affected by overcharge you can just try to do the skillcheck and if you fail the gen explodes. Why this isnt happenning yet on normal games? you can think its just a minor problem but it gets frustrating and sometimes people will lose trials for that.

The real question is: WHY DOES OVERCHARGE LET YOU DO THE SKILL CHECKS WITHOUT STAYING ON THE GENERATOR?
It's a killer perk that makes the game easier for survivors. Awful design. AND a design flaw that wasn't even fixed amid all the recent buffing and nerfing of Overcharge!
Somebody over there is doing a very bad job.

Me telling my mate to wait about 30 seconds sitting next to the generator because I'm waiting for a completely random skill check to happen so that I can remove myself from the gen safely and heal them is not good game design.
Me running away from the killer shouldn't have the gen explode at complete random.
RNG in general is something that can't just exist in completely normal gameplay. Being screwed over by RNG isn't a good game mechanic.

i have other problems with overcharge, one of them is that the "extremely hard skill check" is centered in the screen and clockwise, like bruh we are doing this for years.
I dont see like a bad thing the game letting you "try" to hit it while running because at least it makes a bit harder to hit i guess.

i just release it and take the blow, the sad thing is that sometimes the regression is just enough for the killer to come to the gen or apply another regression perk on it...

The skill check should get way way WAY harder the closer the gen is to being complete. Like, kicking a 90% gen should give them a hair's breadth.

I think if it's a special perk skillcheck, like Overcharge or Oppression, you should fail it if you release. But if it's just a regular skillcheck, how about you gain the Incapacitated status effect for 5 seconds instead? Then it wouldn't be worth it to just release to dodge difficult skillchecks for example. Pretty straightforward solution.

Yeah, while I agree with the first sentence, I do not with the second. If the killer scared you away from the generator, they are doing their objective and the explosion is like an embedded gen regression. I do think, however, the skill check should only fail if it's already visible on screen (perhaps after 50ms or something like that). And the overcharge skill check should behave the same way.
