Hatch needs a visual indicator or something more than audio

Just an observation, but I'd estimate 80% of console players can't hear the hatch when it's open. I've watched them walk circles around it and also been taken there by the killer and then they run away. Not to mention this would be impossible to notice for hearing impaired users. The hatch should have either a visual indicator, or something else so people can find it without audio.

I don't think that's a good idea. Audio is pretty big part of the game after all.

    yep

I get that some people can't hear as well (impairement or lack of headphones) but audio is a huge part of the game. things like hearing footsteps, hearing breathing, hearing lockers and slow vaults, hearing grunts of pain, hearing totems getting broken etc.

there are a lot of things that need you to hear them, especially as a killer. while it is unfortunate that some players cant use all of these audio clues, restructuring a big part of the game just so some players can enjoy the game more seems a bit excessive to me. also this might make the game significantly harder or easier for one side.

That sounds pretty harsh towards those who are hard of hearing. Visual indications don't need to be from far way, something that is within 8m or so, basically something that if you had perfect hearing you'd hear it anyway and wouldn't help much.

They already said they don't want perks to be solutions for disabilities, they literally said that for Spine Chill, so why do you think this comment is acceptable when it comes to hatch?

It does have a visual indicator. There's smoke pouring out of it. I use this to find it from a distance with some frequency.

    hmmm

something that could work would be a hatch icon that gets brighter and more visible the closer you get to hatch as soon as you are in hearing range.

also yes it does sound harsh I am aware, but implementing options for accessibility can lead to huge shifts in balance of a game. People that can't hear as well can use it to enjoy the game more and that is great! but suddenly people that can hear well can use it to get an advantage.

I'm not sure if there is a method to implement something like this (except for hatch, imo hatch is totally fine getting one) where it wouldnt lead to people just having 8m aura reading permanently for sound.

I agree, I feel like the hatch should light up if u get within a few feet of it. I never hear the sound of the hatch at all when I play on the Switch. Only time I find the hatch is when the killer drops me near it.

It would be really easy to add an arrow to the HUD when you're within X meters of the hatch. Like a compass. It doesn't point at it directly, it just points you in the right direction when you're close. I think that would be better than giving it an aura/outline.

For those saying audio is important, try being deaf. lol
