[Accessibility] Shadowborn should be basekit
Shadowborn should be made basekit as a 15° slider (87-103). Not everyone prefers maximum. Some people must use Shadowborn to avoid getting a migraine while playing.
There is no meaningful downside. FOV techs do not work against common sense. Example of an FOV tech: If a survivor vanishes after you vault, there’s literally nowhere else they could be other than right beside/behind you. So turn around and hit them. Wider peripheral vision also is negligible because good killer players will be patrolling checking side to side anyways to not miss anything on the sides of the map as they go from one point to another.

It should be an option in setting to set Field Of View as a Killer (ON/OFF).

Why the arbitrary 87-103 degrees? Make it 90-105.

The default killer FOV is 87 degrees, shadowborn makes it 103. These number are used because it's what most are familiar with.

I'm aware. My point is the 87 degrees is oddly specific to begin with, and is a design choice I will never understand. Most games are either 90, or 100, usually depending on whether they're intended to be played on PC or console.

Just give us an FOV slider. A setting shouldn't be tied to a perk.

Why do you need a slider, who would set their FOV to anything short of the maximum allowed amount? If the devs ever want to increase the FOV that's fine but a slider is unnecessary, just change the parameter to whatever the highest FOV is that doesn't cause gameplay or balance issues.

I dunno, personally I never really liked Shadowborn's FOV change. I'd prefer it be a slider, even if I wouldn't be overwhelmingly upset if it were just basekit for everyone.
Control over FOV is a reasonable thing to want, so long as the maximum value isn't high enough to cause problems.

Not everyone is comfortable with the higher FOV. Like how some people have migraines from playing on the default 87°, some have strain from playing on 103°.

There are people playing this game who get headaches from playing with Shadowborn equipped.
That's why.
That's why it needs to be a slider like it is in most decent 1st person games.

I understand the response will be “get better” but playing killer on console highlights the importance of the FOV issue. It’s laughable when PC players use your awful FOV to run at you and disappear from sight. How is that a tactic the devs actually want to encourage in a game where the killer is supposedly meant to be feared?

Thanks for the info, I had heard about people complaining about getting headaches from low FOV, I hadn’t heard it goes the other way around too of people who get headaches with Shadowborn but not the default fov.
In that case I’m all for have a slider that maxes out at Shadowborn FOV and goes down to at least the current default or less. As long as the highest FOV isn’t gamebreaking I’m ok with it.

People should not have to give up a perk slot to not get migraines while playing killer. Literally nothing of value is lost by making the slider available as an option. Everything that works against killer’s low FOV doesn’t work if the killer has any common sense, and everything else can be done by looking side to side like a good player should be doing anyways.
