New update is fantastic for killers!

The game is so much more fun now for killers! Not having to worry about Dead Hard non-stop and knowing that the gens take a bit longer makes the game feel so much better and less stressful. I've had stuff happen in my games tonight that normally would aggravate me (SWF running me into Head On stuns, multiple blast mines, and saboing in my face) and it's really no big deal because the game just feels more fair now, especially for the M1 killers. Been playing Ghost Face tonight, a guy I pretty much thought was the worst killer in the game, and have actually gotten multiple gen grabs tonight thanks to the Spine Chill nerf and not having to try to walk backwards like an idiot to the gen. Thanks BHVR!!

yeah i played Wraith a lot today and it was way better, didnt need to use META all the time and could just have fun, the lost trials were not that stressfull they just had good teamwork and loops.

Sadly sadako still bad,but DH change helped

I just noticed the few games today that most killers commit on tunneling even harder than before the rework. Let's see how it is in the next few days. I also noticed as killer that tunneling is way easier, almost no DS and when u get it, there is almost no distance. Even less distance than after a BT hit.

I'm gonna try being more fair tomorrow and see how it goes xD

My matches were 50/50, either they went normal or someone would get camped to death at 5 gens

Haven't camped or tunneled at all and game seems a lot more consistently winnable instead of it being an auto loss in a lot of situations

Killer does feel very good. I'm able to play M1 killers and run a little more variety. Honestly, this is a perfect update if they delete Thana (or dial back the numbers by a huge margin).

This patch is intended for Chasing Buff.

They want killer to get into chase more and not feel like they are losing time get into chase with dead hard. The feeling of winning mind game is back when there is no dh.

More chase, more gameplay for both killer and survivors.

I found more camping killers. But let's see for a few days if how it would be for survivors. Meanwhile, killer life is surely better.

I mean to be fair I have seen a lot of exaggerated crying about the survivor experience as well today, with the patch not even being out for 24 hours. People on these forums generally like to exaggerate, and if we are mentioning killers crying and exaggerating how bad the game is, then I think the same can be pointed out on the survivors side after this patch as well. Maybe. It's still too early to tell.

But I do agree that the game will probably be quite rough for solo survivors in the next couple of weeks or even months, until the devs improve the game for survivors as well. More information for solo survivors, and/or some nerfs to camping and tunneling will most likely need to happen in order to keep queue times balanced.

I'm glad that someone is having fun.

I feel like that's an exaggeration. The baseline killer buffs weren't that crazy that they would make survivor really bad now. I doubt they will shift the balance too much.

But I do very much believe that survivors, or at the very least solo survivors, will need some help, and hopefully in the close future. No idea why camping and tunneling got pretty much no nerfs at all. And solo survivors could really need some more information to work with.

Survivors will need at least enough to compensate for the buffs killers have received at base.

It definitely was boring. The game felt hollow in some way. Hmm, maybe if i spend $100 on skins it will be more fun?

Then difference is miniscule, just do gens and can get out with 3 man.

Yeah, I wish BHVR to make all survivor players better so soloq suffer less.

    If that is possible, ofc.

a kindred type of base kit for solo would be great so that we can know how to act based on what somebody else is doing... right now it's just a guessing game that ends with 4Ks with 4 or 5 gens still there

I haven't had a chance to play with the new update yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to running more non-meta builds. It's something I always preferred because I personally enjoy chase builds, but it was always infuriating to do so because of perks like dead hard (for distance) and generators flying within minutes. It's definitely more comforting to know that I can take a more laid-back approach, and that I don't need the best of the best just to stand a chance anymore.

it is so funny how just before the patch this was THE EXACT WORDING about how killers will be leaving the game letting the survivors end up in hours of queue time xD shall I say "now you know how the other side felt" or something? are you even getting insight on how you were citing the opponent side?

btw it is not the killers crying at the moment, there are a LOT of killer mains saying that camping and tunneling has become way easier asking for reverting DS at least. and that it is not incentive enough to have better chases, when tunneling/camping was made easier in the same run

The difference is not that miniscule. All you need is deadlock with gens taking 10 seconds longer by default. This is why camping is "buffed" with this patch, hook states could have been added 10 seconds as well to compensate for example.

the game is more fun for killers and downright miserable for survivors. I don't even bother mindgaming anymore because a killer can just hold W with their tier 3 bloodlust that they get 30 seconds into chases lol

Except killers aren't guaranteed wins still. Played a match last night where all 5 gens got done and they all escaped. This was me playing Clown on Midwich, and I couldn't end chases any easier. The map still sucks for Killers.

But tell me again how the game is 100% a guaranteed win for killers now.

It isn't. The only difference now, is that survivors aren't granted as many get out of jail free cards, and actively have to put in effort to win. No more BS DS stuns, Dead Harding for distance, etc...

Funny, I'm a killer main and haven't resorted to camping or tunneling at all, even before this patch. Because it's not valuable and results in a loss.

Though I do play Dredge, so it's really quite boring to stand there and camp when I could TP and get a 4K instead of a 1K or less.

not really, i'm still getting in games where at the 3 minutes mark 3 or 4 gens are already completed which is the oppoaite of fun

The problem is what you said.

" the game just feels more fair now, especially for the M1 killers."

The game should not be fair for M1 killers. If M1 killers aren't struggling then the game is massively unbalanced. I know controversial every single killer should be viable. But that's just not good design. How can a killer that is forced to commit to loops be even close to viable when killers like doctor let alone blight exist.

If the weaker killers are not struggling, what does that say about the stronger killers? This feels like a very noob friendly patch for killers, to bring in new players who don't have he time or interest to reach the skill needed to win. Survivors once again have lost things and have gained very little, so survivor is not only harder, but more boring.

This patch the devs through out a bunch of ideas with no real cohesion and plan. By their own words, change the meta just for the sake of change.
