I think that one of the biggest issues this update is people simply refusing to adapt
May be a bit of an anecdotical post. I am not trying to downplay how some of the balance changes are insufficient to address tunneling and camping given how many tools given to killers strenghten the efficiency of those playstyles, or how solo qeue has been left to rot (I have been experiencing that first hand with quite some distasteful games as of late). But I think that it does not really justify the attitude many people seem to have taken after this update, in many of my solo qeue games and even while playing pretty chill killer builds (no slowdown or even decent chase perks) people have been giving up left and right. Got down first? DC, New dead hard didn't work? DC, couldn't get OTR value? DC.
And again, it's not even that the killer is bringing busted crap like quadruple slowdown, I literally just played a game against a clown that only had tier I brutal strenght and pop goes the weasel and two survivors still killed themselves on hook. Some of you really need to eat it up and try to adapt the best you can to these changes, Billy and Deathslinger mains did it before, I am sure you can too.

And I think you're largely mistaken.
Putting the bad attitude of some aside, because those people should just stop playing, this was a bad update, and you don't necessarily need to adapt to something you don't agree with.
I'm just going to agree on one thing with you: Rather than ruining games, just stop playing if you don't like it. That speaks louder.

I just played against a tunnelling Bubba with Dying Light, Thanatophobia and Pain Resonance. My team was really trying but we fell apart because we just couldn't get through those gens. How do I adapt to that?

I've noticed no real change to my games as a solo survivor but I've never liked the meta perks so nothing really changed for me
Except for the one Forever Legion game I played and the one with a tunneling blight (something you had to deal with prepatch too), the games have all been enjoyable to me.
I've actually enjoyed the games more now. The games have been a lot closer and more exciting to me. Surviving now seems to happen by the skin of our teeth rather than the usual killer curb stomp, which is much more enjoyable.
Granted I've only played 6 survivor games so far so I'll be curious to see if this pattern continues for me

They're gens. The game is 6 years old. What are we not adapting to? This isn't some new mechanic that was introduced. The only objective in the game for one side was made to take an eternity when you factor in the extra 10 seconds and stacked slowdowns everyone is running. Gens were made 80 seconds for a reason back in the day.

I'm not sure that's correct as that's kind of what adaptation is. Adjusting yourself to accommodate new circumstances, be they good or ill. You may not necessarily need to adapt, but you're going to have a worse time if you don't vs if you do.

Either roll gens back to 80 or keep them at 90 and dial back the buffed regressions by a lot. Honestly a bit of both would be my preference. Some of the perks like Eruption are ridiculous.

Hard to say, as Killer I've been seeing sometime 2 Prove Thyself per lobby. Discordance going off like crazy though. They did manage to do all 5 gens. My hats off to them.

Needing different perk builds, needing to loop more efficiently and not burn through resources as quickly, and understanding when the new changes have made it safer to go for a hook save.
I'm not necessarily agreeing with OP (I think there's more nuance than that) but there are things survivor players need to adapt to, and I do think that some players aren't doing that. The game has different tools and strategies now, it's not just that generators take a little bit longer.
Players are gonna need some time to adjust to their chases getting harder, that's not that unreasonable of a take imo.

Killers were stacking slowdowns before the patch as well. Pop and PR were common to see together, ruin, pop and PR were together were almost as common. Thana has always been popular on Legion and it's only seen a slight buff.
The biggest problem survivors are having is they haven't learned that chases are much shorter than they were before. They no longer have the crutches of DH and DS to extend chases for what's basically multiple extra health states.

It's not a slight buff at all to Thanat. I think people are misunderstanding the multiplicative effect to every slowdown that adding 10 seconds to gens has.

Over the last 2 days I've gone against several Legions with Thana plaus other slowdown/regression perks. It doesn't feel that different. Even in games where my team was prioritizing healing we still got gens done at a decent pace.

When a large portion of the player base that also exists on forums and Reddit subs verbalize that their games have been terrible, I'm gonna have to disagree with you.
There's nothing you can "adapt" to when your games are either over in 5 minutes with 5 to 4 gens left, or lasts an hour because of slowdowns. The cherry on top is the rise in BM.
It's not about survivors refusing to adapt. It's about killers sh¹tting on teams when pre-patch their antics were awarded with a a facecamping 1k at most.
