New patch experience so far
9 out of 10 Killers straight up camp and tunnel. Ironically, most of them are Survivor mains that switched to Killer after the recent patch.
There's still no incentive to not tunnel for Killers, so I can't even blame them. In fact, it's even easier to tunnel now. The removal of the bloodpoint bonus of BBQ & Chili certainly didn't help this at all.
All in all, I think there were some good & much needed changes but unfortunately, I really don't feel like this update had a good impact on the overall gameplay experience.

If they are survivor mains that switched to killer, they probably are playing like that. They will start failing once they get to high or mid MMR. But I am doubtful that killers get a small buff, and then all of a sudden people completely role switch to them.

tbh I've seen many posts already of Survivors threatening to quit the game or switch over to Killer. The Killer queue times are also ridiculously high at the moment, which is new to me.

The killer had problems with the queue even before the patch, but now it's terrible.

There should be more incentive not to tunnel or camp as a Killer. Maybe make the first hook stage take a while longer, while keeping the others the same.
I also wonder how many survivor mains switched and now tunnel for the other side.
Still I had no more tunneling than before this patch. I mostly see Huntresses who tunnel and camp, sometimes Nemesis or a sweaty Nurse. I however noted no increase.

That's what puzzles me. Why are survivor times instant and killer times so long?

well it's no surprise if the devs make the game miserable for survivors while making improvements for killers.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, but the developers love coddling and hand holding the killer side.
further proof of this:
- • Much more effort going into buffing/reworking killers. If survivors ever get anything decent it's nerfed shortly afterwards due to complaints.
- • Glyph challenges - gives debuffs and secondary objectives to survivors. there's glyph challenges that literally make survivors oblivious.
- • When there were boons that killers couldn't break, the affected maps were immediately disabled to get hotfixed. But when this issue existed with unbreakable hex totem spots, that went on for a long time and the maps weren't disabled.
The latest patch proves it further.

Just like when Dead Hard first came out and Survivors were using map offerings to get Auto Haven and Dead Hard onto cars so they couldn't be hit? How about the years killers spent with old Lampkin Lane, where House Of Pain was legit an infinite. You know like back before the Entity blocked windows? Didn't see those maps get disabled. How about the years "Fat Shame" spots existed? How about there are still "Comp corners" where if a hook breaks there, the Killer legit can't get a Survivor to a hook?
Oh last I checked, The Killer have debuffs on their Glyphs too. Maybe leave your Survivor Bias at the door next time.

Because everyone who doesn't have a SWF is switching to killer now because solo queue survivor isn't playable anymore so theres way more killers than survivors

that's way back and at that time the devs didn't disable maps the same way they do now, and they didn't push fixes very fast, let alone complete map reworks which were required for fixes to that. The issues with unbreakable hex and boon totems happened within months of each other, at which time the devs had the means to disable maps in both cases but chose to only do it the moment it affected killers

Solo Survivor is in a really bad state right now, I agree. The common Killer tactics are unfun to play against and the matchmaking seems to be even worse now than before....

This far, the update has been absolute horrible. Survivor is an absolute nightmare and killer ques are so ducking long

I don’t like the new update at all. Just trying to make the game easier for people who aren’t very good at it. I’m a 50/50 player being 50% survivor and 50% killer. As the killer I never had an issue. Yah something’s got annoying but it was bearable and I’d still win. As a survivor I thought some killers were already OP’d. The Devs made the game easier for ppl who can’t play well, I played this game to escape COD and now it seems like they’re doing the same thing. It sucks, I really looked forward to laying this game when I got off of work and now with all the nerfs and patch notes I think I’m gonna have to find a new game to play. The devs took something that wasn’t broken and f’d it up. Sucks
