Thanks for ruining Pharmacy

Really appreciate that, I liked finding a chest and getting an early Medkit and now I can barely do that because A: The Killer focuses on me until I get hooked or B: All the chests are opened before I even get injured.

So you ruined the perk.

Awesome, thanks, 10/10 design.

Just run No Mither with it and you get a guaranteed Medkit from the beginning!

But I am curious: how is scenario A different compared to before? Did the killer stop focusing on you because of the Medkit?

I liked grabbing a Medkit at the beginning of the game.

    I can't do that anymore.

    That’s okay and a valid complaint/criticism.

but that doesn’t directly ruin the perk and has nothing to do with your scenario A.

it actually does ruin the perk, here s why:

a normal match goes like this:

    1. you do normal stuff before getting chased such as gens etc.
    2. then you get chased and hit once probably (perk activates)
    3. now you are injured
    4. you will probably be chased and be downed
    5. now you get hooked
    6. when you get unhooked you probably get healed by a teammate (this is faster than finding a chest, searching it, and then self-healing)
    7. now you are healed and the perk deactivates

between when the perk activates and deactivates there is no way to use it since you are either chased or on hook.

There is only a few scenarios where you can use the perk now which are:

    • you get hit and the killer loses you through any means (using perks to make this happen makes a weird build around an already weak perk)
    • you get unhooked and not healed (killer comes back; survivor selfish) and you dont get tunnelled

before you could use the perk BEFORE you actually needed the medkit, allowing you to have it as soon as you actually did need it.

Now you have to go get it when you would normally need it, wasting time finding the medkit then self-healing when normally you could ve probably just find a teammate or just do a gen

Before you used it when you accidentally stumble upon a chest to get value WITHOUT running around to find a chest

current version wastes more time + you can rarely get value from it. This is a nerf

but with your normal match, the perk wastes time anyways - or did you just heal yourself in front of the unhooked and left him standing there without points? And you already „wasted“ time (your word) to get the medkit at the beginning.

in the end, it’s a rework and it didn’t outright ruin the perk but changed it. Now you can actually get potentially more value out of it - before you only had one guaranteed heal. Now you have as many heals as you can find chests

btw, you can memorize locations of chests so you don’t have to waste time searching for them - after all you already have been in the match for a while and have been running around.

i agree it still needs some qol change and the rework wasn’t only positive. But it’s still possible to give feedback without making up theoretical scenarios while completely leaving out any other scenario possible.

I honestly feel it should do its effects plus allow you to rummage through a chest for a med kit, like Residual Manifest, it seems like a no brainer. How could you come out with a good design like residual, then rework pharmacy to how it is now, its tone deaf lmao

I dunno why BHVR doesn't do more "activate ability by pressing a button" type things. Like with a Styptic on a med kit, you hit a button to use it. Why not the same with Pharmacy? You hit a button while searching the chest and it guarantees a med kit. You want a med kit your first time searching a chest? Great! You never have a moment where you want a med kit? That's fine, too. The difference between "whenever injured" versus "when you choose" isn't game-breaking, it just gives players a choice and would keep a potentially useful perk from being totally useless. If the number of possible med kits is too high, then just give Pharmacy a maximum number it can pull.

Yep and a rework could've gone like this:

You have a knack for finding medicine. Searches through Chests are 40/45/50% faster, increased to 80/90/100% while injured and the noises they cause along with their hearing distances are reduced by 8 meters.

Pharmacy guarantees an Emergency Med-Kit on your first completed Chest Unlock and everytime you unlock a chest while injured.

    ---

This retains it's original function quality and gives it a new one.

    YES

something like this definitely! Or incorporate rummage like someone suggested.
