Devs don't be fooled
Not joking, I see everywhere survivors that are throwing the game on purpose as "protest" regarding the buffs that killer got... It's a SHAME.
in the beginning I already saw a couple of posts regarding this issue and I was thinking that the people that were writing those things were overexxagerating, but then I tried to do a couple of matches and I saw people LITERALLY CHASING me for wanting to be sacrificed. I even asked to a friend of mine to do some matches as killer and to stream them in order to see if I was just unlucky to find those kind of people, but the results were the same: people that let themselves die on the hook, people that kept staying idle and tbagging when the killer was looking at them, heck, even a couple of "sandbaggers"

But seriously if the devs roll back the killer buffs for breaking and attack cooldown by 5% but keep the less speed boost as it is it would help put a pacifier in these spoiled survivor

Or...we accept that, this being a gaming forum for a PvP game of any sort, people are going to declare that the sky is falling if you nerf anything, that a huge, seismic shakeup to the meta of the game is going to amplify this effect a hundredfold, that people will eventually calm down and adapt and that, once things stabilize over the next few months and the devs spend another few months gathering data as a new meta settles in, we can then start talking about the next balance changes needed.
Knee-jerk buffs and nerfs are how we wound up with Boil Over squads and the current state of Freddy.

Yes and no.
Chase and gens - it's way too early to start making knee-jerk revisions. There has barely been any time for anyone to adapt, for any sort of definitive meta to emerge or to see what happens when incentives come back and queue times normalize, which will also help SBMM immensely.
DS, yes.

"Don't be fooled" - by what, exactly? Sure, I agree they're acting very immaturely, but the fact remains that it's happening because a lot of players are unhappy.
And you can believe that it's unfair/immature/a refusal to adapt, and you might even be right on some counts, but it's still the truth, and player happiness across the board is something devs have to consider with their own game.

No. First off, i don't think that would stop them from complaining. But even if it did what precedent would that be setting? Then next time there is a balance change they don't like survivors will just do it again. Why not, if it keeps working?
How many completely survivor sided patches have killers endured? Without quitting or going afk? If we can do it they can too, they're just not used to getting the short end of the stick, so they're actually outraged a patch wouldn't favor them.
They can adjust to one killer sided patch. In a week or two everyone will have moved on to something else anyway.
As an aside I had decided after all this time I was finally going for the rank 1 survivor achievement. Man, did i pick a bad time. It may not be possible in this environment but I'm hoping once I get to gold I'll have teammates who actually play the game. I've had a thrower or quitter in probably 80% of my matches.

STBFL - maybe.
One thing to remember is that, especially at higher MMRs, a lot of people have been at least partially carried up past where they should have been by Dead Hard, and that this patch was a big shake-up to the survivor meta in general.
Some will adapt.
Some won't.
MMR should take care of it but it's going to take a while for people to find that correct MMR spot, and right now, with queues being borked and the incentives killswitched, it's going to be chaos for a bit.
If you were to make some immediate changes, I'd revert DS to 5 seconds and Self Care back to 50%. See what happens.

Yes, that's right. There are some survivors who let themselves die on purpose or put their own buddies in the sand and so on, all just to protest. But the developers aren't stupid, they realize that already.

today every single game is just tunneling for a 3vs1...why should your friends still play this? is pointless and they just go next.
imagine still tunneling after getting 5 million training wheels :)

All I know is that when it was awful to play killer, they were told to "git gud" and to suck it up. Now it's all about "Oh, gotta keep player fun factor in mind!" Just admit you don't care about other people's experiences and just want to feel good by stomping people and being toxic in the endgame.

People keep playing. If people were "that" angry, they wouldnt play at all.
Suicide on hook will be noticed in their stats -> if a survivors is dead in less than 1min , its a suicide and it wont count.
Devs know what's happening and will do what is smart.

I am pretty sure majority of players don't try to change the stats. I think many people are just unhappy. I am not saying Its right to just DC or ruin the game for others just because something you don't like. But you can see many solo Q Survivors just have bad time.
If Survivors have bad time, it means people are unhappy and will either quit or move to killer or just play less. Then killers will have also less fun and be unhappy because no one wants to sit in a que for 10+ min. You need 4 players mind you to play 1 killer game.

Nope. Gens can still be done quickly. The extra 10 seconds only helps toward late game but the early game isn't slowed down at all. The impact of the extra 10 seconds is almost entirely dependent on how the survivors play.
STBFL is fine as is. It requires the killer to completely avoid one of the survivors or receive a penalty to it. If you don't feed the killer stacks or make bad plays then it won't be an issue for the most part.
DS was broken. If you can't get to safety with a basekit BT or OTR, an exhaustion perk, and a DS stun then your skill is the problem barring a few rare situations. High mobility killers are still going to catch up to you quickly, but now the lower mobility killers have a chance instead of having to abandon a chase or slug and risk Unbreakable. If DS could be prevented from being used offensively then I'd agree with changing it back. But survivors still want to bodyblock for their rescuer and depend on DS to save them. You can't cry about tunneling when this is how DS is used.

"You can't cry about tunneling when this is how DS is used." then why is everyone surprised if survivors are getting tunneled and complain about it? the amout of tunnel definitely raised into oblivion after patch and there is literally nothing you can do against it
i played with OTR the whole day (never did before), killers doesnt care and still tunnel for an ez 3vs1

No one, and I mean absolutely no one, is surprised survivors use BT to bodyblock for their rescuer and rely on DS to save them if the killer chases them for it and then complain they were tunneled and camped.

2 hook states of DS is insane, but 5 seconds for DS is justified or they should stop killer powers for a little so they can't instantly get you after. Gens are fine at 90 seconds the passive slowdown needs nerfed or the way they stack together needs to be looked at. STBFL is mostly fine maybe just cap it off at old max speed.

Oh please. I highly doubt that all my teammates who DC/suicide on hook for being tunneled are trying to inflate kill rates. (DCs aren't taken in account anyway) Some people just aren't having fun. What should happen is bhvr deciding to prioritize making things better for solo q by working on those HUD icons immediately, rather than putting it on the back burner trying to release a streamer mode. Why they didn't think to do the icons and the killer buffs in the same patch I'll never understand.

They made gens slower, buffed some killer perks, gave the best killer perks minor nerfs, nerfed all the best survivor perks so they weren't useful, gave killers buffs to basically every action they do. This isn't some minor "hurr durr git gud without dead hard thing" they basically took a sledgehammer to the game and are wondering why people aren't having fun.

They should just make kindred basekit that would help a lot. BBQ for killers then as basekit to encourage leaving the hook.

You are basically asking devs not to listen to the extreme unhappiness with the patch . That is the entire issue to begin with, being ignored.
I think survivors are tired of being nerfed constantly and killers being buffed. I know I am.

There is massive support for survivors to just DC if they don't like how the match is going. It's promoted at this point.

The issue is clearly killer queues being so long that they're playing survivor and dying on hook instantly to throw matches, while also making survivors look as bad as possible.

So it's ok that killers "weren't happy" for 5+ years, but as soon as it changes to hurt survivors, we don't get even a month in before screaming?

Activate both hook states imo. 5s stun is just a "What the ######### do I do now" thing for killer, but 3s makes it not feel like I just lost the game right there

there's only a little problem: you'll see 1 or 2 killer in an entire month doing those things probably... in the meantime i saw those things from survivors every matches done... and mind you, before they could still happened those things, but they were extremely rare...
remember that devs consider kills and not fun/bp gained/hooks for a win/loss (which is strange considering how the pip system actually work since it will reward you for multiple hooks/chases instead of kills, speaking of which their words will incentive more camping and tunneling btw). You can camp all the match but in their eyes if you did at least 2 kills it's a draw and with the basement bubba it isn't that difficult honestly (kill the 1st one and took the 2nd one with noed)...

It's a flawed argument however you slice it.
There's no United States of Survivors that could inititate some sort of mass covert operation to overturn the Free Republic of Killers. If you're observing defeatism, that's a pattern of the individual. And its impact in the stats is a drop in the ocean.
To convince yourself, just look at the numbers of community tome challenges. Then ask yourself what would be the impact of any given single survivor. Nothing. Now, if numbers of that magnitude were actually moving, that would be a symptom that a large chunk of the survivor population was affected. Which leads me to the next point.
Asking to ignore factual feedback is nonsense. It's a game that needs 5 players. The devs task is to make (reasonably) 5 players happy. If 4 are (factually) telling you they aren't by means of not even bothering trying in a match, then that must be looked into. Because it means that their voiced feedback was ignored before they actually resorted to other ways to espress it. It's never a good business move to take a ######### onto 80% of your customers. Because the next step in the feedback chain is to leave the game altogether.
Look at that Deathgarden. That's exactly how it played out after players' complains constantly fell upon deaf ears.

Staying injured and doing all 5 gens makes zero sense. Also, you count those numbers as if 1 survivor would have to repair all 5 gens alone. Which isn´t realistic. On top of that, CoB and Overcharge don´t do 400% regression (which would be the normal repair speed for a single survivor).

Try different times of day. I'm at Iri on survivor right now and I find later on in the evening I get a lot of people throwing games. About 4 to 8 PM MDT and weekend days seem to work out to the best for not getting DCers.

But yeah, don't be fooled. The patch is perfect.

For years, survivors were clearly the Powerhouse, trolling the killer around and in the post-chat they want to write ugly things down like "get good", "you are so trsh" etc.
Now they have to suffer 1 week of a patch which balances the game for killing Deadharding for Distance and they cry like babies who doesnt want to change their panties. Shameful.

A few comments, amongst others promoting/defending surv DCs:

There's definitely people going around promoting/defending DCs on the survivor side just because they're upset about the changes and want to force the devs hand by "teaching them a lesson" about the patch or just because they went down early.
This is not new, people have defended survivor dcs for a long time, but its just a lot more frequent/prevalent now. I've been seeing it quite a bit.
There's people arguing against it of course, but its still concerning.

Imagine Dying Light too? It's busted with Plague and Legion. It gives slowdown to gens and the obsession can unhook and heal faster, but why heal against those 2 killers? Stack with Thana and Pentimento and its gg.

Or for every gen completed the speed would increase for the remaining gens. They could increase the repairing time to 100 seconds and as soon as the first gen pops all other gens get a little speed boost leading to 95 seconds, and then 90, 85 and finally 80. I think that could work.

If survivors are doing this, then this is a symptom of a problem, not the actual problem.
When all the survivors finally have had enough and start quitting, what game will you start playing then? Killers don't exist without survivors.
1
