Please add a blocklist so we can block cheaters out of our games.
It's insane how many cheaters are currently targeting streamers (big or small.)
Can we please get block button so we atleast don't have to deal with the cheaters a second time? I really don't see the downside to this except that it makes people's queuetimes longer the more people they block/get blocked by.
People who block a lot of people will understand. People who get blocked a lot shouldn't be playing anyways.

This would just be abused to block players that beat you or people that don't play the way others want them to (i.e. a survivor that that waits for you to die on your last hook so they can find hatch instead of trading and both of you dieing).

Nah, toO exploitable for the reasons you stated. Idea is not even good enough to be dead on arrival... Unless you are Overwatch developers. Those fools actually tried it for about a week before going, "oh, so that is why no competent developer has ever done this?"

It's the most quick fix to the cheater problem you currently can have. Imagine the amount of account a person will need to have. Even if they buy accounts from others who have gotten the game through epic back when it was free, it will cost them about $20-$30 if they want to do this. You could even make it so that people block certain IP's as well, so you can choose between an IP or a normal block so they wont even get the chance to go onto another account to bother streamers (or other players) unless they use a vpn (but then you have the normal block option.) This would also help to remove toxicity from the game since they will get less matches and are forced to change their ways or acept long queue times.
There. I fixed your cheater problem. Screw your arms race. If you're weak you have to fight with your brain, not your fists.

pretty much this.

Literally anytime a killer 4ks they would get blocked by the survivors

Uhm, yeah, that is why some people would love being able to block, even when it means longer time to queue up. That's on them then, but personally I wouldn't mind if it means to get good games.

Then they get large queuetimes. That's on the players as I mentioned. Unless that is your way you want to use it, they will only screw themselves over. A person can block 10 people. those 10 people wont notice that 1 person block, but the 1 person blocking 10 people will have longer queuetimes.

I play overwatch and its literally the best feature in the game. Even if you put a max amount on blocks, it will be better.

I meant the OG block. You are talking about the avoid system. That could definitely work here if they limited the number, as Overwatch does. I would be fine with that, I suppose.

You might not mind, but the person who gets blocked by too many people for playing too well certain will.

And those people wont be matches with them anyways if they can't keep up with their skills. This really wont matter other than people eventually cockblocking themselves from their own matches. Again, a person can block 10 people. Those 10 people wont notice being blocked by 1 person but that 1 person will have longer queuetimes because they blocked 10 people.
People will only screw themselves over.

thing is, if you can only block X amount of accounts it would have to be IP banned since otherwise hackers will just get their other accounts.

According to the article, they absolutely will because matchmaking will take so long that the player will eventually be forced to matchmake with people way worse than them.

You can put a cap on the amount of people you can block (as long as its either a vpn block or a hardware block) so hackers will have a harder time yet queuetimes wont be as affected.

It doesn't matter if one person can only block ten people. What matters is if a ton of people block one specific person.
1 -
that means they have a valid reason to be blocked. You dont block people who are not doing anything wrong. If you get blocked often it means you throw, are a hacker or very toxic. Setting a cap will ultimately prevent people from blocking too many people so the queuetimes wont be affected except for the the individuals listed above.

That is very much not necessarily true, as the article once again demonstrates. There is nothing stopping large numbers of people from gradually blocking the same one person for simply being too good, which is exactly what happened according to the article.

I don't see the issue here. How is that an issue? If someone blocks pretty much everybody that beats them, eventually they will run out of people to block and just increase their wait times exponentially and if the new players do the same to them that pretty much results in them almost never getting matches. That is their problem.
On the other hand if people keep blocking you because you are unfun to go against, that is your problem. Eventually you will probably go against people more your level anyway, because it will only be people who have not blocked you, people whom, just like you, prefer a challenge.
Idk, if you ask me that just feels like such a non-issue, the only people I see complaining are the try-hards who KNOW they would get constantly blocked and I seriously have no sympathy to them and the other people would be the ones who just block pretty much anybody that inconveniences them and end up increasing their wait times, to which I have no sympathy either.

Except it wouldn't work that way. They would just be paired up with weaker opponents. Sure they're queue times might increase some, but it would be a while before they saw a drastic increase in times.
