If you're going to force us to prestige, can you remove the penalty for prestiging please?
There's no reason, other than to artificially get rid of bloodpoints at the end user level, to penalize us for prestiging. You keep saying you've reduced the grind, but then throw in artificial costs for something we're forced to do.
If you're trying to reduce the grind, why artificially inflate it?

Hey, I'm just the messenger, don't shoot me.

Have they said no? I hadn't heard that if it's true.

They thought 50k was fine on PTB. Everyone told them to remove it. They reduced it to 20k. You see how development works here. Pretty good job so far, I guess.

Uhh, uhhhh

Why would 50k be ok
More Bp=More enjoyment on the players side

just a friendly reminder that you disintegrate a minimum of 2mil bp in a characters climb to prestige 100 for absolutely no valid reason, on top of the who knows how many millions of unwanted items/addons/offerings/etc along the way. Seems hyperbolic until you realize thats for one character.
6 -
There should be a choice - prestige for 20k or don't prestige and have infinite level 50 bloodwebs.
6 -
Wait, we have to pay to prestige?! I thought I got 20K for doing it!
6 -
actually, lets take this up a notch. 100 prestiges is a lot, right? lets try to be practical and only go off of up to 3, shall we? now lets look at this from the perspective of a new player...
There are currently 28 killers, and 31 survivors. each p0-p3 costs 60k in invisible, spontaneously combusting BP tribute that you don't even get crappy brown addons, items, or offerings for. if you were to only go for getting all killer perks, this would cost about 1,680,000 BP being given as tribute to the aether. for survivors it would be 1,860,000! combined you'd be looking at 3,540,000 in BP that might as well just not exist in the first place.
and again, this is on top of the countless number of garbage nodes that siphon BP in the process.
8 -
Other way around.

Once again I am the clown! 🤡
1 -
Yeah they reduced the from 50k to 20k but why they kept the cost for Prestige at all I have no idea. 🤷♂️ They must think it serves some purpose or they wouldn’t have gone out of their way to add it in the first place let alone keep it in the game when they had a chance to remove it, but I haven’t seen a dev explanation for why it’s there so who knows?
6 -
Hey I like Clown, nothing wrong with that! 🙂

You're never a clown if you're open to, and adjust your opinion when presented new information.

They are extremely bad at managing player retention. They unironically use the grind as a crutch to keep people playing rather than making their progression feel meaningful enough on its own. This update basically solidified that with how their grind reduction isn't even a reduction in some respects, its trading one grind for another. Most people would have been better off if they just kept things as is and removed perk tiers, and it would have taken longer than the game's life to even catch back up... Instead we got this convoluted system of catchup mechanics with arbitrary thresholds and arbitrary BP sacrifices on top while not even addressing the absurd amount of waste in the bloodweb itself.
4 -
Totally agree

They made grind 100 times more worse honestly now you have to update character to level 100 to complete the grind before 3 was enough and still you have to pay extra 20K per level this change really sucks and old P3 looked better too with the skull and roman numerials than now it's just circle with number...
4 -
The update is definitely a huge reduction in the grind for me personally. I went from having every killer at Prestige 1 with 30-40 perks yesterday to all my killers having every single teachable perk at level 3 today. It's like 100 free bloodwebs worth of perks on every single killer. The 20k per Prestige in this thread is insignificant compared to the ocean of bonus perks I just got.
0 -
I bought a new survivor and immediately had tier 3 perks
It's not completely terrible.
1 -
Because it's BHVR.
2 -
I had to keep going back and forth with killers on whether they were close enough to 170 perks to justify grinding to keep my addons, or nuking everything to p1 them for the instant p3. Characters who had the majority of their grind before the "2 perks after 40" rule scaled with the catchup considerably worse than ones who weren't progressed until after, and on killers like huntress i'd much rather not lose all those addons to make sure her perks are t3 for everyone.
2 -
The worst part is having early level blood webs that have nothing good on them. Getting items/addons now is insanely harder.
4 -
I feel like the grind is now worst… it took me 1.8 mil to get from a p3 Kate level 50 she was p9. To get to p10 had to pay 20.000 to prestige and forced to prestige when tbh I did not want to…
then to add insult to injury you then have 40 levels of brown useless addons where as before when I used to put points into blood webs I would get purple and green items….
i personally do not like this new system. It’s taken a step backwards. We shouldn’t be forced to prestige I have no clue why it costs to prestige and again I have no clue why we have to start at the small blood webs again and just get really bad items….
I said to a mate earlier as somone who has p3 eveyone I feel like bloodpoints are now pointless
i used to pour points into getting decent items but now nope I have so many brown offerings and add ons I will never use. Again waste of bloodpoints why half the offerings and add ons are still in the game I don’t know.
then went to the shrine to get some bp and to my amazement it now costs more and you get less :/
6k for a perk I already have unlocked makes no sense and 100bp.
i used to use my shards on perks for the extra 150bp…. Now I guess shards will just sit there and be another pointless currency

They mentioned in the last dev update that they will be eventually adjusting the rarities for post-Prestige bloodwebs so you can still continue getting rares and Ultra rares in them.
1 -
Why are you complaining about 20k? Thats less than a single match. We traded losing everything to paying 20k. Jesus its like dbd fanbase is the whiniest community out there.
1 -
If they made it free nobody would complain, thats why there are people (like me) bitching about it, its just a line of code that would resolve this and instead they insist in keeping it
2 -
2 million just Prestige penality? Nuts. And they thought the old one with 5 Million is good lmao
1 -
yes!
1 -
Man that would be nice. Way more motivating than having to pay when it used to be free.
2 -
Maybe they'll wait for people to get to P100, then adjust the rarities so the level 50 bloodwebs aren't as good anymore, just to make sure that everyone still has a terrible addon grind.
1 -
Because there's no reason for it. Simple as.
1 -
Yeah, I've seen yesterday, 20k BP to prestige every lvl xD big joke
1 -
No, my dude, u actually paying 20k BP to get lvl 1 character and prestige...
2 -
I have no Idea why 50k is a problem for you guys.
20k is still too much?
I Don't understand why such amount really bothers you while they removed BP bonus (which is 20k-32k PER GAME not per 50 BLOODWEBS).
I am literally amazed.
1 -
Honestly, I think the 50k was all along a red herring strategy to distract us for how terrible the add-on economy became.
And I thought they'd remove it so they can both destroy the add-on economy and yet claim they reduced the grind.
And yet they had the audacity to decrease that cost.
But yeah, BBQ ad WGLF stacks need to be back baseline. At this point, I wouldn't mind if it was two stacks maximum. Just give us the grind reduction you promised!!
2 -
Because there's no reason for it.
0 -
Friendly reminder
The Prestige Penalty should not exist in a system that has no optional prestige anymore!
3 -
I believe the toll to prestige exists as a way for them to pretend they didn't just make you waste your blood. They put it in place so that if enough people complain about it, then they will remove it and use that as proof that they are listening. They already did this once.
The problem isn't the toll. The problem is the fact that level 1-24 don't have a single thing you actually want to buy in them, so you have to spend 6-800,000 blood or so to even get back to webs where you want to buy things.
Think about that, you people are complaining about the toll when you are totally missing the actual grind!
3 -
Yes there is. Its a bloodpoint sink. Just like all those addons and offerings nobody uses. 20k is small enough to not affect anyone who plays more than 1 match a week and has a noticeable effect on people who grind p100 on everyone.
0 -
That's still not a reason LOL They make it artificially long for literally no reason. What terrible logic.
1 -
It also annoys me that every time you prestige you have to go back to the itty bitty bloodwebs that have like 4 brown items. I like 'em big thank you.
3 -
Why did they claim they wanted to reduce grind and then add more arbitrary grind that literally gives you nothing for the points you put in? Leveling already feels super unrewarding with the sheet bloat of useless items present in the bloodweb (looking at you wreathes and flowers, and chalk pouches, and green keys, etc etc)
Imo they should remove the BP cost for prestiging entirely and also look into a Bloodweb overhaul. Or, at the very least, look into removing a solid 50+ items that literally no one uses.
3 -
Friendly reminder
The Prestige Penalty is still not ok. Players are punished by a game mechanic that is forcing them to waste blood points in order to make progress.
5 -
I would really like a choice (especially if I'm trying to grind add-ons). That being said, the prestige tax still isn't necessary for that choice.
3 -
Agreed, it's not necessary. Ideally I'd like them to do away with it entirely but they won't do that especially with so many prestiging their characters and wasting BP now. Very least I can hope for at this point is being given a choice.

Hi, as a new player, the grind system is awful.
When I got the game, I did not played due to the massive grinding but at LEAST by reaching level 40 I was able to pottencially unlock the perks I wanted.
Now is much more difficult and takes longer also considering the fact that for some reason the prestige cosmetic were made harder to get.
TBH I have suggested to have at least all perks unlocked when a DLC is bought.
I am more than willing to pay to have all the perks and have fun playing with any build I want than to grind like we are supposed to.
