Pinheads box…
it spawns way too often.. the worst part is you can’t even solve it without the chains stopping you every half a second. It’s so frustrating. 😂

Play Pinhead yourself and I promise it'll feel like it takes ages to spawn.

A simple change would be that the chains don't stop you from doing things like healing or gens, they just make you slow. That way he'd be a lot more tolerable in solo queue, instead of getting free 4Ks because the box exists. In return they can make his chain easier to hit.

SoloQ Pinhead, I'm just running around solving the cube and looping the killer... noone else does it.
Short answer, get to the cube sooner
7 -
It's 45 seconds to respawn unless Pinhead picks it up which it becomes 10.

Since we have this thread going… Has any one else noticed a significant increase in Pinhead finding the box at game start? I have found that about 50% of my matches vs pinhead start this way lately, whereas it used to be maybe 5%? My assumption is that there is a trick to figuring out where the box spawns at game start that has gone public, just like there are patterns to where survivors usually spawn… maybe I’m wrong… but if others have noticed this lately, maybe I’m right… thanks…

It is not 100% but if you know where the survivors are (lethal pursuer) when it spawns you can find the box. It spawns basically in the area where both Pinhead and the survivors are not. There is an Otzdarva video on finding the box on YT.

30 seconds. 45 second is if you grab someone out of a locker when they are carrying the box. window grab as well.

Pinheads are right up there with Legion with gameplay design that disrupts what the dev's give survivors the ability to survive.
There is no counter to a Pinhead +Franklin's that can hold the game hostage with looping puzzle hits

The Box spawns max distance away from the survivors and Pinhead. If you got some gaming sense and use Lethal Pursuer you can get a good approximation of were the box shall spawns. Head over there and just keep looking for a survivor to intercept.
Bonus Points if you equip Hoarder, in order to get a notification on pickup; combos well with Franklin's Demise to knock the box outa some pesky survivor's hands.

The box doesn't spawn too often. But the chains stopping you from solving it is definitely an issue. They once said they fixed that issue, but sadly, they didn't.
3 -
The chains would be pointless then. Survivors can already power through the unhook animation after they've been hit with a possessed chain.
3 -
It's half fixed. Chains won't attack you while you are solving the box but since chains attack in a set of 3, once a chain attack starts you have to wait for all 3 chains to fire.

The box spawn mechanic is kinda easy to read and guess where it will spawn first.
The box spawns the furthest point away from both Pin Head. So if the Killer uses Leathal Pursuer that cuts alot of the guess work out, then they can use the item that causes all the survivors to spawn together which allows them to zero in on the proper area.
Same goes with Pyramid Head's Cages too. I can guess with about a 90% certainty where the cage will spawn. Once you learn the mechanics it's not hard to figure out.

Do you want every Killer to be a trapless Trapper or what?

How do you propose we make Pinhead more bearable for Solo Q? At least they're trying to come up with ideas.
I had three last night. Every single match was miserable. I would rather nerf his Chain Hunt and buff his Possessed Chain.

Keep him as is and get a better SBMM?
Pinhead isn't an issue, bad Survivors are an issue

I mean if we are being honest, Pinheads real power is his Chain hunt so thats a big nerf.

Survivors who can't say, "Hey, I'm going for the Box." or "Hey, the Killer intercepted me on my way to the Box." are always going to be bad against Pinhead.
SWF's who hammer out the Box as soon as it spawns making damn sure he never gets a Chain Hunt are always going to be good against Pinhead.
I would rather buff his anti-loop Possessed Chain, which is pitifully weak at the moment. Then, I would nerf his Chain Hunt in some way. I've not yet decided how. This both buffs his effectiveness against SWF's and nerfs his effectiveness vs Solo's whilst giving him a net buff overall.

Pinhead has no actual Power. The box is in the Survivors' control, and his Possesed Chain is useless if Survivors know how to loop tiles with high walls

Really though it comes down to communication. If players let chain hunt happen it means no one was going for the box before it started or are chickens about solving it and aggroing the Killer.
Tbh Chain Hunt shouldn't affect the solver but wasn't that how it was before and people were holding it hostage or something like that. I can't remember what the issue was with it in the beginning.

The issue is that the Box spawns Chains and Pinhead will immediately aggro to the Box. He will chase you and get a 100% confirmed Chain Hunt.
If he intercepts you, he gets Chain Hunt.
If nobody goes for it, he gets Chain Hunt.
Plus, the Box is still ######### bugged. It will spawn Chains way after you begin solving it. I've had them spawn when I'm halfway done with it. That can literally be the difference between winning and losing.

No, Survivors without communication won't always be bad against Pinhead.
You don't need communication to go: "Box, imma go get it" and do the box. Will you have 2 Survivors go for the box sometimes? Sure, but it's not that huge of a time waste.
If Chain Hunt activates, it's a skill issue from the Survivors

Don't get me wrong, I hate Pinhead more than anything in the game. But I respectfully disagree here. It takes 45 seconds for the box to respawn after a survivor solves it, and you have 90 seconds to solve it.
And if you're holding the box, dodge 3 chains and then solve it. Then you won't get disrupted.
0 -
Ok then the holder needs to be immune to the chain hunt so they can solve it I totally agree with that tbh and I see your point as well.
All my experiences were nobody but me would try and go for it causing it but the chains made it impossible even after the pause in chains

So is there a way to find it decently at the start if the survivors bring the shroud of union?

Pinhead box absolutely should be on rework list. Too abusable like with franklins and too punishing for solos

Aha. Fng Otz. Lol.

Trying to solve that ######### box during a chain hunt is the singular-most irritating and rage-inducing moment of this game for me. I can cope with everything else (even though dropping a pallet instead of removing the chains irks me), but that moment really is the worst thing about that killer.

dodge 3 chains and start solving it and you won't get interrupted.
plus the box actually takes a decent time to respawn then 90 seconds to start a chain hunt again (slightly less with addons)
there are 4 survivors constantly moving everywhere on the map why is it so hard that the closest one just solves the box when they're by it? whether he gets use out of his passive or not is in the survivors hands unless it's a hoarder pinhead maybe.

There are definite patterns as to where survivors spawn and if you play enough killer its like starting the game with a weaker lethal persuer. The box tends to spawn in an area where neither the killer nor the survivors spawned so you can sort of tell once you know where the survivors did spawn. Also lethal persuer shows every survivors spawn (if they didnt spawn as a group) which makes it super easy to know the wherabouts of the box.

Then people will complain because they cant loop him at all.

The box respawn rate is fine. A good fix would be to make the great skill check zone smaller and make it so PH can't use his teleport/freeze move if you get the great skill check but he can if you miss it. At the moment no one is doing the box because its essentially a free down for him. You can say 'git gud at looping' all you want... but they've literally just made that harder too. The issue is no one wants to do the box and most matches just devolve into an endless chain hunt. Incentivize doing the box in a more balanced way and more people will.

You will still get interrupted.
