Taking One for the Team achievement rework

First, here its description: "Protect a recently unhooked Survivor by taking a hit near them 250 times."

This achievement is in the current state of the game is completly counterproductive and should be change to "protect an injured survivor by taking a hit near them 250 times".

My point is that with the free 5 seconds endurance after the unhook, it is 5 seconds less over 7 seconds (the time in which you need to take the protection hit after the unhook) where you do not have to take a hit if the unhooked survivor can take it. It means that it encourages a behavior that is going likely to make you throw the game and the chance to take the hit in between the 5 and 7 second is very small.

I think reducing the number of hit is not as well a solution because for all the completionists out there, this would mean throwing games. I have around 800 hours in the game and I had only 180/250 before I started to focus on this achievement. In 10 hour of playing the game focussing on this goal, I got 24 protection hits under the current conditions.

I have only 2 achievements left so I cannot focus on other achievements while this one just happens on its own as it should normaly do.

So if not for me, but for other players that want to get this achievement without spending hours of throwing games, it would be a nice thing to change this achievement.

With the Base kit borrowed time and especially with the increase coming to it, More unhooks are happening in front of the killer. So there's still value in taking that protection hit to try and get the killer to switch targets, Especially if the person you unhook is on death hook

Still the window of time to get it is small, even if you follow the survivor after the unhook to protect them, after 7 seconds you do not get any progression for the achievement. Also I read about how to get the achievement and someone was suggesting to run empathy to get as close as possible from survivor so you can get the unhook in the face of the killer. So if it is not throwing the game, I don't know what it is.

You still get progress for protection hits if the survivor has endurance when you take the hit because they're still injured so as long as you are hit near them it counts. I got this trophy while running BT as a perk so the endurance they receive from basekit BT won't prevent you from from getting this challenge done. The only time you wouldn't get the protection hit is if they are running Adrenaline and it was activated while they were on the hook because they'll be fully healed once they're off the hook.

Just play normal instead of trying to get the achievement done because it will eventually happen. Odds are you're actually making more unsafe unhooks and getting the unhooked player tunneled instead of getting the protection hits you want.

@Simfeliz BHVR would change it, not Sony though. I think achievement work differently from Steam to PlayStation, so the numbers might be different, I am not totally sure though.

@bm33 if you would have read my second message, you would have seen that I have only 2 achievements to do and even after 800 hours I did not get this achievement before. Also some people are completionists and they will try to get this achievement whatever it takes. Actually lowering the number of hits to get the achievement will make it happen earlier and on its own could be a small fix, but maybe not for the completionists.

I really think overall that achievements or challenges should always be a real challenge, not something that make you go out of your way to play the game and here with the current changes I think taking a hit by unhooking in the face of the killer and when you could have let the survivor take the hit in the next 5 seconds is really unecessary.

If you have all the trophies except this one then it seems like it is a real challenge for you. I regularly take hits for survivors I unhook that the killer is trying to tunnel out so they can maximize the unhook speed boost from BT to get away, it really isn't something that requires going out of your way.

Sony doesn't allow devs to change achievements unless that achievement is no longer possible to complete - this challenge is possible just takes a bit of time. The devs aren't going to change a challenge unless they can change it on all platforms.

I take hits when I need to take one for sure, I like to play as a team and get also the hard saves on hook in the end game collapse, I rather get such a save than just escaping.

How many hours do you have? I still see some people over 1000 hours that still do not have most of the achievements and I don't speak about adepts.

Maybe they just... don't care? Not everyone hunts achievements. I didn't even start until 1500 hours.

This was the last achievement I had to get to complete this game, and overall I found that in order to actually grind for it you basically had to throw the game which is incredibly annoying. I can only imagine with these recent BT changes it's gotten more frustrating
