Dead Hard is again the most used exhaustion perk by a HUGE margin

It's time to bring out the nerf hammer boys. My suggestions:

  • Can't be used within 10 meters of pallets or windows
  • Reduce duration to 0.4
  • Causes a special deep wounds that takes 50% longer to mend
  • Exhausted for 60 seconds after use instead of 40
  • Doesn't work against killers special attacks
  • Permanent 5% hindered on any user running the perk
  • Half the speedboost of a normal hit
  • Disabled after 1 gen has been completed

Sounds reasonable, yes?

It's a joke lad. I just noted that it had gone from 18% or so up to 20%, surpassing the other exhaustion perks and made this shitpost as a response. We'll see how the usage evolves over time. I don't mind DH being the most used exhaustion perk, it's not unfair anymore. It can still be unfun to against sometimes, but as long as there's more variety than before in survivor builds, I'm okay with that.

Thank you for confirmation ! ^^'

For what it's worth, I see a lot of new survivors trying it out and some of them do really well with it. It's nice that even though a lot of users have a hard time letting go of old DH, a good fraction of beginners are taking it in stride very well.

By the logic from the last patch, you're right! Any perk that is used a lot should be nerfed accordingly.

(Before people come for me - yes I agree DH really needed nerfing last patch, but some of the perks they touched on both sides didn't)

Dead hard should as the name implies make the survivor dead and the game harder for the survivors.

Huh? Clearly Windows of Opportunity is what needs nerfed, it is picked more than FREAKING dead hard! That means it is busted!!!1!!

I still see Sprint Burst more regardless.

Holy #########! It’s like killer mains never stop crying about every single survivor perk.. Dead Hard is fine, just let it go. It’s already nerfed and you still complain about it?

Killers got NINE of their best, meta perks nerfed to uselessness.

    Survivors got FOUR.

Dead Hard got reworked to be nearly identical to what it was (and is, in fact, stronger in some situations). This was the single most-used perk before (75% of the user base used it)

Borrowed Time got BETTER. It was the 2nd most used (50%).

Bruh, it was 80% usage before, this new DH is perfect

Edit: Ok, I deciphered the irony, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually wanted to nerf this again, people are stupid

I checked the site BBQ and Jolt are top 2 and top 3 most used killer perks lol, some perks like deadlock are not even top 10, most used doesn't mean much

Well yeah it's still good. It's just not busted anymore. I think it's fine.

Its usage rate was 74% at the highest brackets.

    74.

    I think DH is alright.

But personally I don't like any sort of endurance perks. It feels more like the devs gave up and came up with some boring shield to address some issues instead of introducing something new or interesting

In the meantime, I get so much value off of Balanced Landing and has been my most consistent new perk to last longer in chases. Granted I'm now entirely depending in which map RNG decides to throw me into.

Keeping in mind, I am from Latin America and my ping is always 100+ ms so latency will always kill me with new DH sadly.

Windows of Opportunity actually is busted as hell. I wish they would have made DH do literally anything else besides this timed tank hit stuff because it's very unfun having to delay hitting a survivor to wait out DH STILL

The only reason dh received a change was because of it being imbalanced. It doesn't need to be changed again after it just received a massive one. It also doesn't need to be nerfed in to the ground with the changes you're suggesting. It's a balanced perk now, and does not need to be touched in any way.

I know this post is a joke, but just in case some people actually come on here and wholeheartedly agree, this is my response lol.

Dead Hard is fine now, is a great perk and need skill to use it now.

I have no idea what "get gut" means but I do know that eventually the players that need everything to be easy will want it nerfed as well.

This is absurd enough to become humor, it's pretty much an obvious shitpost xP

But since there are suggestions, Dead Hard should occupy 4 perk slots, and also disable item and offering slots. It also should function the same way as Coup de Grace, where you get 1 token per gen completed, and consumes one when using, except the tokens are gained when a survivor gets killed.

And after using it once, it inflicts Broken for the remainder of the trial, as well as a 120 second Blindness and Obliviousness effect as a homage to the old "Dead Hard into wall" tech we used to see.

And last but not least, it has a 25% to instantly close down DbD, incurring in a DC penalty, every time it's used, and unlearns the perk from that character, requiring you to buy it again from the Bloodweb.

Now this, ladies and gentlemen, and ladies who dress as gentlemen, is how we bring true absolute balance to the game.

The previous DH was an abomination. I'm just mentioning that as I can't believe I'm about to write my next paragraph.

The current DH is fine. It rewards skill and timing and provides about as much value as SB and Lithe (which are also fine). It has its advantages and disadvantages as well and your own table show it's used as about as often as Lithe and SB.

I still can't believe I'm uttering these words but current DH is a well designed perk.

DH is still used a lot, but it may be the best perk design ever. At least if you ask me. It's so much fun to use, and as a killer, I LOVE it when people manage to pull off a nice DH against me. It usually doesn't work out so well though. It definitely doesn't compare to the old bullshit we had. It is an amazing perk now.

Haha OP,you nearly got me and I was already grinding my gears, but luckily I skimmed over the thread before posting :>

Yeah, I noticed the prevalence of DH again, too. You can now basically anticipate the perk just like before, but you know what? Now I don't rant care :) BHVR pulled off the impossible and nerfed DH,without "nerfing it into the ground" or "nuking it from orbit". It might be just as strong, with its easy activation whenever needed, but it's now much more skillful and fair. When I get hit by it I flare with anger! At myself for falling for that very foreseeable trap! And just keep chasing. And I am learning, seeing the telltale signs of a deliberate turn into me in order to trigger my killer instincts with better and better accuracy.

    Bravo, BHVR :>

Honestly I'd even be fine with it being increased to .75s to help compensate for lag. I do agree that 1s was too long in the original test, but lag sometimes makes .5 a little too punishing.
