What if letting go of the exit door lever made a loud noise notification
Just a thought i think might be cool, a little tidbit of information to the killer, and also mind-gameable by survivors, wha you think?
to rizzo: Well, uh, i... ok

why

Prior to the patch I use to think that 99ing gates was too strong of a play. But after the recent nerfs to end game perks, I no longer think survivors need any more nerfs in end game.

As a killer main I think that might make it too hard for the last survivor to open the gate if the hatch gets closed.

Yeeeaaah, it's already hard enough for the last survivor as it is. There are only two gates for the killer to patrol in endgame, and they can always see the auras, so they don't need any more information...

This is a short-sighted, pointless suggestion where there is no mutual benefit to be gained. It merely helps the killer. That's it.

Not if it only made the loud noise notification if the door was over 50% progressed.
That would keep the current partial door strategy intact for the 1v1, and at the same time give the killer a small boost for when the doors get 99%ed

This would only be relevant in a situation where the last Survivor is trying to open the door and lets go before the first light appears. So it would remove the one thing the Survivor can actually do when they are the last person and the Hatch was closed.
Other than that, the only information the Killer would get would be that the Door is at 99%. And this would not help at all.
Pointless when the Survivors finished the Gens and lowering the chance for the last Survivor. Not a good idea.

I'm guessing to counter the 'c' strategy? For those who don't know - when gates are close together and killer is patrolling them, sometimes you can manage a last second escape by opening the gate up to the c in 'escape', before the first red light switches on. It's pretty much the only way some of us even get that slim window of opportunity to escape. It'd be great if we could continue to have some hope of getting out, instead of having that nerfed too.

Sounds like it would extrememly benefit the killer in a 2v1 scenario or when there's 1 survivor left and hatch is closed, since the strategy for that is start opening up the gate just before the red light shows and let go, then wait for the killer to come and check the gate and leave, then finish opening that gate.
So I think this would be a bad idea. Would make it pretty much impossible to escape against the killer in these scenarios, and it is already quite difficult to escape in solo queue right now, so no thanks.

What about the exit gates taking 3 minutes to open?

I sometimes like to 24% gates while killer patrols and try to rush the last 76% when they go back to patrol the other gate. Seems like it just punishes 24%ing

@Rizzo y'see this is why i originally put this in the discussions forum instead of feedback, so that the people who understood why this wasn't a good idea for reasons i didnt think about didnt feel the need to absolutely dunk on me for their perception that im a selfish killer main who wants the worst for survivors, cuz thats what im feelin right now. ya stank

If it kicked in at 50% that would fix this, and still give the killer info for the 99% exit gates.

theres already a fairly loud audio cue as well as red blinking lights. If they open the gate under your nose, you patrolled poorly. You dont need every advantage to get a 4k

It's not about a 4k, killers dont stomp survivors every game, they still sometimes get 0k and 1k games too.
If the loud noise notification happened after 50% it wouldnt change anything to do with the 1v1 strat, because a survivor aint letting go of the door over 50% unless the killer found them. Heck even make it 75% when the third light comes on.
What this would do is give the killer info on gates that are 99% and maybe make for a more entertaining game when its a 4v1/3v1, maybe it would lessen camping for the 1k, if the killer knew where the 99% gate was they maybe try to make a play on it instead of camping the hook in the endgame. You cant always hear the gate being 99% when your chasing someone on the other side of the map.
It could also work to help as a diversion for survivors try and draw the killer to one gate and then sneak away to help buy time to get the other gate opened.
