Killer is to easy, even against SWAT squads
There, I said it.
The game has cater way to much toward newcomers to the point us more experienced killer players really dont feel we have much of a challenge anymore.
Killers need to be toned down a bit, I dont say that my role should be gutted, just make it slightly more difficult again.
Winning is fun, I enjoy getting 4ks, but I dont like how almost every game feel like a walk on the beach
Edit: You guys do know its fine to have a negative opinion over your own main role, it dosent make u a liar or someone who pretend to be a killer main but is actually a survivor main in disguise. I just happened to have a lot of experience in the game, I done it all u can think of, seen it all, played it all.
I just think kiiller isnt as satisfying or rewarding as it used to be. I am aware many killers cannot win their games against best of the best, but u really think it would be healthy for the game if it was balanced around the top of the top players? the reason why this works in other games is due to them having a consistent ranked system where u get paired with other players in your own skill level. DBD MMR is not consistent, I either get players with 500 hours or 5000 hours.

Aight.

Sad part is all those experienced killers are going to get soft from all the easy kills.
But hey, anyone with a pulse can do killer now so it's good.
6 -
Pretty sure u dont even need a pulse either anymore :I
1 -
U clearly don't know what ur talking about, but ok
22 -
Nice try, Mr. Survivor main
22 -
If killer is to easy, then just play survivor for the challenge? You even get a bloodpoint bonus!
19 -
Me, from my personal perspective as a Survivor Main, I think killers are fine strength wise. I appreciate the challenge and that you have to work hard to get an escape. Perhaps you could play some survivor since you are a killer main who doesn't play survivor?
It is a very fun challenge and very rewarding right now. If we nerfed killers, it would be too easy, like before Dead Hard was reworked, and playing survivor wouldn't be fun anymore.
I think my role (survivor) feels fine, and that killer doesn't need changes.
1 -
I am playing survivor occasionally, gets a bit boring however after some games due to the gameplay loop of it. Happy grinding some of that BP to prestige my Huntress doe

I am pretty much playing 60/40 or even 70/30 killer and survivor, survivor being a challenge is fun, I just cant play it as long as killer, M1 simulator isnt the most interactive gameplay really
0 -
What kinds of builds do you run? I think if you unequip slowdown the games should get tougher.
0 -
I prefer it this way tbh. I'd rather Killer not be as horribly weak as before.
7 -
Game is in a much healthier state despite some unbalances here and there. At least people actually want to play killer.
Hasn't been like that since swf was introduced.
2 -
So funny, all these survivors mains making these posts. Good survivors are still dominating the game either way.
6 -
My 3 top current builds are:
Corrupt/Lethal pursuer/BBQ/Bitter murmur
Discordance/Nurses calling/Bitter mumur/Lethal pursuer
COB/Brutal/enduring/Flood of rage.
You dont really need to have the best slowdown or meta perks majority of ur games anyway, sure if go against a more competent team u might have to switch one or two perks out to stall the game, but those are like minority of matches you play, and no, I dont want the game to be balanced around those, cause its like at best 1 or 2 games u get per day depending how many matches u play
0 -
Never been a survivor main, I dedicate majority of time toward grinding out killer games as survivor gets boring real quick for me as I dont like spending all the day long just holding M1 moving my camera around pressing spacebar every now and then
0 -
signed, secretly, a survivor main.
11 -
I loop 1 pallet and then they immediately avoid me like a plague for rest of the match, having me end up being stuck doing gens rest of the match
0 -
Now hold on you dont tbag and click and meme nod at them when you outplay them do you?
0 -
No, why would I waste my time doing that instead of making distance to another pallet tile?
0 -
It's a great way to make killers chase you! They get angry, so they overcommit. You should do it after a pallet stun, missed hits, or after reaching a strong window. It's a tactical, psychological move that's very good to do when you have the chance, adds depth to the gameplay.
Do you know how to bind a flashlight macro?

I was thinking more smaller changes like addons and perk tweaks and maybe increase the time it take to reach bloodlust by 3-5 seconds or so, but that works too I guess?
0 -
and thats why I dont do it :D
0 -
I agree on this to a pretty large degree, killer games only becomes hard, if the odds are against u. but if its "even" or in your favor its pretty easy to win
2 -
So OP what is it that's making killers so "easy" now? Is it the changes to killer baseline from 6.1.0?
4.0 * 1.5 * 2 = 12 meters in 2 seconds
4.0 * 1.5 * 1.8 + (4.0 * .2) = 11.6 meters in 2 seconds
.4 meters impacted by the reduction of .2 seconds via the sprint burst nerf?
Or is it the .3 reduction to killer hit cooldown which would be
For 115% killers = 4.6 * .3 = 1.38 meters
For 110% killers = 4.4 * .3 = 1.32 meters
For a grand total impact of around ~ 1.8ish meters in chase? If not that then the only other changes are survivor meta perks being nerfed or the 10 seconds to gens. Or is it the kicking gens and pallets slightly faster that has tipped the scales so heavily?

Sorry I gotta include my biased take of only nurse threads and conversations pertaining too it, so yes, as a nurse main since 2016 I am bored please give me harder matches I should not be winning perkless nurse RPD against 7000 hour survivors I think with full loadouts and map offerings correlating to the map
1 -
None of these changes did do anything for killers, this is just a opinion I had after playing this game for almost over 5 years now
0 -
So you thought killers were overpowered prior to 6.1.0 even?
0 -
Disagree
0 -
I mean Nurse has never been a issue, she is balanced in core design, I even think double recharge is fine. Omegablink Nurse is kinda whatever now after it got nerfed.
But honestly if survivors lose against perkless Nurse thats not her issue, its not exactly hard to play against a perkless killer even someone like Nurse
0 -
not overpowered, just easy to play. I want it to be harder, more satisfying and rewarding
0 -
I don't follow, your statement is very abstract. How can killers be harder and also more satisfying and rewarding? The only thing I can think of that fits that bill is making killer significantly slower/clunkier/harder to use and then giving them one shots as a reward. Like what are you thinking of as a concrete example of a change to make killer harder but also more rewarding?
0 -
I mean yeah, killers used to be a lot clunkier back in the days. Longer time to pickup and hook, longer time to vault, Trapper setting down traps.........
now obviously I dont want that, but same time I do think killer is very smooth to play, maybe a bit to smooth?
I mean dont get me wrong, I know Blight has horrible collisions to this day, and dont even get me started on Billy as I have mained him for as long as I can remember. Nurse and her dead blinks, Huntress with invisible collisions blocking hatches, bubba being tantrum on nothing.
I think the devs honestly just need to take a look at maps first, RNGs, pallet spawns, collisions etc. once its fixed you can start to balance a lot of the very lethal mobility and ranged killers around that. Cause if u play a strong killer, lets say maybe Bubba and get a map like shelter woods that is known to often have a lot of dead zones and open areas, its not exactly super hard to win your game, the only thing that might make it some what difficult is the large size of the map.
I mean there are dozens of way to make killer harder without gutting them down to "unplayable", I mean a large portion of the killer roster are free to spam their power, zone out with ease, recover fast from missed attacks, low cooldowns etc.... and then you have killers like Billy who get punished for all of above, spam power to much? overheat that take years to cooldown of, zone break pallets but you get stuck in a long pallet break animation which gives survivor enough time to run across the map, miss his chainsaw? movement, and camera is slowed down and so on. I am not saying to butcher every killer power to billy level, but maybe they should use him as a bit of a exampel to increase the skill ceilling a little on other killers abilites.
Reward? I mean, more BP gain maybe even XP if you win, there isnt many rewards u can get in DBD anyway.I always thought that maybe if u get a perfect game or double pip you should be awarded with some extra BP or even shards

You're most likely referring to the squads that swarm around you like flies with their flashlights, barely doing gens at all. That group isn't fairly difficult. The ones that are difficult are the coordinated super efficient ones who bring toolboxes and split up on gens. Maybe go against a super good team, then make a play that snowballs the entire match. That's what excites me. Not every game killers play are just against 20 hour dwights and megs.
If you're getting easy no effort 4ks, maybe keep doing so until your mmr is high enough to go against stronger squads or solos. Lately my opponents have been pretty good at looping, not falling for simple mindgames. Killer isn't easy, going against people who barely have any knowledge on the game is boring.
1 -
I play on EU crossplay off, those are the teams I am getting
0 -
All it takes is splitting on gens and decent loopers to render most killers just an m1... Idk what swat teams you're going up against but must be pretty amateur.
0 -
What perks do you run? Do you run a lot of slowdown? And what killers do you play?
0 -
My current mains are: Hillbilly / Huntress / Twins / Oni
I also play occasionally Demo, Nurse, Doctor and Hag .
Perk builds are very mixed on slowdown, chase and info. So things like Corrupt, flood of rage, bamboozle, etc
0 -
I'd say play keep playing huntress and hillbilly if you're tired of winning too much. Both feel super rewarding to win with, but take a good amount of skill. For huntress, don't only use her hatchets when in loops, try going for more crossmap shots. Nothing feels more rewarding than hitting some dude across the map.

These posts are really transparent. It's like something I would have thought was clever when I was a teenager.

I can't tell whether OP is trying to boast or is genuinely a bit out of touch with the lived reality of most players. BHVR enacted the Killer buffs and gen adjustments in 6.1.0 because, according to them, too many Survivors were escaping and a lot of Survivor perks were just annoying to play around as Killer. If the game is too easy for you currently, try doing something different: play a new Killer, mix up your perks, experiment with add-on combos. It is, after all, a game: the primary objective should be having fun, and if for you that means not always winning then so be it. If you're as good as you say, you've probably already hit Iri 1 and have plenty of BP to spare. Failing that, maybe take a break and play something else? DBD is a fun game but it's not the only fun game.

Honestly, the second anyone claims they 4k "good" survivors, you can immediately throw their opinion out the window. Whatever they think is good are the same survivors everyone is 4king. Maybe it is a little different as Nurse, but most people literally give up against a good Nurse instead of playing it out. So cleaning up a team with a thrower is usually not a difficult task either, even if they were hypothetically a team that would have stomped another killer. These good teams are rare, obviously, especially with the loose mmr. But they certainly exist. And to be real, most people here already outed themselves as low to mid mmr back when it was at its tightest. And what do most of them have in common? They post a lot about the survivor experience.
Who would have guessed that survivor dedicated players were never playing against high ranks in their killer lobbies? Not me. Lol.
2 -
Agreed. Reason why I started playing Survivor after 6.1 The games were just too easy most of the time.
1 -
I must be in the top 0.1% of killers for my matches then, or you're just so low MMR your matches are easy.
I get maybe 1 match out of 10 where the survivors are bad enough to allow themselves to be 4k'd. You have no clue what you're talking about.
0 -
being in top% dosent really mean anything in DBD, anyone can get to it with cheese builds and strats, map offerings etc. to many people claims to be in top%. top% MMR is hardly a minority thing in DBD, sure I will sometimes face the same players every now and then, but its not really that often.
MMR is not consistent on the "skill" part of the matchmaking either, I have played games against survs with 300 hours, and survs with 6000 hours as the same killer
1 -
top% this top% that. top% does not exist in DBD, the MMR is too inconsistent to allow it to exist. I can play a session of a specific killer, and I am pretty much going against survivor with 500 hours one match, then next match its survivors with5000 hours, no matter what time it is.
Anyone can reach the MMR soft cap by just grinding the game out for hours in and out
1 -
which is why mmr should have been removed a week after it was introduced. mmr in this game is a joke and its amazing that bhvr continues to try and gaslight people into thinking it's a necessary and functional system
how the hell am i in a killer queue for 10 minutes in a game that has 40,000 players daily and never having fair matches, whether it's me crushing survivors or survivors crushing me.
