fix dead hard
the delay on the activation on dead hard, fix it.
50% or more of the time, im in a sprint, i press dead hard, and it doesnt work. fix it.
for all the 100 hour killer mains that occupy the forums and reply "skill issue" and don't actually play the game, they've added a delay to dead hard. its not ping, even though that plays a factor in everything else in the game, its not a skill issue, its a they nerfed it twice and didn't mention it. if i press shift and my dead hard button, it should work just like any other exhaustion perk. fix this mess.

Dead hard has pretty much always been a meme for leaving you exhausted on the ground. The only reliable use for it was distance, and that's gone. Now it's just "hope the latency doesn't screw your millisecond timing".

It's not a skill issue. It's as you say. You either press it too early and look dumb, or you press it too late and get nothing.

That delay you mean, input delay?
Because I play on controller and this input delay + latency are making use of DH a meme at the best.
Which is a shame cause I like new DH in theory and wanted to give it a chance

Well Survivors in my games have no problem activing it in time and I don't have the problem much eaither.

Oh boy...
Deadhard is absolutely perfectly balanced and fine. If u press E too late or too early, you get punished. If not, you receive a Sprint Boost and a 3rd Health-State. It depends on the survivor-player alone to time it right.
The only issue is the animation, which will be fixed in the upcoming patches.

I think some people want a guaranteed DH. Like, no matter how close the killer is, as soon as you see his weapon move for 0.1 sec you press E and escape. That's not how it works and hell it shouldn't. I agree with you that DH is perfectly balanced right now.

no, you cannot react to most killers m1 that is not how you use deadhard, you have to make them swing at you. even old dead hard if you werent dead harding to a pallet was used the same exact way. you don't know what youre talking about.

More like a platform issue. If you press a button and it takes that long for it to activate thats something going wrong locally.

killer and survivor pings have to be below 100 to make it work reliably. thats why i dont understand why they allow player with red ping on the server.

No I see survivors pressing it after lunge it just probably console player trying to use it but on pc you can use it after killer already hit you.

no i completely understood what you wrote, nobody is reacting to your m1's with DH, you are just a bot and they read you like a book. m1 is not able to be reacted to, i can prove it in a custom with you if you want, ive proved it on players with 5k hours
even old dead hard, if killer is inside of you and m1's you cant react

the amount of times the killer has downed me mid-animation dead hard is just ridiculous. i've pretty much just given up on that perk and just use sprint burst now. The problem with the perk isn't the timing or duration, it's the core functionality of the perk itself which is out of the player's control. baisically, the perk doesn't work even when it's supposed to and the player uses it correctly

Dead Hard is fine they should just fix the Auto Dead Hard i See so many Survivor who always Hit Dead Hard to 100% even if i try to bait it out or Hits where it should be Impossible to Time it so correct

The nerf from 1-second endurance to 0.5 was unnecessary. In theory, the new DH is really good, but it just falls short in execution because it's so unreliable. People love to say "it's about skill", but even the most perfectly-timed DH can fall flat due to ping and game servers. When it works, it's amazing and far supersedes old DH, but at the moment, it's just too risky when you compare it to failproof exhaustion perks like SB and Lithe.

Maybe not have it work regardless of killer distance, but at least having it not depend on server lag would certainly be a fair ask.
It's not even that the perk can't be used reactively anymore, it still can, but it's completely inconsistent right now, even top players inexplicably miss it sometimes.
Let's be honest, how many hours have you played the new DH? It took me 1 day to realize something was not right with this perk, and I've seen many other people complain about a weird undocumented activation delay, it's definitely not a coincidence. I still think it's a solid perk, but I've stopped using it because it's just way too frustrating to use.

i've possibly had two occurances of this issue, one against a Wesker earlier today and just a few moments ago vs a Freddy. Which is weird because these 2 situations aside i've been getting good value out of DH. I helped a teammate escaped because i DH'ed a hit intended for him, allowing him to keep running for exit and i got my speed boost aswell, so it's not my timmings that aren't good. Against Wesker i guess it's possible i missed time it but against Freddy just moments ago i know i had the correct timming.

How many hours have I played with the new DH? More than I would like to admit. I got used to the little delay pretty quickly. At first I even hated DH because of it, but now I love it. I've understood how DH works and what makes this perk so balanced.
But what do you mean by "even top players inexplicably miss it sometimes"? I'm pretty sure the devs never intended DH to provide a guaranteed escape. Of course, they will fail sometimes if the killer is somewhat experienced.

im use to it when discussing the state of survivor with killer players. they lie and minimize and do whatever they can to keep all forums killer concentrated

See this clip for example:
It's Probzz a 5000+ hour player.
The lunge was very predictable, just before a pallet, after she ignored the fake, a player like Probzz should have no trouble hitting that consistently.
If you watch frame-by-frame you can see he actually pressed the button and the animation started. And yet he still got hit.
Do you think the killer is "somewhat experienced" here? No, he just happens to be lucky that it was one of these weird circumstances DH didn't work.

Except for the fact that this game isn't on a LAN network. If the killer hit him before he dead harded on his screen then whose version of events is correct? According to what we know and what BHVR has claimed there is server side logic for dead hard validation which would mean in this clip the killers "hit" got to the server before the survivor players dead hard did. The fact that he isn't exhausted on the ground supports this.
Latency cuts both ways killers sometimes see hits taken away that seem extremely BS and so do survivors.

Edit: Maybe it's a connection problem, since my guy Probzz plays with his viewers most of the time. And if they are on the other side of the world, the killer could be there too. Such situations can happen then.

It happens all the time, to me, streamers, and people on this forum. I have other clips like this. The perk is bugged. Dead hard validation should be client-sided like old dead hard was.

yes, i am a fair man. I have my opinions about how much skill killer takes, as someone who has played other games at high levels that actualyl require skill, I also am very hard on myself with my own gameplay, so for these noobs to compare me to someone who comes and complains about a skill issue when all im trying to say is that my perk is not working half of the time, i take it seriously. so in short, yes i will be happy if they make dead hard work, ill really be happy if they revert it and realize the people that got it nerfed are just bad players.

I honestly thought it was fine at the first nerf (one second of endurance), and now not only do you get half of that, you don't even get it instantly when you press the perk button. Good thing I did dead hard archives pre-nerf smh.

I have the same problem as you, I'm sick of being knocked down even using the perk the right way.
I was starting to think that maybe it was a problem with my keyboard until I changed the behavior of the key and set it to something else, like the mouse. And still, it kept failing.
I love the redesign of dead hard, but you can't use it like that unless you're lucky.

People who say it works consistently are not being honest. Timing is irrelevant sometimes and it is not because I am console when it happens to pc survs also.
Sometimes it doesn't proc even when you do it too early.
