Could you at least pretend to care about Totem spawns? It's seriously uncool how bad they are
Especially on the newer maps, it wouldn't kill you or cost you anything to pick a totem spawn that isn't blatantly out in the open where everybody except the blind can see it.
Take an extra 5 seconds and move them 5 feet to a slightly better spot, not impossible but at least not pathetically obvious some intern spammed them randomly around the damn map.
Okay? Thanks

Remember the "lighthouse totem" on top of the hill? That got removes because it was too obvious. Some patches later they reintroduced them on the map reworks. I still don't understand why.
The problem is that AFAIK every map tile has its own totem spot. And for some map tiles these are quite bad (e.g. LT wall, 4-lines).in general all common map tiles have universal totem spawns wich are the same across maps. Then there are some new tiles or special tiles where totems are better hidden.
But the real problem are still the survivor spawns. No totem will spawn in a 32m radius of you if you have direct LOS. But... You can still spawn on a totem you have no LOS on at the start of the match. In some matches I just turned around 180° and found a Hex. Sometimes you don't see it, but you hear it right next to you.

Frankly they should remove Hex sounds. They are way to easy to find atm, Hex's are a joke and the only ones worth running are Undying and Devour Hope.

The sound is OK especially for indoor maps where you have more difficulties to find them.
But you should definitely not spawn next to a totem.

Try to find that totem on lerys. Or sometimes on swamps (swamps have some easy spots and then some very random spots). And it doesn't even matter if you know spawns of lerys...

Yeah I think the sound is fine, but they need to hide them better. No out in the open totems, but they can be heard. I think its a fair deal but atm its just bad for both Hexes and Boons.

I think it would be interesting if killers could choose where to light their hexes, which wouldn't be activated until the Killer went and lit it themselves. The only things that would stop this are auto-lighting Hexes like Undying, NOED, etc.
Would also change up Haunted Grounds and Retribution hex totems a little bit, because the Killer might CHOOSE to light it in an obvious location to get Survivors to break it- making the Killer trapping that hex totem a little more literal.
I also think this could introduce some new Hex perk flavouring, like Hexes only activating once X conditions have been met, maybe even a task the Killer needs to do
Example: A Hex Totem that automatically lights itself when a survivor is injured, but then un-lights itself and de-activates when that Survivor gets healed. But for how long that Hex totem is active, the Survivors suffer some bad bad debuff like a major repair speed thing, but if Survivors go and break the hex totem wherever it is then it won't ever re-light itself again.
Hexes that light themselves for whatever reason would become a different category of perk from hexes the Killer chooses to light

Hexes are dead. Just stop running them. Maybe when the usage rate reaches 0 they'll bother to take a look at spawns.

They are very far from dead. It's not rare thing that hexes cost me (as a survivor) the game. Namely undying + dhope, pentimento+plaything, Blood favor on some killers, even NOED can still change the game (especially if you down/hook survivor very close to it).
