Sprinting is a crutch for survivors
No human on planet Earth can sprint forever. So why can survivors?
The lack of a stamina system encourages mindless shift w playstyle that's more akin to Call of Duty than in depth and strategic game like this. How many times have survivors been chased by a killer only just to sprint away with no regard for strategy or sense of urgency. Its just find the next vault/pallet and repeat.
This is just unfun gameplay. Instead, a stamina bar should be added so survivors can only sprint for a limited time (like 30 seconds) before having to slowly regain their stamina. BHVR can counteract this by making the sprint faster and introducing more places to hide and changing the lightning on the maps. At least then this will be a horror game.

This would require a complete overhaul of the game's design and coding. Considering matches last, what? Like 10 minutes? And survivors have downtime (healing, repairing, etc.) I don't think it's that unrealistic or impossible.
I wouldn't call it 'mindless' when survivors run whilst being chased. Remember, the killer has everything in their favor as they're faster than the survivors and also have powers to help assist them to get downs, so the survivors have to strategize during the chase as they have to preempt the killer's movements.
You're essentially suggesting killers get easy downs and cut down chases to 30 seconds - this makes no sense. Saying that running is 'crutch' for survivors is like saying a killers power is 'crutch': that's kinda the idea.

Genuine idea from a called player 'Basement_Bubba420' rofl
"This is just unfun gameplay."
The funny part can be different for others... Where is your funny part in this game ?
"Instead, a stamina bar should be added so survivors can only sprint for a limited time (like 30 seconds) before having to slowly regain their stamina."
Exhaustion already exists (it's like the need to breathe after a run). Play some Rogue-like/Souls-like if you can't bear the Shift+W or if the lack of stamina feels too unrealistic for you...
"BHVR can counteract this by making the sprint faster and introducing more places to hide and changing the lightning on the maps."
They already have so many things to do/to fix before adding some new mechanics, particularily when these new stuffs will change so many others in game.
"At least then this will be a horror game."
Who said DbD is a horror game and why should it be a horror game ? Animations with some blood, proximity of a killer ?
This game is more a Hit & Run than a horror game...

I just finished my 48 minute run IRL - without stopping or being chased by a killer. I have never seen DBD match taking this long. Also usually you are not chased during whole match (48 minute tunneling one survivor? That stinks of a bad setup).
Also - it's not a sprint. There is sprint in a game and it is a perk - but you can use it for waaaay shorter then in real life (trust me - I can sprint for at minimum a whole minute if I really need to) - so should we make this aspect of the game more realistic?
Also you want to force walking survivor after 30s chase? Why? Because you are not a good killer? Should survivors just drop dead if they somehow open exit gates too?

Lol no.

1: When a person's life is on the line they can run for a very long period of time.
2: After a while the killer gets a speed boost. If you really want to just think of this as the survivor slowing down, but the gameplay being more clear.
3: As mentioned there are clearer sprint actions in the game that have a pretty clear limit.
4: I can heal a hook through the chest with my hands. The idea that survivors don't exactly have normal bodies is pretty obvious.

No human on planet Earth can sprint forever. So why can survivors?
because they are not on planet earth but in the Entity’s realm. Also this is a videogame and these are just fictional characters.
this has something to do with game design and balancing. Otherwise we would need to question all the other stuff like how all survivors can repair generators, getting pierced through the shoulder and being play after a back rub etc..

Ideas like these are reasons why BHVR likely dont pay attention to the forums

the username alone is really the punchline lmaooo

Can we first worry about all of the other issues with the game
Then maybe they can think of putting that into the game... but then again this is just a game

It’s a fictional game…

#########? I'm killer main and man... There's nothing wrong about survs running, give a break on DBD, you need.

We already have a character who’s:
Dead, yet revived
Perpetually choking
Floating
Phasing through solid objects
If it’s realism you’re after, you’re playing the wrong game.

BHVR said it was a asymmetrical horror game.

This literally sold itself. Comedy GOLD. 😂🤣

Yup. User pretty much makes sense

I’m assuming this is a reference to the many posts we get about killer “crutches” but also people seem to forget that in the development days there was a plan to make it so survivors fatigued. Making them run slower the longer they ran, everyone also had a built in sprint burst. This was of course scrapped but I’d be curious to see how it would fit in now as i think it would add for more survivor skill expression.

Its important to keep in mind DBD is not inherently a competetive game, and it wasnt really made to be that way. Sure, the devs try their best to make it as fair and fun as possible, but making it progressively harder and harder for people to play the longer the games been around isn't really their prerogative, and doesn't make a multiplayer horror game.

Adding this to the game now would just make it even harder for survivors to escape. The whole game is built around survivors being able to run, you cant change that now. And if this game was realistic in any way, survivors would have no chance. One slap on that hook and most people would die very quickly. This game isn't meant to be realistic. It's designed so that both sides have an equal chance to win (or at least are meant to have an equal chance)

lol was this a joke? did you come in here expecting realism from a GAME? no human on earth can run that long? you telling me you cant run for more than 5 minutes? did you seriously ask them to change the whole game system just cause you cant chase? maybe stop camping? you know what they say , campers are bad chasers . time to get out of your mom's basement and touch some grass and build up some stamina too so you can run more than 5 minutes rofl
