Are AFK crows supposed to spawn even when you move around?
So I was playing a game against a plague, they managed a 3k since others kept cleansing at every chance they got and when the third survivor died I was the last left and tried to find the hatch. Turns out though the found the hatch the moment 3rd survivor died, but they refused to close it. I snuck past their field of vision wanting to make a cheeky play and possibly outlast them by walking from obstacle to obstacle. The entire time I was staying near their terror radius but out of sight. The killer though was actually AFK just standing on the hatch and I krept closer and tried to nudge their body off the hatch because at this point i was being held hostage.
Didn't matter though because an AFK crow spawned on me, and the killer didn't move because they were still afk though I've been moving the whole time. The crow stayed on me for a full minute despite me moving around and I think eventually the killer came back then closed the hatch because the crow alerted them of where I was.
Like do AFK crows just spawn like that even if you're moving? Especially near the killers TR?

The logic requires you to be moving between tiles,I think. It not taking the Killer TR into account seems a bit silly to me

That sucks, especially when the killer themselves was afk for minutes

I don’t think it has anything to do with tiles. There’s just some minimum amount of movement and time, unknown to me, that the survivors need to continue to move to avoid getting crows. And they only go away if you repair generators for another unknown amount of time to me.
OP could have repaired generators while the killer was AFK.

In my experience it is just tiles

AFK crows spawn if you remain in the same tile for long enough without interacting with anything.
Personally I think it should take killer proximity into account, but yeah, if you're pacing back and forth in the same small area, you'll still get crows.

Here’s how to avoid and get rid of crows: Imagine a line of 3 meters. Walk back and forth on that line. Also don’t stay in a locker. If you keep switching between lockers however, you can avoid crows too. Interact with a gen, totem etc.

To be clear you weren't being held hostage. You can still do gens to end the match if she's standing on the hatch.

I only new they were AFK once I got close to them, at that moment after attempting to move away once I tried to get into the hatch then the crow spawned and wouldn't go away.
Plus pretty much all gens left were regressed to 0%

@Laluzi is correct although I disagree with the comment that the killers radius should play a part.
I should also mention you cannot move any player by "nudge their body off the hatch" nor were you being ""held hostage" as you can always do generators. I would say I've been in that situation like many and if there are say 5 generators left then and the killer has found the hatch then they have won the right to win the match (whatever that means, 4k shouldn't be the win condition but i'm not lazy)

AFK crows spawn if you don't move a certain number of meters or interact with something after a set time. The distance you need to move isn't very far. Once active you need to move around further for a while to get rid of them to get rid of them.
That being said they do sometimes spawn quicker than normal, any will ignore that you've recently interacted with something. Not sure why.

Be careful about doing what many say to avoid afk crows though.....locker switching without doing Gens for a extended period of time will get you banned if the Killer reports you.
Also the killer wasn't holding the game hostage because you could still do Gens to escape, especially since the Killer was afk

The killer going afk for more than a minute is exceedingly rare, in my experience. I might go a month or two without seeing it. Definitely no more than one a week, at most.
But yeah, simply moving isn't enough to keep the crows from spawning, you have to move between tiles or work on something. Which is fair, really, because it's not hard to skulk around just enough to prevent it (on most maps), while remaining fairly well hidden. If it weren't we'd never get those 30-40 minute hide and seek affairs.
If it wasn't that way, survs could literally walk in circles in some hidden corner and drag matches on for ages.

Can't you just point or wave to prevent crows from spawning?
