I'm so, so, so tired of swinging on a survivor and this stupid game decides I really wanted to hit the wall next to them. Please, fix this garbage already.

It’s called “aimdressing”. Its purpose is to make hits looks cleaner, but has to throw the camera to do so, which sometimes throws the camera into walls/objects, which then completely stop the hit from happening in the first place.

Two years ago I was against the autoaim but now I think it is better to leave it in the game. Yes, the autoaim sometimes make you hit a wall or a corner and its very annoying but I think that removing autoaim would make the killers fail more hits when the survivors are trying to dodge a hit and they are out of your FOV next to you and that is worse than hitting a wall or corner sometimes.

They can tone down the "aim dressing" on Huntress while they're at it.

Oh the survivor is unhooking, I need to swing my weapon into the hooked survivor.

    Is somewhat frustrating.

It works both way. Last time I played nurse (to do my daily) I hit survivor like this without ever seeing him. Just push M1 and rotate your camera and it will pick closest target to you (be it rock or survivor next to you).

I think this feature should really go away. If I missed, then I should miss. If I hit my target, I should hit my target. No locking for environment or survivor is fair.

You can disable auto aim if you play the game on pc by going to your gameusersettings.ini file. There's a line of code that says "AimAssist=True" set it to False and boom, no aim assist. I cannot confirm nor deny that this wont get you banned but considering the fact that people have modified this game's gamefiles for literal years without getting banned, I highly doubt it will get you banned because if anything it provides you a disadvantage with certain killers like nurse or blight or wesker (basically any high mobility killer)

Honestly if it’s a simple true false option they should just add it to the game menu and let people turn it off if they prefer that. 🤷‍♂️

It does work both ways, and it's much more obvious when it goes wrong than when it actually earns you a hit. So chances are you benefit from it more than you don't.
