Is this holding the game hostage?
Survs stay more than 5 minutes hidden without making generators, getting the killer stuck in a game where he doesn't think the survs configure game hostage?

More than 5 min?
depends, how many were still alive, did they have something else to do (eg trying to find an active hex)? Was it a 3gen scenario, maybe they were hiding directly at the gens trying to get a good moment?
if you report it, remember that in-game report plus an additional player report ticket are mandatory and you should provide evidence/a clip of it as especially this is a case-by-case situation and in the end it kind depends if support agrees or not

In this situation there were 2 survs. They didn't try to make generators even though there was only 1 missing.
Both were hiding far away waiting for the other to be found to get the hatch (I believe).
But I've been to matches where the 4 hid and didn't try to touch any generators. Apparently it's a "pranky" when they don't like the killer or something.

I think that counts as taking game hostage.
Uhm. No? It’s one of the prime examples of taking the game hostage actually.

Look man. Folks like you with 11,000 posts are people in the community that newer players look up to and towards for information and some semblence of guidance.
Telling people that being immersed and hiding in the game is equivelant of "holding the game hostage" which is considered CHEATING... Poor form bro. Cuz if this were a factual statement, more than 40% of the survivor playerbase would be immediately banned.

Would be awesome if they get crows over their head in case they do not interact with gens in...5 mins? or so

Look man. The devs have stated it is considered taking the game hostage if all survivors in a match stop progressing the gens completely for a long time.
playing immersed and hiding is one thing. I never said that would be considered holding the game hostage. You still have to progress the game however.
also banning only happens if the players get reported with evidence. And then the support team from BHVR will decide if it is actually against the rules or not.
