Can we actually NERF Erruption?
This perk is a bane of SoloQ. So far the worst perk agains Solos.
Do SOMETHING!

Still insane to me that this new midchapter update featured no balance changes what so ever, despite camping and tunneling being such a problem, and perks like Eruption existing.

The solution is to git gud.
1 -
Only to have such a large list of bug fixes, and probably creating the same amount in the process.
0 -
Yeah... before its buff it was a pretty decent perk. Don't know why they buffed it.
2 -
base kit unbreakable a large nerf to tunneling and slugging will be released in the next upcoming update
Tunneling already got nerfed, with base kit BT, if it's not enough, there are perks you can bring to prevent that even further, but the base protection was added so they can't ultimately win with 0 effort
0 -
Since survivors already have Sprint burst and bt on base and possibly soon to be unbreakable, how about no

They don't even need to nerf eruption per se. They just have to shift its power so that it doesn't punish solos as much. Make it regress 15% instead, but make incapacitated 10 seconds.
It blows my mind that they let this perk be in this state for MONTHS. It is AWFUL! And the problem is not in the perk's powerlevel, its just literally garbage design, that doesn't consider the existence of soloQ
OR
It was balanced around soloQ, in which case it wasn't designed around SWF.
Can we please get any feedback about this perk?

Go save the survivor that just got downed. Don’t tell me you wait at the gen for 25 seconds…?
0 -
I actually think that 25 seconds of incapacitation would be too long.
Most of the reason survivors find games boring is the time they are unable to participate aggressively in the game. They will complain about the time spent on the hook or lying on the ground. (Or even holding the repair button would be boring. Conversely, you will also dislike excessive aggressiveness due to tunneling.)
And Eruption makes almost all actions necessary to progress through the game impossible for 25 seconds. I think this is a long time.
I think this idea should be tested. The numbers may need to be adjusted, but the percentage of retreat should be increased and the time of inability to act should be reduced.
This seems like an effective change even for SWFs that can avoid the loss of action itself.

What an ignorant comment by you.
"Go save the survivor..."
- What if I'm dead on the hook and supposed to be hiding from the killer in the first place?
- What if I'm injured and shouldn't go for the save?
- What if all my survivor teammates are incapacitated, do we all have to leave all gens and go for the save?
- What if further than 25 seconds away from me and it's simply inefficient for me to go for the save, especially that early?
- Insta-saving is usually not efficient anyways.
But even if we presume that your solution to the perk is valid (which again, I think is not), your comment misses the entire point which is:
- Why is this perk so much more punishing against solos than swf?
- If the perk is balanced around solos then why is it not punishing enough against swf?
4 -
Obviously, I don't know the exact numbers, but a perk should not punish (specifically) solo players this much.
This situation reminds me of the perk "knock-out". why the hell is this game in the game even? Thankfully it's not meta, because it's virtually useless against SWF, but it's the same situation.
BHVR was warned before about Eruption after they posted the patch notes. They didn't change anything and still not doing anything, while my suggestion fixes the major issue and it's essentially a number change, which should be done in less than a day with testing included.

Things you can do while waiting for incapacitated to expire.
😏 loop the killer
😎 save the survivor who was just downed
😲 look for hex totems
🤯 open an item chest
🤡 go afk
There’s plenty to do, but don’t go afk…

agreed, i would happily take more gen regression if the lowered the incapacitated effect
0 -
Yes. I support your idea.
0 -
did they actually confirm that base kit unbreakable and mori system would come? it seems to be agreed that both changes are a bad idea.
0 -
......??
0 -
There's no promise that the systems will come, but they were features put on this year's timeline of things they will get done and unlikely the talk of an early game system that ended up going nowhere they actually developed this system out to an extent.
My guess is we'll likely see a system similar to what was on the ptb, but likely quite different as they put on the ptb specifically to get feedback.
1 -
hopefully the system is completely different. its was a very unfun system

Speechless?
You can also trigger a bunch of loud noise notifications to draw agro away from the hook and make it easier for your team to save.
Incapacitated doesn’t stop you from vaulting, throwing pallets or getting in lockers. Think outside the gen.
Nothing is stopping you from doing a fast vault and then hiding in a locker to waste the killer’s time.

How useful is that BM in the progression of the game?
I was mute in my questioning against some of the possible actions you have presented if under the influence of the inability to act due to Eruption.
Could the chest be opened under the influence of the inability to act? I apologize if I am misremembering.
As I recall, there is nothing that can be done for a downed survivor as there is no treatment available.
Looping a killer? Why bother? Why should I make a disadvantageous choice in a downed situation?
The point of contention is that there is virtually nothing a survivor can do by making repairs that are essential to the progression of the game unfeasible.
Since the word "noise spam" was uttered by you, I wasn't sure if I should decide that this should not be a serious discussion.
1 -
yup!, they said they were tweaking it based on feed back but it's 100% coming, I'm not sure if you had the chance to play the beta when it was out, but seriously it's a lot of fun, I think you'll really like it
0 -
I was thinking that you may be trolling, I guess there is no question about it now
1 -
tbh i'm on their side, that was such a weird statement
like yeah I agree, you shouldn't just stand there, but yknow, I also can't be everywhere at once, and it's such a short time frame, that you're probably safer just waiting it out anyways
0 -
i played the PTB and absolutely hated it tbh
0 -
the two things kind of work hand in hand, they wanted to make moris activate once only 1 person is standing
but obviously everyone would say this "so they just have to get 4 downs, and they win" and yeah you'd be right to argue that, so that's where basekit unbreakable comes in, they were thinking ahead, imagine if they only released the mori system, there would be a complete outrage
0 -
yeah but both systems suck? why release 1 to cover up another if the first 1 sucked in the first place
0 -
really? so you'd seriously rather the killer slowly pick up every individual survivor, take them to a hook, watch every single person go through both first and second stage, and then die, and then hear the boring entity take them from the hook omlllll, it takes forever to end a game sometimes, you already know you're gonna die, I think it's a major improvement, also if you down the person who was t bagging at the exit, you get to mori them, and that to me is an epic win
0 -
yes, because this gives survivor opportunity to use there perks, unbreakable. And deliverance ect.
its very rare that you would have all 4 survivors on the ground so its really not that big of a hassle
also i didn't get the opportunity to try but does a survivor really get morid if he is the last one left and in exit gate, even if other survivors escaped? that is dumb and what i was worried about. I'm not looking forward to getting hit with a hatched and getting insta mori the second before I was about to leave
0 -
ah but remember, the second main point of basekit unbreakable, is to kill the toxic, leaving everyone on ground, and not doing anything, and letting them bleed out, the WORST form of toxicity, but it happens, I don't like a long game tbh

Imo, the only "fix" eruption needs is that survs can counter it. Forget SoloQ, even on comms it's near impossible to see a second in the future and predict when exactly you gonna go down.
I like how painres works in that regard. Once you know it's in play you pay close attention to the aura and can let go just in time with the information you alone receive. There should be that same half second delay you have to react to eruption to counter the incapacitated. Or make it an overcharge-style skill check; the gen gets erupted, the killer gets notified someone is on the gen, the surv gets the skill check; they pass they continue, they fail they get incapacitated and the gen keeps regressing.
It would still be a perk very well suited to force a three gen --- which I can understand as a strategy but I hate those kinds of drawn out matches --- but it would at least have a viable counter.
0 -
Yeah. That will also rob us of heal tech. Like - if you try to do it, instead of last 2 out (standing survivor making sure the other one gets thru the gate), you get 2 kills (healing survivor gets down for like a 1 second during hit CD).

Basekit Unbreakeble is, in my opinion, actually quite the waste of resources. I do not see how that will help with tunneling or camping, in any significant way. I wish they actually focused on these problems instead of adding basekit Unbreakeable.
The tunneling nerf we did get was definitely good, but it just wasn't enough in my opinion. And it seems like many people think that way, looking at the killer queue times I am currently having.
1 -
wasn't enough???
if you're SERIOUSLY getting tunneled that much, I'm not gonna lie,
- Skill Issue
- Run DS
if you're SERIOUSLY having that issue, run off the record,
the basekit unbreakable is something that's been requested for years now, it's very frustrating being left on the ground for long periods of time
so yes you're right doesn't do much for tunneling, but it helps survivors pressure the killer, overall buff to playing survivor that'll change the scope of all games

I have 2 main problems with Eruption.
1. That there's nothing that tells my teammates I currently can't do anything like heal them. It's obnoxious having a random injured teammate teabagging and clicking their flashlight nonstop for 25 seconds wanting a heal and there's no way to be like "I can't right now." It needs an indicator like when a survivor is broken to let teammates know you currently can't do anything.
2. It's so frustrating being at like 99% done on an event gen you've worked on by yourself, someone gets downed and now you can't work on it thanks to Eruption. Someone else runs over to finish the gen while you can't do anything and you miss out on the event BP. This one is easy fix - give all survivors in the match event BP whenever a gen is finished.
