Congrats, your killer played like a normal person and not a cry baby.

Witnessing the tire-fire that is both if you claiming your anecdotal experience trumps the other with zero self awareness is morbidly entertaining.

    This is peak DBD chicanery.

I'm not playing, sorry. Others already pointed it out I'm not wasting another 4 back and forths on it too.

Exactly. I'm not saying people are not having issues but disabling the penalty system is not the way. Like I said before I only play during the weekends and all the DCs made it impossible for me to even do the event because 2 Survivors can't win and a Killer is too painful to play when 3 survivors DC leaving 1 who find the hatch or just follows suit and DCs too

I have almost giving up on DbD because the time I play has majorly diminished over the past few months. Because if I want toxic behavior and annoying entitled players I have Rainbow Six Siege and then I don't experience as many in that as DbD

I noticed a trend in the DC's as survivor. After the first Nurse screech sound there's about a 70% chance at least one survivor instantly DC's.

If anyone wants an example of an exceptionally laggy game (I'm guessing it lags but the game was also glitched after a survivor DC'd), here's one from earlier today.

I've played for several hundred hours and never lagged before the event, and during the event I've only lagged when playing killer (right before that game I played survivor for 2 hours with no connection issue). I'm on PC with a stable connection thanks to fibreoptic internet.

(Video content : highlights of a DC-induced glitch and then massive lag that I cannot explain)

The DCs aren't just happening on console. They're not just happening on certain regions. They're not just happening to certain specs. Just because it isn't happening to you doesn't mean that it isn't happening or that it's an unimportant issue. It's a legitimate optimization issue with the current DBD patch that is affecting many players.

I hate DC penalty being removed as much as the next person, but I completely understand it being kill-switched given the exceptional circumstances in play. People who just wanted to play the event were experiencing softlocks/freezes/crashes and then being punished due to factors that were completely out of their control. It would be disgustingly unfair to penalize players at random when they aren't doing anything worth punishing.

There is no argument that can possibly justify handing out DC penalties en masse because of an issue on BHVR's end and that is exactly why they took responsibility and kill-switched the DC penalty.

And players that werent having any issues are being punished now because every other game someone dcs. Fair enough.

Salty losers DC'ing from your games is a pretty minimal problem in the face of actual experience-ruining optimization problems, I think.

I refuse to play until it's turned back on. Played one game with lethal pursuer blight, got a hit and insta dc. Me and Zarina mourned her transition into a med-kit and then I let them get all the gens done.

It's actually just as bad, and claiming it isn't experience-ruining is not realistic. Right now I don't think it's that severe, because many players still haven't figured out the DC penalty is off, but give it a few more days. You eventually hit a point where you can only play, like, one in every four matches you load into because either your teammates or your opponents always bail the second something they don't like happens. This even truer if you play things that are historically controversial or unpopular - Nurse, Blight, Legion, Bubba, Hag, Twins, Trickster, map offerings, sabotage, stealth.

Solo queue becomes a nightmare when the DC penalty is off too long. This isn't my first rodeo with it and it always turns out the same way; more games feature your teammates instantly ditching you than not.

This is why DC penalty actually disabled

Saying "It's true because it's backed up by my experience" is anecdotal evidence, even if you're right about it and it's undeniably happening.

The issue is that people are experiencing crashes too, so claiming that they're not a problem because they aren't happening in your experience and surely can't be happening that much is where you've gone wrong. That's hypocritical and @alpha5 was right to point out you're using the exact same type of argument even if the person you're arguing against has a -10 modifier to their common sense skill checks and I believe you way more than I believe them.

I haven't noticed anything too out of the ordinary. I think people are blowing it out of proportion.

People DC just as much against Pinhead and Nurse as they did before. People still DC or suicide against facecamping Bubba. That Nea with a flashlight will DC after she sees you have Lightborn.

My first game of the day..... 5 seconds in, and the nurse blinks, so of course one of my soloQ teammates DC's. I mean, why wouldn't you when there is no DC penalty. Killer chose to farm.... Sure I can do that. (Just not every game. I actually want to play the game, even against a nurse!) But at least killer and the survs left with 50k+ BP each. The DC penalty being off sucks more than an occasional crash. An occasional crash, (I had 2 in 40 games), is a hell of a lot better then 3 out of every 4 soloQ games, trashed by a DC before a single gen is done!

Haven't had this much fun in SoloQ since SBMM was introduced. It's so refreshing that when a game is lost 30 seconds into the game it doesn't get dragged out wasting 15 minutes of your life.

This is beyond funny! I switch to playing killer. Let's go with Pig, maybe ppl won't DC, right? WRONG! 2 people DC. Then, in the end game chat one of the DC's threatens to report me and the Mikaela and wants me banned because AFTER he DC'd, I let her finish a gen out of pity because the second person has also DC'd while she was doing the gen...... Hatch appears and I don't stop her leaving through it. Man, this game is crazy!

I would argue it is heavily region and social media/streamer watcher dependant.

People that aren't on the forum, don't use DBD social Media, watch a streamer that noticed the turnoff and don't regularly DC already won't find out that the penalties are off.

And again, depending on the combination of their media usage and region it might way more or much less, especially after only one or two days. Give it a week and it will spread.

Yesterday I got 3 DCs the instant the game started.

When I've found him, the one remaining survivor was standing still with his head looking all around.

I've tomb-stoned him and the game lasted about a minute after his death, with a "player DCed during loading".

Later, my pumpkins stopped making sounds when crushed. The game behaved increasingly weirdly until I restarted it.

A friend of mine got a crash though.

I'd rather have a DC penalty though, it's not worth starting the game as it is.

DC penalties appear to be back on lol...at least from what I see watching a streamer
