I'm starting to get sick of this game company for real lol.

Survivors are leaving like flies and still they keep pushing the boundaries.

It's like they're doing everything in their power to make survivor boring.

They literally killed flashlight. You can't even do any kind of movement with them, it's like they weight 20 kilos. It's always funny to me to see people say " oh it never worked on me blabalbla", who care ?

Movement are what make survivor fun to play, if they think that holding M1 for 10 minutes and running straight lines is fun, they need to hire new people. They changed the angle for absolutely no reason, it's like they made the intern do it.

What's the next step ? Removing all the indoor maps because of claustrophobic people ?

I know it's a joke but let's be serious. Removing fun aspects a ######### thing

    There's nothing to compensate.

Flashlights still blind the killers doing the same thing as before.

"A suggested middle ground to help people with disabilities and to stop macros was to remove the delay when turning on the flashlight and just put it after 3/4 clicks to activate the delay/cd."

    my opinion.

Why should doing a 360 be part of using a flashlight?

The fact that it still works and the fact that it was nerfed are two opinions that can and should coexist.

Think of it that way : if for accessibility reasons, a killer was locked into using their power rather than being able to charge and cancel it (like Hillbilly for example), wouldn't it be a nerf ? That would be mindgames lost and time lost as well...Even if the power technically works.

Same with flashlights in this instance. You can still blind, but it's harder to time since you can't adjust it as you could before, plus I hear the starting position of the beam has been altered as well. Plus the batteries draining faster if you can't cancel a bad beam or if you're clicking to communicate.

You can disagree, of course, but I think the flashlights deserve some sort of compensation. Also, their addons are not that great and it would be nice if they were reworked.

You can move the beam off the killers face for a moment to readjust if you really need to.

    There's nothing to compensate.

So this is the way you want to do it... fine

If they could code the game... it would be better they wouldn't need to hotfix the game every update (2-3 times)

If they could've made a difference between "strobing" and resetting they would've

Just look at the updates in the past if you want proof

And you are not understanding... nor caring about what I've said... got it

agree with 1), the rest I don't really mind they changed it... they can keep that if they want but the aim is terrible, using other items rather than flashlight just because of that (which sucks for killers because everyone is using medkits or strong toolboxes xD)

If this mechanic was so bad, then I don't see why it matters that it is gone.

The changes to flashlight addresses bm and photosensitivity issues, so saying your fun is being removed says alot about you.

For sure, Killer can be toxic as well. I think both sides have the opportunity to be toxic to each other. Decisive strike at exit gate, flashlight clicking and tea bagging are common associated toxic behaviours. the dev are trying to remove these behaviour's in the game for survivor by brute force. generally I just tend to ignore these behaviours from survivor side because I generally have thick skin to not let these gameplay behaviours affect my gameplay. The only aspect that irritates me is flashlight noise as it hurts your ears. I would not mind if there was an option to mute it or something. I do not think flashlight need to be killed from gameplay standpoint.

I am not entirely sure what could be done on killer-side to reduce toxicity. Survivors have often requested the ability to kill themselves on the floor similar to kobing a hook. The request is to avoid toxicity for when the killer mindlessly slug in the end game on purpose to annoy the survivor. Holding the survivor hostage by bodyblocking, nodding+hitting the survivor on hook when facecamping are difficult problems to solve. its because they are organic gameplay elements that create sense of hostility between survivor and killer.

if the killer wants me out of the game the game has mechanics built for them to do that like bloodlust which essentially punishes survivors for doing well in chase.

Bloodlust, not very well thought out mechanic. in 2016 and 2017 dbd, looping was considered a toxic because of no entity blocking windows with infinities everywhere that could make games last forever. The survivor could keep the killer in the game for like 1 hour+ due to their terrible gameplay balance. it was put as bandaid fix to the maps. really fixing the maps would be better. the mechanic has not aged too well.

You are complaining that something that didn't do anything got removed as a side effect towards making flashlights be better for those with photosensitivity. What's the actual problem then? All you are showing that you don't care if people had legit health issues when dealing with flashlights since all you care is about your personal ability to bm killers regardless if it physical hurts other people.

As for killer bm, it's not a "you can't touch flashlights unless you touch things killer can do" situation and one of your examples being "slugging survivors to death" was being addressed on the ptb by giving survivors the ability to pick themselves off the ground. Sure it didn't go live this midchapter, but to say that killer bm isn't being addressed at all is completely ignoring the mori and last man standing mechanics being tested.

I agree with the first point and I hope they will fix this. It doesn't really make sense to me why they would change that part. At least I don't see it.

The second is a bit different. It might be good that this is gone now. How often did it really work? How often do 360s in general work? It fails against any experienced killer and actually messes the survivor's movement up because they make even less distance. This is not even taking into regard that it was technically an exploit. It was not a big deal but since BHVR decided to do something about these things, that were even supported before, it should be removed. Otherwise what would be the point in removing some fun and equally strong killer exploits earlier this year?

The third point should be manageable, I believe. You can still blind the killer even after letting go of M2. But I would be indifferent about maybe adding an extra 2s to every flashlight. Much more than that and we're all gonna need lightborn and sacrificial wards every match just so we can deal with bully squads profitting of it. Believe me, I know exactly what this could be used for and it's a nightmare for every killer (especially those that don't play Nurse, Blight and Spirit with their best addons).

You are continuing to show you don't want to have any sort of discussion as you immediately dismiss anything you don't agree with.

I'm sorry you felt a huge need to bm killers with flashlights and I'm sorry you don't care about the photosensitive community dbd has. But that's too bad and I'm glad the devs aren't prioritizing people like you with their changes.

I know this user is banned, but I want to respond anyway:

Just because something has "always been in the game" is not a valid argument to keep something in the game. The point of a flashlight from a design standpoint has NEVER been to aid in player movement.

Counterpoint : looking at the developer live streams of when they play this game tells me they are bad at the game relative to my skill level and that things like frame skipping were too effective against them. They didn't want you to bully killers so it's gone. Macro clicking is gone too and that's a lovely change to remove BM.

You're welcome to go play killer in VHS.

Yeah it's mainly the angle that ruins it.

I think an easy change is to revert flashlights and add an accessibility option to turn off the flashlight beam
