Why are DC bans still a thing?

We're in a CHEATING EPIDEMIC, turn it off ffs. I can't play killer without getting people speed hacking every other match.

That will never happen because the said DCers are entitled babies who think everything should be given to them on a Silver Platter and be hand held. This goes for Killers and Survivors because both sides have entitled babies.

DCing because of Hackers or network issues are removed from my hate because it's no fault of their own.

Time and time again when BHVR removes the penalties DCs skyrocket..."SoloQ is miserable" or "It's not Fun" are most of the arguments I see to defend removing it.

Cheating is only hard to identify if you don't play games frequently. Cheating is very easy to identify, the hard part is to know exactly WHO and How they are doing it.

There's very clear indication of cheating and it is running rampant.

Take Warzone as an example. I can guarantee you that more than 50% of the so called good Warzone players are all cheating in some form way or shape.

They go into Bot lobbies, they using Cronus, Wallhacks, No recoil, extra speed, extra HP, etc, etc, etc. It's really goddamn obvious who cheats and doesnt cheat in Warzone as it is obvious that there's a huge cheating "community" in DbD. In Warzone it's easy because it's only you that matters, it's only your input that benefits you while in DbD you can hide and do 0 for the whole match and escape because the other 3 did everything for you...How will a killer play against this!? There's somebody he can't find and then 3 guys are doing everything. All this to say that anyone can be cheating and nobody will know who it is unless it's something super obvious that everyone can see.

I have plenty of examples of survivors backing me up when i call someone a cheater because they've seen things happen that should not happen. My last match had a guy knowing where i was ll the time and i was playing a stealth killer, how would someone always know where i was and point at my direction for other survivors to know unless that guy was cheating? And the rest of survivors backed me up on it, the guy always knew where i was cause they'd see him point at my direction and run away before anyone else, everytime i tried chasing him he'd always move faster than he should.

Think about it. What matters in DbD? Kills and Escapes. Nothing you do matters unless you get a kill or escape. Got 8 hooks but 0 kills? Doesn't matter you suck. Did 5 gens looped for 10 hours and got 120 rescues but did not escape? You suck!

When the only metric that matters is wether you survive or die then people will do whatever to get their results. When the "Top MMR" means you're simply above 1600 MMR, which 90% of the players will be because it's easy AF + Cheaters, then you're putting everyone, cheaters and non cheaters in the same category because getting 1600 MMR is easy AF and past 1600 everyone is sweating because only way to imrpove is to just get kills or escape so people will cheat.

Imagine the Sentence for stealing food and sex crimes is the same and it is a low sentence. Wouldn't sex crime rates sky rocket? Yes they would, if the penalty is that low yes it would.

Imagine that stealing was punished with death penalty, would the steal rate drop? Yes it would because the sentence got upgraded to losing your life so people will be more hesitant to steal cause if they're caught they ain't getting out of it.

How easily or harshly you get punished for something has a big part in playing on wether or not you'll do it. DbD has a very big security fail so not only is it easy to cheat there's also very little penalty for it.

IF cheaters weren't so common then why would BHVR announce they've banned 200.000 cheaters already? That's more cheaters than full player community on STEAM has ever been. And they've announced they've banned 2.000 players in 7 days back in September so clearly cheaters are running rampant.

DbD's population is really low, yes it has increased because of the Event but that's just a spike, most of those players won't stay here. We just had the Annyversary event not long ago and then the numbers went down to between 30k to 40k players on STEAM so you can imagine the same happens on other platforms. So even if Xbox and PS had the same numbers as STEAM, which i don't think they will, you're looking at max 120k players on average on these 3 platforms and that's on peak hours. The reason i say this because DbD is obviously a much more playable game on PC, so STEAM or WINDOWS OR EPIC will be prefered. Which naturally just boosts the chances of there being cheaters because it will be easier to cheat on PC.

I haven't seen a cheater in a long time (not saying they aren't a big problem though) but during the DC penalty being off there was a DC almost every match and the game was becoming unplayable. I was watching different streamers and the same thing was happening in their games... So clearly the penalty being off was being abused

Because the entire forum throws a baby tantrum with the big common enemy, that people DCing are ruining the game. Not the cheaters, not the godawful MMR system that is utterly incapable of putting good killers against good survivors and vice versa, not the horrificly unbalanced killers, addons, maps, items, SWF, no it's the already completely ######### in the ass SoloQ players that don't want to waste 15 minutes of their lives playing a match that was lost because a player DC-ed thirty seconds into the game that's "ruining the game". But don't worry, BHVR is hard on the case and I'm sure cheaters won't just be back in full force 6 hours after they patch their vulnerabilities. Like the last ######### time.

Because no network in the world can differentiate between a connection loss on their end, your end or in between.

The only thing that would differentiable would be a server crash aka the whole server rack going down due to a hard- or software error.

Anything else looks the same no matter if the server lost connection to the internet, the provider had a hickup or you at hole unplug your router/turn of you net card/shut off wifi or whatever.

Therefore everything gets treated the same to not leave a loophole for the spineless people that bail at any SUBJECTIVE inconvenience.

All of those things can be ruining the game alongside ragequitters.

There was just a lot of frustration build up in the (solo Q) community. They finally can DC without consequence, That's why some people saw a lot of DCs. Give it 1 week and it would normalise

It would normalise. Exactly like 2016-2018 when it didn't exist

Where neither side new how to play efficiently like today, survivor still were heavily op and favored by maps and didn't have a reason to DC outside a pink Mori and nurse, sure.

Stop looking for excuses. Neither survivors nor killers mass DCed back then.

    CoDismylife Member Posts: 327

I played back then. A lot. My games were fine. The streamers I watched were fine. The friends in my list said its fine.

There was no mass DC'ing problem back then.

Some players were just very very pissed about just 1 DC which happened once a day and came to the forums complaining and complaining all day long about that. Then bhvr gave in and introduced the penalty.

WHICH BTW didn't fix the problem but just shifted it to suiciding on hook, going afk or manipulate the match.

I have my own personal experience aswell, been playing since Beta. There was no mass DC'ing problem

The numbers you guys collected were not accurate then, because the reality in my games and everyone know was different.

Also dbd was very buggy and random crashes happened much more often which also counts as DC.

Just now (like literally, I am still afk in the match) I got a match as best boi Pyramid Head on Ormond. Lethal Pursuer showed me two dudes in the shack, so I hauled my shapely ass over there and gave it a shot with a blind POTD. Got two hits. Waited outside, a David and a Felix ran past me, one went down, then the other shortly after. Both went on the basement hook. While hooking I saw a Mikaela hiding behind the entrance via Awakened Awareness and on the way out gave her a lovely wack. I actually wanted to leave the shack, because that was a hell of a bad start for the survivors, but the moment that Mikaela got wacked the two sods in the basement DCed simultaneously. I can't really blame them, as I get the frustration, but why DC? Just ######### on hook and be up and ready to the next game within 20s. So this game got ruined within about 1:30min. Let the two others finish the 4 gens while I wrote this piece here.

The only sad part is that the two survivors who stayed got 45k BP and I got 12k ... well, thats the true price of altruism ;D

Why not, everyone can mistakes. Especially when they say we had a mess DC'ing epidemic which I personally haven't seen, not did streamers not did my friends.

Challenge me in a match. I made a new post about my 99% win rate. Nothing easier than destroying some forum memember in a custom match. You can bring the strongest builds idc

I leave games when killers play dirty or hold us hostage. the problem is that survivors in solo queue can lose the entire game within the first minute due to bad luck spawns and/or lethal pursuer, and that can result in a drawn-out game where you get farmed and have no chance to turn the game around. the same can happen the other way, but only with a squad of gen-rush perks, which in solo queue, is much less likely than a killer stacking meta perks on top of bad luck starts affecting survivors more heavily than killers, AND, this results in shorter games rather than longer hostage games.

MMR is still a complete trainwreck. matches frequently put players with 100 hours in together with people with 5,000 hours and it's ridiculous.

if BHVR is so incompetent that they can't pit people of similar experience against each other, then you really have no right to double-punish people for leaving a game that is negative fun to play. DOUBLE-PUNISH, because you lose your items, addons, offerings, blood points, grade pips and the time you spent queueing and loading into the unbalanced game, only to then be banned for 5 minutes on top of the previously mentioned punishments.

maybe i'm just done with this game, because most of the time it's just not very fun, balance rests on a needle-point and the randomness of solo queue is easily enough to tip it toward the killer 80% of the time.

this comes after doing solo queue to Iri 1 a few weeks ago, and yea, not a fun experience. while higher MMR makes solo queue more bearable, it just approaches a point of balance and never quite gets there, because even if you get a decent solo queue team, other factors can make the game near impossible to escape, like luck-based spawn locations as well as certain maps favouring certain killers (which can also go the other way).

A game with no reconnect feature should not have a leaver penalty. In what world is being blocked from requeuing for 5+ minutes preferable to just losing a match?

Well if its that unbelievable you better tune in when I get some teams with enough balls to challenge me and live stream it. Watch the stream and get you reality flipped over.

Yeah had so many killers dc but it's ok if no cakes in game as I still I get 7K bp. Still had one just today but that might been crash because the killer was doing well.

Mfs were DCing against my onryo. I wasn't even using her green and iri addon for the slug build, i was running a yellow and brown addon. I was using spirit fury, enduring, pain res (I didn't even get to use it because they were at horrible locations, 2 or 1 was upstairs and the 3 were on one side of the map in corners), and discordance. And for reference, I was on eerie of crows. So they have the advantage of a huge, bright map, which is horrible for a stealth killer like me, as well as onryo being not a very good killer, as well as my pain res spawns being so bad I didn't even get a use out of it.

People will dc against anything, it doesn't matter what you run, how fair you play, as long as they lose they will DC.

in the first few days of halloween update i didn't actually realise there was no DC penalty, because it seemed pretty normal and still a lot of suicide on hook
