Why do 90% of my random solo team mates insist....
...on healing under the hook?
I had this even against bird lady with team mate clicking at me to heal them.
I mean, where do they think bird lady is going to fire her next lot of crows?!
While I refuse to tunnel off hook as killer, if things are not going my way and I need pressure I will return to hook as I know I am going to get two for the price of one most of the time and even if I wont hook the person off the hook, I will slug them and chase the un-hooker so someone else has to come and pick them up and that leaves only one survivor pressuring gens.
Why do so many survivors insist on under hook heals?!

I generally heal under hook or not far from it, because I have We'll Make It and often Guardian, so I know the killer is far enough to pull off a quick heal. In some cases it's better, because otherwise running off will leave tracks (mine, not the unhooked) and if the killer comes back, they will most likely follow those tracks, interrupt the heal and get a down.
That being said, I don't do it when in front of a ranged killer. That's just silly.

Of course there are scenarios where it makes sense, such as the killer is clearly distracted and un-hooker has We'll Make It. But very few people run We'll Make it and team mates seem to just want to go right back on that hook lol

Oh trust me I know those teammates haha. They're the same that want immediate heals when it's their turns on hook. I had one spam crouching after I unhooked them wanting a heal, with a Huntress visibly pulling up her hatchet in the distance, haha ! They didn't last very long, to say the least. x)

Lol yep, they actually throw the match for everyone over something so simple to avoid...

Why do 90% of my solo teammates insist on running to the furthest reaches of the map to heal after getting unhooked?
11 -
There is a balance but I rarely find that is the case
1 -
Yeah this is the problem, there isn't much common sense and judging the situation. I can't blame killers that take full advantage of it either

I started running Reactive Healing and a medkit because here lately the killer comes right back, the person who unhooked me will take a hit and then I can heal in about 5 secs myself either in a safe zone or mid chase if I heal after pallet drops or vaults

I might try that perk too, I have been using Resurgence a bit lately and I really like it. The only bummer is Sloppy Butcher counters it hard and that perk is fairly common. But being already 50% healed coming off hook is pretty decent if you have a medkit too

If two survivors take a hit it's literally a tap heal, I'm really surprised we haven't seen more troll builds with reactive healing and mettle of man

Why do people use CoH then wait for 10 minutes to use it?
1 -
One thing I cant understand... why do people boon a COH when the killer is Plague?
2 -
It's 1500 points. And another 1500 every time you reboon it in another place.
0 -
Not that it's not dumb but to partially explain it at least, I've found as a solo survivor that many teammates won't follow you.
So I either risk letting them heal me under the hook and hope the killer doesn't come back or I don't get healed and hope that doesn't bite me later.
3 -
And this is why I hate boons, team mates will have a 'screw everyone else on the team' attitude and will waste so much time doing these things over and over to the point they become a 5th killer perk.
1 -
What a cool mood to play the game. Then you should hate 70% of survivors' perks (and 90% of archives) and assume that every teammate is trying to kill you just by being in the same lobbie.
Bad and non-invested survivor will throw the game without any perk. And good survivor pretty can afford to farm some points while there's room for that in the trial.
TL;DR not a boon problem

I feel like solo q players will do that because otherwise they struggle to get healed. No communication so if they lose sight of you and aren't running bond then they lose you, and can't easily communicate where to do the heal as usually people clear out from hook too fast to benefit from a point emote.
2 -
Also time efficiency. If you think the killer is busy in another chase then healing right away under hook saves a bit of time compared to running somewhere first.
1 -
True. I'll do that with my swf mates. But in solo q unless you see the obession's spider legs twitching it's almost impossible to tell.
1 -
For sure, it’s a risk if you don’t know where the killer is when you do it.
0 -
And that's always the issue in solo q. No way to communicate so solo q players usually get shredded.
0 -
It's conditional. Is the Killer occupied or otherwise showing they don't return to the hook? If so, it saves a few seconds you can put on gens.
If the unhooker has We'll Make It and you're not in the TR of a normal TR Killer the heal should be done before the Killer makes it back. If you're running anti-tunneling perks, it was your first hook, and you can run the Killer longer than your teammates you might want the Killer to target you if you can get a heal before the Killer comes back.
If the Killer is returning to the hook generally go somewhere else but if the Killer has just injured someone else who's not in sight you know the Killer is in a chase and would have to abandon that chase to go for you.
In short, it depends on the circumstances. If you go too far from the hook though you're just wasting time.
1 -
If I know someone is being chased, maybe the obsession or someone has just been hit, I will heal or be healed under the hook.
If I am unsure, I will more likely move to a safer spot unless they have a fast heal perk.

>Of course there are scenarios where it makes sense, such as the killer is clearly distracted and un-hooker has We'll Make It.
You're complaining that solo q players don't know when the killer is distracted or what perks his teammates have?
Because you know that lack of info isn't their fault, right?
You remember that, right?
1 -
I mean seriously... use your brain or your eyes perhaps? Obsession tentacles moving for example? Clearly team mate is being chased... if team mate has We'll Make It you will get the icon notification. I mean, this isn't difficult but in solo queue these things seem to be
0 -
Yeah, you are right, happens to me too, and the worst is to heal under hook against killers like nurse, blight, they can be back quickly and happens often. Often also teamate after unhooking me want to heal me under hook even killer is coming back. Its ok to heal quickly under hook if you are sure killer is busy and not close.
So yeah, you are right, and some survivors not being healed under hook are sometimes angry tho, what u can do is unhook survivor show him to follow you and give him heal somewhere more safe place for both.
1 -
Yeah I don't get it and they clearly get angry at me because I nope out of there. But sure enough within 5 seconds they are down again...
Of course there are exceptions but some survivors are just suicidal for a hook heal at any cost
0 -
There's literally an icon on your screen if the unhooker has We'll Make It. As well, if a survivor who is not in sight gets injured or goes to the dying state you're pretty safe in assuming the Killer is chasing the other survivor
0 -
I see it a lot and it makes some sense as much as it is risky. Getting healed quicky and getting it over with trumps leaving them to wander around injured. It is better for the team that said player has there full health state. If solo, you might not bump into another player again for a while so again, make sense.
Think its a good strategy when you know the killer is not nearby or is not a mobility killer. Its a dream scenario when playing as Oni 👹

I run Botany or We'll Make It, so I'm usually down to heal people under the hook if I'm outside the Terror Radius.

Tip: If the killer has Make Your Choice and you have For The People, just use it
