Midwich basement
So one time while playing survivor in Midwich, we were doing pretty well against an artist until she started to facecamp one random and me and my friend saved him. She then came after me i got down and she put me in the basement, first hook for me 1 gen missing.
Well, she just bodyblocked the entrance to the basement, that tight choke. My friend said that she couldn't come save me, because she wasn't moving and there was no other entrance.
I said them to leave, and i was the only one to die. The artist later asked sorry but that the map is horrible for artist (k sure).
What i want to know, is it really possible for a killer to guarantee that kill by bodyblocking the basement? Was there anything my friend could have done? Or was i just dead?

It's really easy for killer to body block the basement. The only way past If they want to do it is allow them to hit you so they lose collision and you can get past. Useless when going in for a save though as you're guaranteed to be downed. Fortunately, it doesn't happen very often.
Tbh I think the basement is a bit of a relic that could probably go now. It used to be the hooks there were the only hooks that weren't able yo be permanently destroy able with a tool kit. Now all hooks respawn, unless sacrificed upon, and there tends to be one, sometimes two, hook(s) outside the shack if that's where the basement is I think it's just a waste of everyone's time.

Unfortunately, she knew to not hit anyone to guarantee that kill.
Never had that happen in other map. Couldn' t they had another opening to basement?

I remember this discussion on here a while back, but killers thought it would be too unfair for them to patrol two entrances.

And how is what happened fair? Its bad design for the map. Like open the wall, so now you can go around the choke. Or move the basement to other place. So you cant bodyblock the entrance

Tbh basement or no, killers will often do this or something similar when they have had a bad game and it's down to 1 or two gens.
Face/proxycamping for a free kill at the end. And it's very hard to save the camped survivor without simply trading who's on hook. In all honesty I do too if the game has been rough and I'm looking at a no kill game. 4 man escapes always suck for killer, especially if you only managed a hook or two. Sometimes you just have to leave someone behind or trade yourself for them.

I am not complaining about the camp, i am complaining about a map that lets killers bodyblock the entrance and making unhooks impossible. Because i am sure thats not intended gameplay.

I don't think the Midwich basement entrance is any smaller than the usual ones. Your friend should have been able to slip through with persistence, though it'd require the killer messing up a bodyblock as they'd have to predict your movements. It still requires a ridiculous amount of effort and time to squeeze through a killer blocking basement though, so I wouldn't be opposed to widening basement entrances.

Its not the stairs entrance to the basement, its the choke with the god pallet. My friend would have go around the entire map to go down the stairs. Dont know if i explained it better.
Edited later, here is a picture of what i am talking
The killer just bodyblocked that choke. And the other only way around basically forces you to run the entire map so you to stairs behind

Yeah, I read that as empowering camping. Which is ironic being that is a pretty unfair tactic.

Survivors can bodyblock the killer to prevent him from getting hooks, it is fair for the killer to be able to bodyblock survivors to prevent unhooks. Both sides can play this game, so this is fine.

Oh, I misunderstood what you meant. I see. Yeah, if the killer blocks that spot, there's really not a whole lot you can do on your own. Perhaps they could dig out the wall to the side, then it's possible to get through, at the expense of making that pallet not a god pallet anymore?
forgive the crude paint drawing lol. Ideally the opening in the wall would be large enough for the survivor to pass by.

I disagree. As the killer, you can hit the survivor, then they lose collision, and you can go through them. Survivors have no way of doing this to a killer. And BHVR seems to agree, as bodyblocking a survivor in a corner is bannable and bodyblocking a hooked survivor isn't bannable, but has been patched out via map redesign every time it's been possible (widening basement stairs, removing hook from top of old RPD library).

They lose collision and then what? You don't get anything.
And no, as a killer you can bodyblock survivor going for the unhook, this is absolutely doable. You can bodyblock windows as well. As long as you don't block someone in the corner this is fine, and, as you are saying, you had a way to get around the killer, you just decided to go wrong way where killer outplayed you.

Yep, thats really it. Thanks
