Why doesn't repairing generators have tasks like Among Us?

Feels more interesting than pressing L1 for skill checks all day.

The gens are balanced around the fact you need 90sec to finish them, most among us tasks can be solved in 10 seconds.

They would need to rebalance the whole game to replace these tasks with the current repairs

This would need to be tied to a specific Killer, as it is a systemwide change that would either need to circumvent and replace the core mechanic (a programming nightmare) or override the system design (like stacking something on top). An override would be easier, so it would need to be tied to a new Killer or Killers to not break the game.

I love the idea, though, and I hope that in the same manner that the new Killer brings in a new game design (bots), we may one day see some kind of change that implements a bunch of smaller tasks to achieve the same goal (powering exit gates). Some combination of Pig/Freddy/Plague as multiple goals, rather than gens, would be something I could see occurring.

Doing this for all generators would be pretty tedious, along with having to keep an eye out for the killer at the same time. For 5 generators no doubt. This would require a change to the number of gens to complete, where these new objectives like fuel collecting would spawn, and many more.

You're supposed to be watching for the killer as you do gens, so I'm not sure the Among Us model fits here.

It's not that it wouldn't be more enjoyable, it's that it would take a huge amount of resources to do that to the point you'd have to question is it worth it or are their better alternatives.
