I feel lost as a killer against good survivors.

Whenever i get a hook, i don't know what to do.

  • Playing "fair" is simply inefficient unless you play hardcore builds.
  • Camping is a waste of time as well.
  • Proxy is only viable if you entercept a person.
  • People usually aware of tiles and loops, so you will have a bad time if RNG screws you.

There is so many options, but at the end you are on mercy of RNG and if survivors go mokey brain.

I aim at chases so I bring enduring, brutal, fire up and save the best for last. Gens of course fly in 5/7 mins but I just refuse to bring 4 slowdown perks.

With these perks I never respect pallets and I'm very efficient in chases by literally holding W until I catch a survivor while destroying every pallet instead of wasting time mindgaming.

Those are all fairly broad concepts and the reasons they're failing usually come down to decision-making or mechanics. Tough to give pointed advice without seeing gameplay.

Well, yes. Survivors are disadvantaged in every way against killers, so if they make it to higher MMR, you should have a much tougher time facing them. Because while killers can breeze through MMR (low to mid especially), survivors generally have to earn that. But camping still works against higher MMR survivors. You just might need a build for it. Stacking slowdown perks works as well. Don’t allow chases to last more than 30 seconds; if you see them taking longer, break chase and fine another survivor. Police gens if they’re too strong in chase. They can’t really escape without doing them and it’s a good way to catch them slipping up.

Well, you need to do a bit of everything.

If the hook is in an area with strong tiles or if there's no gens around just leave it.

Otherwise check on gens around but don't forget about the hook.

If you know where to find a vulnerable survivor it is a good idea to go after him.

Also you should be focused on hooking two survivors and others are just an obstacle, keep that in mind.

Against good survivors or any survivors, I focus on actions that produce blood points and am less concerned about winning. I run on pure instinct and reset by patrolling gens. It is how I find peace in the role. Sometimes they get away and that is OK.

Playing nice gives survivors a chance, if every killer were to play as mean as possible the kill rates would be close to 80-90%. So what does it mean to play mean? What does it mean to play nice?

Some examples of playing "nice" are:

    1. Letting people safely unhook and heal under hook.
    2. Hooking instead of pressuring multiple slugged survivors.
    3. Hooking the 3rd survivor in a 2v1 situation.
    4. Chasing the unhooker rather than the hooked person.
    5. Noticing someone is on death hook and choosing not to tunnel them.
    6. Choosing to use mostly aura perks versus regression perks.

On the flip side some "mean" examples are:

    1. Punish unhooks, getting as many free hits as possible.
    2. Chasing the person who just got unhooked if you didn't immediately down the unhooker.
    3. Hooking 1 of 2 downed survivors near the downed survivor, protecting both so neither can safely be saved.
    4. Slugging in a 2v1 situation.
    5. Choosing to go after the same survivor until they are quickly removed from the game.
    6. Stacking multiple regression perks giving you a large amount of extra time each game.

Basically if you want to win more easily do more of a "mean" play style. Even 4 man squads struggle to get escapes against killers who play as mean as possible. If you want more of a challenge or just want to have fun play more nice. People will respect you more for trying to play more fairly, but will understand when you play mean. At the end of the day it is a game, and you should be able to play however you want. I actually have a google sheets where I collect data from each game I play. So far if a killer chooses to play mean their kill rate goes from about a 60% to 80%.

    Wanna trade MMR?

I'm on the spectrum of soloq where my teammates are so bad the killer doesn't even need to try to win. Teammates with more hours than me, might I add. Half my teammates are trolls that refuse to play normally and end up dying and taking everyone else along with em

I'd be happy to give my low MMR to you. I'm sure these survivors are a true pleasure as a killer 😊

As for the killer side, I am on higher MMR there and the survivors are vastly different. I don't mind much since I don't play killer often unless I'm doing quests.

I see how it can be frustrating, but the above is also frustrating )
