2D audio
Is there any particular reason that the game's audio is two-dimensional when the game... isn't? It's more confusing than essentially anything else about the basic mechanics.

It just started doing that for me this past patch for global audio such as music or menu sound effects. Really throws me off. Usually it feels "fuller" through all my 3d drivers, but for whatever reason now they are only playing from the stereo drivers.

I play with headphones, and I'm referring to the fact that people who are literally right above you give audio cues as if adjacent.
I really don't get why this is a thing when there are entire multi-layered maps.

I also play on headphones, but the 3d positional works just fine for me. For what it's worth, they are 7.1 surround sound headphones. Up and down doesn't work obviously...surround sound setups don't really do vertical.

Uh... not doing up and down immediately disqualifies you from 3d positioning. Headphone stereo can tell you exactly what direction a sound is coming from.
