Why did the forums turn so bland?
How come they look so weird and blank now? Everything's so condensed and looks strange. It feels like I'm in reader mode everytime I enter the forums and stuff just feels blank. What happened to the old forums?

I have no idea but if it means I get my Dredge avatar I'll take the trade off.
Actually that's not true I do know why, basically with meet your maker it's obvious that BHVR is trying to branch out and have multiple properties which means more forums and instead of having different forums with different websites they're condensing it all in one place.

When something gets stripped down, simplified, and turns super generic, the odds are that the redesign was made for mobile users.
People on their phones want things to look bigger and easier to read for the much smaller screen. Which renders the site extremely bleak and empty for people on their computers.

A new game BHVR is developing. Now its called the 'BHVR forums' not the DBD forums which is fine but seriously I don't understand why they had to rip away all the identity and charm of the old forums.

This isn't a fun forums :( its hard to read, looks too barren, and looks like I opened up inspect element

The new forum feels like a default Geocities template

They didn't have to change anything about the structure or look. They took time and effort out to make it look worse.

Yeah new forums are kind of ugly not gonna lie.
It's not even more mobile friendly as now the notifications are hidden in the profile section.
Also the polls are unreadable, being written white on white.

Don't really care. But the notifications (the bell) doesn't seem to work for me. :(

You don't have to click twice to get to general discussion anymore, so I'm happy.

I'm sure it's a work in progress I've noticed them tweaking small things about the layout here and there since the move.
