RIP Sweet Prince
It's been more than 2 years since we bid farewell to old Hillbilly (god bless him, he was too beautiful for this world). Lots of feedback regarding was given on how the 4.1.0 changes made the killer became too much punishing, driving new and old players away.
After enduring all stages of grief, it's time to admit that the overheat mechanic is here to stay and we should try and make something off the current Billy Boy Bob to make it more enjoyable to all players. So why not make a few changes so the killer is more enjoyable to learn and master?
- When overheated, Billy can still use their chainsaw but it will only deal 1 health stage instead of insta down.
- While overheated, using your chainsaw will add overheat charges, up to the maximum capacity.
- Only after reaching 0 charges, the heat dissipates and the chainsaw can insta down again.

Man, 2 years already. Old Billy was one of my absolute favs to face. Always a fun match, no matter the outcome :(

ngl, i started playing hillbilly recently and i don't really see how the overheat mechanic is that bad. Like it was an unnecessary change sure, but i think people are overly dramatic about it.

You're underestimating the psychological effect that Billy's rework had community. He is in a state where it takes unreasonable effort to learn AND master while being extremely punishing to play as. Why learn Billy when you can play Bubba and get better results with a fraction of the mechanical effort? Otz did a nice comparison a year ago:

It's not so much the overheat anymore as the collision on every map and particularly new maps (Eyrie, RPD, etc.)
RIP Billy

Why learn Billy? Because he's fun. I've been playing with dad's boots and spike boots with aura reading perks. It's been the most fun I've had on killer in a long time.

I know I sure did, it was a good vid that was right on point (vid below for anyone interested in learning what they did to Billy).
I never really played Billy in the old days and I wish I had now as I am getting around to Steam achievements and 100 chainsaw downs on Billy is one. But for a non-Billy player learning current Billy is a miserably painful and frustrating experience.
I wish they changed him back to the base killer he once was as nobody wanted these changes and now he is just not fun for new players to ever bother picking up

Overheat isn't even the main issue at all.

i don't really play killer outside of trapper but in my opinion Billy terrible. his chainsaw can be stop by just a few trees in a deadzone. He need a better way to mind game his chainsaw at lopps at the very least
