Proximity Chat for DBD

I know alot of people may not agree to this because of harrasement/bullying ect. I feel like in some ways it could be beneficial for teamates, I play on pc and i have a console friend and if i didnt have a console for ps there is no way we can communicate with our teamate, luckily we still can chat through ps messages but if a teamate is around your area i wish we could actually speak with them ect, I mean it is team-based and i feel like we never work as a team esp when your doing Solo Q , teamates are hiding behind rocks, hiding in lockers, crouching around the map and doing all kinds of stupid stuff just some form of communication would be helpful or either more hand gestures in the game we literally only have two.

Another thing this game is getting so boring and stale, nothing new is coming to the game or changing or improving. When we have updates i wish we actually had REAL updates that changed how the game works instead of oh here is a new killer and a survivor and some perks. Like can we get new objectives, new modes, better ways to enchance and change the games features a bit. 5-10 years down the road what will change for the future of DBD? is the point im trying to make, I wonder if they have goals for this games future, 5-10 years down the line what will really change besides new killers and new suvivors? and i know this post will get alot of hate because thats just what people on the forums do but im just speaking my opinion and what i feel needs to be changed to make this game worth while.

I'd like status icons and baseline Kindred. Proximity chat isn't necessarily going to make players better or change their playstyles. If they added a ranked mode, then yeah, I'd like chat. But it wouldn't be overly helpful otherwise.

Rest assured that the day this is even considered by BHVR is the day I will remove this game from my steam library, no questions asked.

Proximity chat would be great for the memes, I can already imagine a Bubba singing Amazing Grace while facecamping a Meg...

Jokes aside, wouldnt do all too much, we just need straight up VC for the Survivor side. As long as these things would happen:

-Queues prioritize players that have the same language set as you

-Give an option to mute other players

-Give an option to outright disable VC

If all these were a thing, I dont see how it could be an issue. It isnt for literally every single other game out there with VC and I dont see any of those games have people complaining of it being a feature.

so you want a baseline perk that not only tells you if killer is near the hook(valid tactic) but what direction the killer leaves the hook from 10 times a game. yea that totally doesnt sound ridiculous and op.

Not OP at all. Why do you think camping works at the competitive level when every team has comms? If the killer camps intelligently, it still puts the team in a bad spot. If you camp in a place you shouldn't camp, the team should be able to make an informed decision and punish the killer

I tried to determine why I gravitate towards survivor in this game versus what something like Evil Dead did and I think I figured it out...

It's BECAUSE there is no voice chat in the game.

I just...don't like to talk to people when I'm playing games. Part of it is because I find it distracting, part of it is because strangers are morons, and some of it is because I find it distracting with how many of the strangers are being morons.

I have no desire to have any kind of a voice chat in the game and if it's ever added, I doubt I'd ever actually use it.

and it punishes those who dont camp(camping shouldnt be punished just not the only viable way to win, and to just rephrase what you said, camping punishes communication survivors, camping is also countered by doing gens) by showing the whole team where the non camping killer went off to in search of new survivors.

I understand survivors want a game that holds your hand and continually ask for things to make it easier and easier for you but survivor shouldnt be easy. you are supposed to die more than you escape.

A chat wheel with simple requests would be SO MUCH BETTER.

If base Kindred did not show the killer's aura just the survs I'd be ok with that. Then the perk itself could show the killer out to whatever range.

I can't see them ever adding VC though. Besides the language issues and abuse concerns, both valid, I bet they want no part of policing & moderating that as well.

The counter to camping is not just simply doing gens. That's how 3 gens happen depending on where the camp is happening. Which is why hook selection matters. Sometimes you need to make an immediate double save when a survivor is being camped. Other times the play is to let them hang and do gens. Other situations call for other things. Point being, trying to distill it down to "do gens" only works against low level killers who don't know how and when to camp.

Showing the possible patrol direction isn't OP. There are only so many places a killer is going to patrol after a hook, and even fewer places that even make sense to patrol to if the killer is good. It doesn't really make a difference a good survivor. They shouldn't be greeding a gen anyway. Again, I feel like we're talking about low level play here.

Proximity chat wouldn’t be a thing until the game is dying and decaying.
