Windows Meta - WARNING OTZ VIDEO - WARNING - REEEEEEEEEE
What do you think of the Windows Meta?

It’s not new meta… Windows has always been strong.

Can't deny that - I've been saying it's crazy good for a long time.

Great perk and perfectly balanced.

It's definitely good for identifying Dead Zones/Busted Set-Ups/etc - It's about as balanced as the RNG spawns are on a map in any particular instance...
If you get a good map/set-up you can win the game in the first chase if the killer even contemplates committing.
Of course, the opposite can be true...
You'll always get value from the perk, though, 100% of the time - It's always 'on' for 'free.'

Windows has never really screamed "Meta" to me, but i won't deny that being able to know where pallets and windows are from a pretty substantial range is very good, especially in Solo Q where unskilled survivors throw down every pallet without looping like it's going out of fashion

I don't really have an issue with it. It can highlight glaring issues with tile spacing *cough*Garden of Joy*cough*, but that doesn't mean the perk itself is broken.
2 -
Yeah but it's like the second most picked survivor perk after dead hard. Windows was never quite this popular before.
Imo I like the perk. It's strong without being busted, but that never stopped a perk from getting destroyed before (rip iron will) so I'm expecting bhvr to completely obliterate this perk once meta shake up patch #2 comes.

It’s never left my kit for ages. I’ve always ran windows. I’m addicted to it like I’m addicted to shadowborn on blight.

Windows is a good perk for beginners and intermediate survivors, to learn the layout of the map and looping spots. It's also useful to evaluate resources.
Not much else to talk about. It's nice, and killers have the exact same perk on their side, which is rare enough to be noted and quite amusing in game design.
Definitely one of the nicer, balanced perks.

Windows 100% wins games - It's worth running!

Killer version, barring certain killers (IE Doctor), is not really useful, as Survivors lead the chase.
1 -
i think its a good balanced perk, bond is also nice

Windows should deactivate after dropping 3 pallets and not reactivate until they get hooked. It's too good for it to always be on.

I am starting to think people do not know what the word "meta" means, and "most popular" is not it.
4 -
In the past the perk used to have a cooldown and it was still very strong. Then they removed the cooldown from Zanshin Tactics and used it as and excuse to buff Windows as well, even though one is clearly more useful than the other.
It's certainly a strong survivor perk, not the most busted one but still very strong.

Nah, Iron Will was busted. You can't have some sort of sound-based Killer, and rely on Killers having bad viewing angles when they are going round corners, and also have a perk that makes someone absolutely silent with no conditions beyond 'injured'. Especially not when the other ways to track (blood and scratches) are subject to weird RNG and map hiding at all times.

Windows has always been that 5th or 6th perk to me. A good perk but there are usually 4-5 perks I prefer ahead of it. I think after the mid year perk overhaul it's become that bit more popular because people dropped other, more preferable perks, that were nerfed
2 -
I agree that it's less useful than the survivor version, but i's not useless either. As killer you can herd the survivor towards certain zones. By choosing from which side to break pallet for example, or cutting their way running towards the loop they were aiming for. On some killers it's okay and on some killers it's not, but that's nothing new about perks.
It can also let you know if you're about to hit chained loops and if you should drop chase.
So it still has uses in my opinion. It's just more advanced and macro play than Windows, but not enough value compared to other killer perks for it to be brought. =)

Even though Survivors can lead the chase, Killers to have the ability to zone Survivors away from certain structures, which is why I find Zanshin Tactics to be a decent perk on any killer with moderate anti-loop.
I mean Windows of Opportunity is still definitely better than Zanshin Tactics, but I feel like people really undervalue Zanshin Tactics since it's a ye ole case of "well there are better perks you could run".

I think that is a great perk for new players

He really is running out of content to do, isn't he.

Thinking that Windows is a beginner-only perk is the best way to out yourself as one.
0 -
I'm not saying it's exclusively for beginners. I'm saying it's especially nice to have as a beginner.
Nor am I hiding in any way that I'm on the lower end of average. It's not something I'm ashamed of. =)

Lol, lmao even

A good example of a strong but healthy perk.
1 -
It’s fine. Most better survivors don’t really run it and all it does is prevent running into dead zones and identifying strong tile chains

I play predominantly solo queue so windows never leaves my build. It helps to know if I'm running towards a deadzone because my teammate already dropped every pallet on this side of the map at 5 gens.

Nice trench coat, my totally human compatriot!
1 -
I use it all the time in solo, as well - it definitely wins games!

Its generally not useful enough for the perk slot is the bigger issue. People even in this topic have made that argument against windows, but its especially true with zanshin. Its extremely hard to justify when too many perks feel either necessary due to the game's design, or multiple slots taken up by necessary synergy combinations for certain perks. Its not so much that its worthless as it is not being worth its minimum "cost" of a spot.
0 -
That's fair =)

Nice Steve profile, my equally human companion!
1 -
Dude, its not that hard to find pallets and windows, the only thing of real usefulness windows does is give you information if a pallet is already dropped which is very nieche by itself.
0 -
That's literally game-winning information.

Always been a good perk hopefully it doesn’t get nerfed
1 -
Meta and popular aren't mutually exclusive.
There's probably a reason it's the second most popular perk, though.

like a mettle of man proc. It can proc every match if you try hard enough, but how many time it will be so impactuful that will win the game?
0 -
It can also help win the game in the first chase.
