Matches are rough as solo survivor...
You would think with it being xmas people playing killer would be a bit more chill but holy hell the games have been rough in solo queue today, at least where I am.
Killers sweating from the second the match starts with slugging camping and tunnelling off hook even at 5 gens. Or just running the sweatiest builds imaginable to the point random team mates pretty much just give up.
I feel the game is having the fun sucked out of it and its getting really hard to find enjoyment with the current meta. Hopefully they can address some of these issues asap in the new year!

Sounds like a normal day to me, haha.

Lmao... your name is so apt

Put on an ugly sweater. Take some fire crackers. Run a meme build. Do whatever you feel like in a match that, in that very moment, makes it fun. Don't make the fun you're having depending on the outcome of the match. - Enjoy your two to five minutes of fun. Go next. Repeat.
But seriously - I've found that not giving a f* about the match outcome and only caring about the very moment you're in in a match is the only way to not snap in SoloQ.

I didn't even attempt to play a single game as solo survivor (and won't today and tomorrow) so my Christmas won't be ruined, but I'll chill a bit as killer later and do event tome challenges.
I watched a bunch of people equipping loot builds in 4SWF and collecting gifts for the killer in the basement rather than doing gens, and even without any gens popping, killers were sweating as if someone threated to kill their cat if they wouldn't get a 4k in three minutes.

I learned ages ago to not play multiplayer games on worldwide festivity days because the % of jackasses increases exponentially, my guess is the more normal and social people are attending social/family gatherings and on top of that petty people are usually pettier during these days.
So more jackasses per square meter than regular days and in an even worse mood.

I played a dozen games yesterday, and got ggez'd twice by killers, which is twice more than I've had in my last 200h.
That being said, I also had a lot of merry christmas and happy holidays in the chat, which was very nice, and met maybe the fairest, most chill Huntress I've ever seen.
So definitely not all bad ! =)

Lol yeah I feel you, what the hell is going on today?!
Don't get me wrong I have encountered some nice people today but the really unpleasant players are really out spreading misery today for some reason

Its not that I really care about 'winning' a match with thousands of hours in the game that doesn't really appeal as much as having fun. I just want a normal match where the killer isn't tunnelling at 5 gens or running really unfun builds on S tier killers... I don't even care if I don't survive the match so long as there are lots of fun chases and more interaction than killers kicking gens all game

to be honest, it's the russians on the EU servers who are once again not able to play normally but have to show that they are the superior and if it's only 4 minutes they watch you bleedout.

I feel like anyone who isn't doing other stuff on christmas day of all days, certainly at this time, is going to be a fairly antisocial sweaty gamer.
Games will probably be a bit more chill this evening once all the drunk people get on after spending time with the family lol
I know me and my swf are planning a drunk by daylight session later. And I'm already 5 drinks in lol.

better boot up the game now, later it could be difficult! sounds like a solid plan! have fun!

"so my christmas won't be ruined"
This is so true.

This sounds hilarious. I should do one as well with a couple of friends !

It'll be a laugh. I imagine after a couple games we're going to end up with a lot of 4ks 🤣 christmas time for the killers
1 -
Oh I will. 😁 need to spend time with the fam first. Then killers get to chase whiskey jeff 😆 I'll be tripping on every vault lol

Nice oh and I am sure there are, don't get me wrong.

The only people playing on Christmas Eve/Day are people that play this game too much. People that play this game too much are really good. Good players tend to be sweaty.

Sweeping generalization. Should have maybe changed it to "most people", and most people who choose to game on xmas day would probably still be good gamers. No disrespect to you or your husband, hope you guys have a good christmas. 😊

Probably a fair point too, well the sweat is definitely out today that is for sure!

So because it's Xmas killers should go afk and let you do gens? xD
I don't tunnel, don't camp and yet still get easy kills because ppl in solo Q do just really stupid stuff...
Like yday... I carry someone to a hook and I can CLEARLY HEAR there's someone walking right behind me...So I hook, turn around and bam get a hit and a down. The person DCs...
Like what? What did you expect?
Either way, I always chill. I always try to farm, hook everyone if situation allows it, usually let the last person go. But so many times survs just do bizzare plays and get themselves killed literally for free.
PS. MAKE SNOW MAN PERMANENT!!!!!

Strawman argument, nobody expects people to not play the game but if you want to make points that I didn't make you can argue that one out with yourself as you sure aren't responding to any point I made.

I don't celebrate Christmas.
I spend all of christmas day playing basement Bubba and farm salt. It was very effective and quite glorious.

Well Christmas and New Year's are the hardest time for some If they are playing the game on Christmas most likely they are lonely and angry, this is not the case for all but for some might try to relieve anger playing like that.Doesnt make it right but might be the cause, so take that into consideration .

I have considered that maybe at least some of them are angry and bitter and want to take in out on others for some reason...
Thankfully there were some 'normal' people and I switched to playing killer myself and I let a lot of survivors go after I two hooked them all. Just to balance out the misery and toxicity that the angry players spread in the community...

Killers should sweat from the second the match starts - because you don't know if you're up against a bunch of sleepy kittens or a pack of velociraptors. And if you go easy from the start, you wind up at 4 gens done with 0 hooks before you know what's happening.
What killers should also do is probably ease up a little bit once they realize it's a stomp.
One thing I've learned as of late.
I could swear they actually debunked this, but I have no idea where I read it.
The Holidays are a season where almost everyone feels better about themselves - mid January into February are where people get depressed.
Also - I game at Christmas because it's freezing outside, the relatives have all gone home and the family are all wiped.
Bleh. I had a bunch of flans saved up and tried to play extra nice.
I made a thread on me facing a partial comp team who were sweaty and toxic as hell.
Killers are no more and no less sweaty than they'd ever been.
The tricky thing about survivor is BP and Grade.
Even in a losing match (most of the time) the killer can at least safety pip and get 20k. For survivor, especially if you're the first down and then get hard camped or bled out with something like Lethal Pursuer, you can end up with sub 5k and depipping and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Maybe as a way to not have a chain reaction, because most people will live like sheep.I game too on holiday's also, that's why I said this is for some not all.At this point I don't even know if it's by choice or am i just a pariah.I know i there's some people,I just don't want to visit tho lol 😆
Yep there's soon to be either a really chill match ,are someone who will just let survivor's go never sure there reason tho 🤔 but they want to farm but it sometimes feels awkward to farm

I don't really want to just sit there and farm, I still want to chase and get hooks etc. I am just more than happy to let two or even all of them go at the end.
I agree with StarLost (though I cant @ them or quote their comment for some reason) that if you realise you are going to stomp then ease back a bit and even if I intend to get Merciless I will chill out a bit and let everyone get saves and 3 hooks each.
0 -
Yeah, that's what I try to do. I don't want to farm or waste time, but I will let folks heal, I'll try to 2hook everyone before killing them and maybe let them finish a few gens before I end it.
It grinds my gears though that I still get DC's and quitters in almost 1/3 of my matches.

absolutely - that's why I recommend not caring about the match outcome (aka MMR, BP and Pips) in SoloQ. It's a recipe for misery.
[Also. I'm 100% for removing de-pips. While the difference between black pipping and one pipping is generally related to how good you were at doing several different things, the things that make the difference between black pipping and de-pipping are usually completely out of your control (safe for dc-ing and being two tap followed by suicide on hook - those two are entirely up to you. - Heck, for all I care reserve de-pips for dc-ing and suicide on hook; aka taking chances + dying on first hook).]

I rarely get DC's, the only one I had in the past few days was when I was playing Bubba and I hooked a survivor in the basement lol
I had zero intention of camping and immediately pursued the survivors far away I saw on BBQ but they still quit as I guess they just expected the usual boring Bubba thing

That's amazing.
I'm one of the nicest killers you are likely to meet, and the second I get an early down or someone tries something silly and fails, they'll either DC or suicide.
