I’m betting at least 30% of kill rates are because of hook suicides

I literally can’t go more than 3 games without someone DC’ing or attempting to kill themselves on hook

From both perspectives it just makes the game unfun. As a survivor it’s frustrating as you know the games pretty much lost and there’s nothing you can do, and as a killer you just feel bad for the survivors and the game no longer becomes a challenge

Maybe it’s time to remove self unhook outside of Deliverance and Slippery Meat. If people want to leave then they should have to DC then suffer the consequences of a time out, rather than the current hook suicide/ faux DC system we currently have in place that has no drawbacks

    Yes

    While games with any DC are not taken into account for statistics (this was obvious, but devs also mentioned it), early suicides have non-negligible impact on overall kill rates

    3vs1 situation at 3+ remaining generators (even 1 generator left if oppressive killer with lots of slowdown perks) is a granted victory for the killer, unless he decides to play gentle or he made lots of mistakes.

    However, I will never blame anyone, esp solo players, to commit an early suicide after they noticed that the stupidly OP and boring eruption perk was brought by the killer!

    1.) Remove the 4%-Option, instead, make Deliverance able to use in 2nd stage too

    2.) Disable the "leave match"-option. If u use task manager then, youll receive a 15min penalty

    Problem: In SWF, Gens would go faster, because no one has to leave his gen for the rescue anymore.

    So if someone uses it, Gens are blocked afterwards or anything. Its kinda hard to find a solution.

    What's sadder is that BHVR leaves the said loophole unpunished for no good reason.

    Tie it to a perk. You can no longer attempt escape. Change Slippery Meat to give a 25% chance of unhooking, but you only get 1 or 2 attempts. After attempts you have 10 seconds before you hit stage 2. Then remove skill check regression in stage 2. For every skill check you hit, you get a decent amount of BP and pause the timer for a split second. Don't hit a skill check, you get nothing.

    Any data BHVR get on kill rates are pretty shaky with how common suicides on hooks are. You can probably take off a few percent off every killer simply to account for 'em I'd wager.

    Average kill rates have always been above 50% since they started doing stats every once in a while, the amount is absolutely nowhere near 30% of deaths are suicides.

    I can't speak for everyone obviously, but I don't let go on hook and my escape rate (solo) is a bit under the 40%. Excluding hatch escapes and pity escapes from killers, my escape rate is probably around 30%

    Nah. Because sometimes I get crashes and need to use task manager.

    I'd say:

    • Remove self unhooks completely, outside of deliverance. Rework luck perks.
    • DC penalty only decays when you successfully finish matches without DCing.

    I care.

    It ruins maybe a 1/3 of my killer games and maybe 1/4 of my survivor games.

    I'd say...more like...ugh, don't make me do math.

    I will say I see at least one suicide, AFK or DC in every three games.

    Only time I will suicide is if my team mates just all sit on gens and let me go to stage 2 before they decide to come and save me. I see that a fair amount of times these days. Probably my biggest pet hate next to people just blatantly suiciding on hook without ever giving you a chance to save them.

    In the same way that another 30% of the killer rate is driven by eruption and other bs given over to brainless people with no skills whatsoever

    If you're playing on the East Coast NA above the MMR ceiling, 30% is largely inflated. It might seem like that bc you're stranded in a 3v1 as a result, but I've been collecting some data and the numbers do not corroborate that. It's something around 5-10%.

    Give the hatch or let at least 2 survivors escape if someone kill themselves on hook to balance it out then, if that concerns you

    I say leave Deliverance as is, but restore Reassurance to PTB status. The reasoning behind the nerf was ridiculous. It wasn’t going to be abused by 3 man SWF’s solely to troll 1 solo teammate. Dumb.
