Perk Buff Ideas That May Or May Not Be Good! (Survivor AND Killer)

Quick Gambit (Vittorio)

Current Effect:

Increases the Repair speed of any other Survivor by 6/7/8 %, while you are being chased within 24 meters of the Generator they are currently repairing.

New Effect:

When unhooked, Quick Gambit is activated for 50 second. Quick Gambit deactivates whenever you do a Conspicuous Action or are put into the dying state.

  • While being chased by the Killer, all Survivors repair Generators 6/7.5/9% faster.
  • This effect is doubled for Survivors within 18 meters of you, but does not apply if the Survivor is elevated or below you.

The Intended Effect:

The goal of this is allow Quick Gambit to actually see some use, providing a new anti-tunnel perk that rewards teammates for progressing the objective, as well as rewarding Survivors for making risky plays near Generator repairs. However, to not overtune it's effectiveness in Indoor Maps, or Multi-Level Maps, it does not work with Survivors of a different elevation.

Grim Embrace (The Artist)

Current Effect:

Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, Grim Embrace gains a Token. Upon reaching 4 Tokens, Grim Embrace activates:

  • The Entity blocks all Generators for 30/35/40 seconds.
  • The Aura of the Obsession is revealed to you for 5 seconds.

New Effect:

Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, Grim Embrace gains a Token. Upon reaching 4 Tokens, Grim Embrace activates:

  • The Entity blocks all Generators for 40/50/60 seconds.
  • All Survivors are afflicted with 3% Hindered for 40 seconds.
  • The Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 5 seconds, the Aura of the Obsession is revealed for an addition 3 seconds.

The Intended Effect:

No Way Out is a perk that often sees more usage than Grim Embrace due to it's duration and utility. No Way Out only starts it's activation upon the Exit Gates being touched by a Survivor, which gives it the potential to be lethal in some instances. Grim Embrace will now provide a similar lethality but earlier on the match, better rewarding Killer for going the extra mile to go for different Survivors earlier on.

    I disagree with Grim embrace because if your version came out camping would be made even more viable. Cause 60 seconds of not being able to work on gens and the killer can straight up camp an entire hook state with 60 seconds.

    the rest is honestly fine on Grim Embrace

    The issue is honestly not the perk, but just how much camping is enabled through normal gameplay.

    Ive said this time and time again, but the only way to ever deal with camping and tunneling is to introduce systems to deal with it, perks bandaid fix the issue and perks "enabling camping" is an excuse to hold perks back because the developers dont want to properly introduce measures to deal with it.

    Surge (Demogorgon) Not a bad one right now but: The change would be that it would work with abilities. I only see her as potentially dangerous with Oni or Huntress.

    By the way, I like the idea of Quick Gambit.

    overzealous: same effect as now, but it also increases vaulting speed as well (though maybe make a hard cap of like 15%, as i feel 18% from breaking a hex totem + resilience would be wayy too oppressive.)

    second wind/renewal: make it so you get healed to healthy no matter what (so even if you're in deep wound, youll go to healthy). wouldnt be opposed to adding another type of condition for it as you can easily force a BT hit and then get healed fully, but idk what condition it should be.
