Can you guys please remove the dc penalty if the game crashes?
I get that players would find ways to crash games to avoid dc penalty, but just because they would try to do something, people who are innocent get to suffer for no reason and now I'm literally on a whole day ban because of it. PLEASE REMOVE IT, I BEG. If you don't try to make this game better for the players, I can guarantee you that you will lose your players and they will move forward to a way better game so please.

If you have managed to get that big of a dc penalty you need to take the time and fix the instability of your install and not blame the devs for your problems.

That's not possible.
- The game does not know WHY you DC'd, only that you DC'd. There is, quite literally, 0 ways for the game to know you crashed or if you pulled the plug on your router, or if your power went out.
- If you're on a whole day ban; you must have 'crashed' allot. May want to get that fixed instead of ruining matches for other players. Repeatedly.
- As you said, Players would find a way to abuse it. So even if they could determine crashes from DCs; why would they do it just to give salty players an exploit?

Sadly all this is true. Since they cannot differentiate between crashes and actual DC's the penalty system treats them all the same.
Admittedly, it doesn't help that DBD isn't the most stable game around either.

Out of curiosity: how can they not diffentiate between two those things if crashes literally give you crash report with option to send it to developers?.. Isn't it a good way to differentiate them?
I know it's impossible to differentiate legit and forced DCs but differentiate between crash and not a crash?..

Because the crash report is on your PC, and set to the developers.
It's not sent to the game server you just left. By the time 'crash report' shows up on your PC (itself being a failsafe called when the game shuts down in ANY improper way); the server only saw that you disappeared.
And at that point, with the game now shut down, how would the crash report even know what server to send a 'This was a crash' signal too?
And again; If this were even a thing, Players would find a way to force crashes in order to dodge DC penalties.

Makes sense, thank you!

No problem! :) I only have a very rudimentary understanding of code, but it's usually just barely enough to explain a thing here or there.
Anything more detailed than what I said above would require someone with more knowledge than I have.

Also the consoles do not get crash reports or record anything useful, and that's the majority of the playerbase too. And imo the game is even less stable on the consoles, especially the last gen machines.
