blocking killers
wesker is boring but legion is awful.
are the devs offering survivors the ability to not join a lobby for certain killer?
i'd like a blacklist for legion.

Won't happen. Why should Killers be forced into longer queue times just because Survivors want to avoid certain Killers?
Nurse and Blight players would literally never get a match.

Meh.
I'd like to see a system implemented where Killers you haven't gone against in a while are weighted heavier than others.
If you've played against 5 Legion's, you shouldn't go against another Legion. I'd trade this for the map system they're planning in a heartbeat. Is playing on Eyrie 5 times annoying? Yeah. Is playing against the same Killer 5 times even worse? Yup

i'd take the block, but with a fair trade, killers can avoid survivors using a perk of choosing. most of the survivors wouldn't find lobby
16 -
i would pick tombstone myers
also when i play wraith the swf flash lighters survivors feel like killers so I'll like to ban them too.
also ban legion
3 -
Nah. That's like saying killers should be able to see SWFs. Neither will ever happen.
10 -
People would already do this with p2p servers when they were a thing and legit some people would never find matches or needed a VPN. My friend was a pig main back in the day when you could just plop a rbt on someone end game and it didn't need to be active to kill the survivors that try to exit the gate and safe to say he 100% needed a vpn. Even then people made programs to see what killer they were going against and it would instantly DC them from pre game lobbies.
2 -
That would be extremely unhealthy for the game and I don't even need to explain why, it doesn't take a genius to understand why that's a horrible idea.
This post screams "I'm too lazy to learn how to counter a killer so I never want to fight them again."

Trapper queue times become instant forever!
7 -
I mean, I know it would cause massive problems but I sure would be happy to never see Dredge again.
3 -
LOL, I'm just flabbergasted people are STILL complaining about Legion....
Survivors on here really will find any and everything to complain about. The answer is no, implementing such a thing would be awful for queue times. Play the match, or DC & get penalized, or suicide on hook and throw the other Survivors under the bus because you wanted to be selfish about which Killers you do/don't wanna face.
15 -
Part of playing this game is that you're agreeing to play against any killer, survivor, perk, item, addon, whatever. I understand everyone has stuff they hate playing against but you gotta deal with it.
Heck this is even weirder to say if you're playing as survivor since you have an easy way out of the game early without even getting a penalty, killers don't have that.

i feel like there's at least 4 people on at all times that want to go against a nurse or blight, me included (not nurse though) so you're a little overdramatic with that 'literally never', although I do get that their queues would be considerably longer because if people had the option to not go against the top 2 killers they probably would pick it
1 -
hoping this is implemented. i'll take longer queue times if i never have to face a legion again.
the games are always thrown by other survivors.
solo queue queen here
1 -
Meh, only killer i think people should be able to blacklist is clown if they have coulraphobia. Maybe plague (have a friend who has an irrational hatred of vomiting and playing plague makes her super uncomfortable)
Not like people can ban a hero on overwatch or avoid certain maps on games.
1 -
that sounds like a terrible idea. i'd never get to play against nurse because everyone else would block them and i'd never get enough people to fill out a team
5 -
maybe that would lead to the necessary changes.
1 -
Me getting 10 hour long queues as Nurse but instant matches as Trapper because of this awful idea affecting matchmaking.
7 -
These kinda posts make me think there's a large segment of the playerbase that should stick to single player games
13 -
Solo queue "queen"?
Is it a heroic act now to play in a certain way?
6 -
Yeah solo survivor is unplayable.
It's almost always Legion, and that killer press a button injure every survivor, and see their aura all the time. If survivors only knew what to do, but never because matchmaking is made for killer mains. So yeah 0 skill killer, just press a button requires zero mechanical skill, see you, can't outrun etc.
Surprise surprise about 50% of games vs legion.
Any serious game let players to ban something. But dbd no
1 -
There are no necessary changes.
0 -
Funny that all those games let the players choose their character during lobby and not go with a fixed character into queue, hm?
Also since when is DBD a "serious game", i thought it was a "CaSuAl PaRtY game"? /S
1 -
The only real problem with Legion is that they encourage bad habits in new/baby killers (I know this for a fact, because I play Legion a lot) and that people group up around them making it easy af to get their chained-frenzy and deep-wound off.
0 -
still hoping 4 an implementation like this.
0 -
they're not going to ever implement a change that negatively affects someone who plays a specific killer, least of all the killers queue time. IF they're so problematic they'll nerf the killer
so many people use "boring" as a reason to hate pretty much every killer in the game, generally anti-loop killers. Yes, I agree, Legion, an M1 killer and one of the easiest killers to loop in the game, is boring.
2 -
They should let survivors ban 2 killers and let killers ban 2 maps.
Survivors will very likely not all ban the same killers, so it will barely affect queue times. People blindly think it will just be Nurse when in reality there are tons of killers that are more annoying to play against, like Pinhead, Knight, Plague etc...
And it's much better to have a queue take maybe 15 seconds longer than have people DC in the 1st minute and ruin the whole match because they didn't like the killer.
2 -
Although a good idea, the actual implementation of it would be rather difficult when considering the current system. The devs are trying hard enough as it is to pair same skilled players, so adding more things would just skew this even more
2 -
There's literally a % of people that exclusively throw the game because they are facing a certain killer they don't like, so better add this feature but just with the possibility to add one killer, and we will see how it goes.
If nurse is really that hated, the devs will finally decide to rework her power
1 -
People keep shoplifting from my store, and there's always a % of people who will shoplift...so rather than getting better at catching shoplifters or, I dunno, jail, I'm just going to give all my stuff away for free - because then nobody will shoplift!
But fair enough, you get to block a killer.
I get to block any SWF with more than 2 people.
Deal!
6 -
Let me block all SWFs and/or anyone using Dead Hard and I’d go for it.
4 -
I say we also make it so the killer can't leave the pregame lobby then either without DC penalty. Why do you get to dodge games you think won't be fun, but not us?
2 -
I think that's a bad analogy. A better one would be: People keep leaving your store because you treat them like garbage the moment they walk in the door. Sometimes, you even hit one in the face ten seconds after they enter. So intead of treating the problem(you), you want a one-way door that traps them into your store while you harass them.
Treating the symptoms instead of the problems will make sure the problem itself never goes away. It will ensure you slowly lose business though.

...
Did you just seriously compare...literally 'playing killer' to assaulting people IRL? I think my head may explode.
Note, this isn't like my example of 'sometimes people do a bad thing, so we should just bend over backwards to accommodate them in the hopes that they will stop doing that bad thing out of the kindness of their heart' which...sure, wasn't perfect because no analogy is, but my point is - if you have to give in to them to stop bad people from doing a bad thing, you may as well just close up and go home.
And no. The killer isn't the store owner.
The store owner is BHVR.
What's the problem, exactly? Have you...ever played an online game before? People will quit when they start losing. You can't make everyone win all the time.
7 -
This would require someone to actually play Billy.
1 -
...Who even does this anymore?
Like, unless it's an obvious hacker or something then - sure?
Also, how on earth are the two remotely comparable. Dodging the lobby doesn't lock all four survivors into the next game. Killers can't just suicide...you do know this right?
3 -
Beside the suspected hackers : Wraith or Hag in a four-flashlights lobby. I'm not that much of a masochist.
0 -
I'll just bring Franklin's on either. Hag...yeah, that's going to depend on map.
IWOM? Midwich? Autohaven maps? I'll give it a try.
Ormond?
But nah, worst case scenario - I probably lose, or I need to play mean to stand a chance.
The only lobbies I'll dodge are:
- Legacy cosmetics and a private profile/anon mode/less than 1,000 hours. Nope, you're a hacker.
- Someone I played against before and they were either very suspicious, very rude or were AFK.
- Uhhh...
No, that's about it. Like - some matches (4 medkits for example) you know are probably going to be impossible, but it's still just a loss.
0 -
My usual opponents are already pretty annoying without flashlights (I'm only average with her and I get full teams who know exactly how and when to disarm the traps while working each on his gen. I don't need flashlights into the mix.)
0 -
Oh yeah, people know how to handle Hag now - but you can still do some tricks. I just poop traps out as I go, and try to never be floating traps.
They go at the tops of staircases, around corners, behind vaults, down pits etc. After a while they get so paranoid that they're spending all their time disarming my traps.
The only folks that give me the fizzy poops are the ones who'll follow you around from the get go, disarming traps and being uncatchable with your slow speed.

Sounds cute but doesn't this just end up pushing killers for playing killers who are popular by giving them a long queue? Like "oh wow everyone loves playing [insert killer here], we're so glad everyone brought and is enjoying this chapter and as a special reward have a longer queue." On one hand, it would be nice to incentivise more variety but oh no I got my blight daily so I must be punished with a queue that's twice as long for trying to complete it.
1 -
It always end-up like your last type of survivors.
Additionally, they never get a cam swing from the traps so it's pretty much powerless against them.
0 -
Sure.... Why not. As long as killers can see who is in SWF and survivors are locked to their build when they enter lobby. So no last second switch anymore.
2 -
Only if I can avoid swfs and gen rushers
5 -
Killers aren't going to get avoided. But casuals that play Wesker nonstop will have to pick various killers :)
0 -
...Wesker?
Wesker is fine. Fair and powerful. Who's salty about Wesker?
I'm more concerned with killers like Legion, Trickster, Trapper, Hag and Bubba.
1 -
Everyone would just block nurse or blight and those killers would have trouble finding games. A blacklist is a bad idea.
4 -
So u want that Killers going to have Endless Q Time because Survivors are going to Block every Killer except Pig, Trapper, Onryo and Freddy ? 🤷♀️
4 -
Thatll be added when killers get to block any survivors with perks they don't like
0 -
I hope they implent this but when you choose a killer to not face you just don't get any matches at all anymore as a april fools joke
Or make you are locked with a crying baby charm
2 -
I don't think adding more useless matchmaking parameters will make things better...Imagine that you now can avoid every Nurse and Blight and PinHead player, those guys will never get matches within reasonable time. Not only that you're negating all the effort those players put in playing those killers for however long they have. It's simply unfair and unjustifiable.
