That Feeling When...
Wesker and Knight are getting boring, there isn't any challenge anymore. None of the teams I face are good, so I decide to swap to Onryo.
And then I instantly get a (according to them) competitive team. I haven't played Onryo in months and this match did not go well for me lmao I only got 7 hooks
Needed that ego check and a reminder that I can always improve more, wish I could get those people WHEN I PLAY KILLERS I LIKE TO PLAY

A jack of all trades like Onryo will have issues dealing with a team who knows what they are doing. You did well for getting 7 hooks
3 -
Eh, I could have won.
I could see the win condition, acknowledged it and totally fumbled the bag. Lots to improve on, I'm not used to teams pushing back on me when I have momentum.
0 -
Honestly 7 hooks as sadako is pretty good against a self proclaimed comp team
6 -
Ahahaha yeah. Christmas Eve, on Demo. With a chill build and a flan - go in expecting a fun game but get a crazy genrushing comp team that absolutely slaughters me and cusses me out in postgame.
So I fire up my Hag, and run into a bunny rabbit team next who cuss me out for being sweaty.
This game...I swear, I just can't sometimes.

How oddly familar.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.
2 -
At what point was Knight not boring..?
5 -
Those types of games are the best and I wish I could get them with any consistency. 90% of killer games are relatively easy wins and that gets really boring. I wish there was some transparency, even a little, so players could give better feedback about matchmaking. I'd even settle for MMR emblems if only to say "This type of matchup sucks, and this one is good." We're all just guessing and that makes it unreasonably difficult for the devs to improve. If we have to guess, then they have to guess as far as what we mean as it relates to MMR.

When I thought he was the worst Killer but decided to main him anyway and then found that he's actually good
2 -
Your bar is way higher then mine.
7 hooks against an apperent competive team with a killer you haven't played in ages is not something i would call not gone well
2 -
Comp teams are rare. But I have never gone against one who isn't salty and cussing me out in end game regardless of the outcome. Always running the sweatiest builds and will still flame me for getting a 2k with no add-ons on cowshed as blight. I also typically find they are just really efficient not necessarily cracked in chase.
0 -
If they were a comp team and gave you 7 hooks as onryo they were a pretty bad comp team.
2 -
Or.. hear me out
Pulsar is actually a good player, and comp teams a tad bit overrated
1 -
To be fair, you were playing Hag.
1 -
Dude all the time. I’ll play 10 games in a row of blight and stomp every single team, none of them being above average. I’ll take a break and play a pig game or something and get the comp SWF that brings me to eryie and I get maybe a 1k. Then I’m left reassuring myself “if you had blight, it woulda been ggez”😂😂😂
0 -
I do not doubt pulsar at all, but if you are good/decent comp team, there is at least a minimun I would expect, and that minimum is dunking on every m1 killer, if you are in a 4 man swf, know how to do good comms, know how the game works and have good perks, there is no excuse that you let a sadako get more than 4 hooks, you might have played in tournaments but you are not a good team.
1 -
Not if said M1 killer (the player) is of equal caliber. I also highly doubt a comp team would be giving it their all in a pub match
1 -
I would love to see you play with knight then. Honestly I just can't get the hang of him. I do well enough against "normal" teams, but as soon as I run into efficient gameplay I just can't keep up with them.
To quote the trapper, 4 minutes into the trial I get a "when did I loose control of the situation" moment
0 -
I guess I just don't see the appeal of *drop guard at pallet->survivor runs to next pallet->repeat until the survivor is stuck in a corner tile->win*
1 -
You've never seen my Hag ^^. Not a campy Hag at all...more 'there are traps exactly where I'm herding you at all times' Hag.
'Cracked' is relative. They had 6,000 hours on their weakest member. I've got...maybe a total of 800 hours on killer. Crazy good, played every loop, slipped away from every blow, two of them had Fogwise/Hyperfocus/Stakeout so they were calling out where I was constantly. Game took...6 minutes total, including a prolonged fight over the gate.
Either SBMM really pooped itself or they'd spent ages smurfing down their MMR. Or @edgarpoop is right and Demogorgon has some bug that gives him a massively inflated MMR.
I still think he's crap. Just 'herd people forever until they go into a deadzone/corner and M1 them'. We'll see how the midchapter helps him.

I picked him up this weekend thinking that he was underrated but no...... truly awful killer. Like really really bad. I'll stick with clown and legion.
0 -
They weren't the best team I've ever gone against.
They felt like a team I'd see on Tofu's scrim nights. Sort of transitioning from pubs to comp. They played chases super well but they didn't have the greatest macro game even though they tried, which is what allowed me to stay in it.
2 -
Knight, to me, is basically a Killer you must play in the super "boring" comp way. He's a very macro heavy Killer.
Ironically enough, I do find him similar to Trapper. Find an area of the map, herd people into it, destroy the pallets and hold the gens. He's great at pressuring multiple people, tunneling, camping and holding 3-gens. Most loops aren't good at slowing him down either.
I can definitely see why the majority of players dislike playing him (let alone playing against him) but I do find him to be pretty fun.
0 -
He plays a game similar to Trapper or Hag. Territory control and time waste.
He's a slow and methodical Killer, not a fragging Killer like Blight or Nurse. Also, the Midchapter isn't gonna help him. People aren't gonna use long range Guards because you still lose more distance in a chase.
0 -
Wonder why our experiences are so different. It took me awhile to get the hang of him, but I don't often lose anymore.
0 -
Do you utilize three gen strat?
0 -
Depends on what you mean.
Do I find a 3-gen at the start and never leave? No.
Do I herd Survivors into a specific area of the map as to waste the resources since it's around 3-gens that I'd like to hold? Yes, but I don't ignore the other gens.
0 -
I want to use guards in chase though, that's how his power intuitively plays for me. And this will...help.
0 -
Unfortunately, that's basically the thing he's the worst at.
Long-range Guards do pretty much nothing for you and I think the Haste is only 5% or something like that.
0 -
5% is pretty solid. I'm not trying to chase with the guard, I'm trying to pop him into the loop/structure the survivor is running to in order to pincer them, or to force them out at a bad angle.
Right now, this seldom works because of how much space I lose. Post patch...it might be viable. We'll have to see.
0 -
I see. He is not for me then. I can't be bothered with tactics such as hard enforcing a 3 gen, I find camping unsatisfying, though I'm not against tunneling if the situation presents itself (sometimes you just keep running into the same survivor over and over, and I ain't gonna just pretend I didn't see them).
I like to roam the map and relentlessly chase survivors like an angry bull.
0 -
Well, then I agree with your assessment, probably not the best fit for you.
0 -
You've never seen my Hag ^^. Not a campy Hag at all...more 'there are traps exactly where I'm herding you at all times' Hag.
Both sound extremely unfun to play against.

Ah, an Oni enjoyer?
0 -
I've only recently returned to playing DBD after my long hiatus (def needed it) and I've been having a blast with Wesker. I honestly can't see myself getting bored with him, although I AM a diehard Resident Evil fan, so there's a huge bonus there xD.
Knight I haven't played yet but he sorta seems not really my cup of tea, I'll absolutely give him a try whenever I get him...but given my top fav Killers have been Michael Myers, Ghostface, Pig and Legion, it be a bitnif a departure from how I'm kinda muscle-memoried into play. As far as facing Knights when I play Survivor, they have quickly become my least favorite to face...so SO many hard tunnel and just won't leave the Hook area EVER.
0 -
Ah...you want a killer that you can just loop forever.
0 -
That’s what majority of them want. Hence why I get so much hatred for playing blight. They can’t hold that beloved W key and win chases.
0 -
Actually no. I did tried him as I was attracted to his entire concept (angry bull and all that) but I just couldn't click with him and after 20 or so games I found out I just wasn't enjoying him so he went to the scrap bin.
I'm currently maining wraith with heavy chase and info build. Also pyramid and plague, but wraith is the one I can always do well with even against strong teams.
0 -
Nothing wrong with enjoying the classics
0 -
LMAO the knight a good killer XD... I swear, today I read a lot of funny stuff, but this is one of the best jokes that I've read (still under the "myers is a s tier killer" sentence)
1 -
Just cuz you can't play him well doesn't mean others haven't started to figure him out :)
1 -
I like macro killers, but Knight...doesn't really seem to play like that for me. It's more like playing a neutered Artist - just forcing people off loops until you corner them, but without the skillshot aspect.

I can win most matches with her using Jolt, Pain Res, Sloppy and BBQ to help me choose my next tv to teleport to. I am not going to claim I am an expert as my addon choice is 'whatever' but I tend to make heavy use of the tv's and grind them down with sloppy hit and run and by the time they get to 2 gens map resources are getting low and they are abandoning heals.
I have never resorted to the condemned tactic either but I have rarely lost playing as above and think she is not as bad as people say. Map mobility is so strong when you can get from one side to the other in seconds
0 -
or maybe you are finding bad survivors and you are overestimating your skills... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2enARw01Sw4
how much "strong" your killer is...
0 -
I actually do like playing knight in general, it's just that I don't feel I can really do well with him. Or more specifically, that whether I do well or not doesn't really depend on me, but the survivors.
And it does get a bit frustrating. But from OPs answer I surmise that I simply don't have the mindset to play him well, so I'll keep fooling around with him when I'm in the mood and not much more.
0 -
Most players are bad.
However, every once in a while the mmr system works. I got to play against the best Survivors on Xbox and I did pretty damn well.
Why are you so against the possibility that you possibly misjudged Knight?
0 -
He really thrives in the whole, "I want to win at any cost" sort of mindset that is prevalent in comp and in I suppose more importantly, in me.
He tunnels easily, deals with bodyblocks easily, can proxy effectively and can hold a horrific three-gen. That makes his macro gameplay extremely hard to deal with for the average player. I've found that even experienced Survivors like Oso or Brice have issues with him too
0 -
Wait, you actually get hooks? SEVEN of them? Meanwhile I get games with only 3 hooks on average, 2 of those during endgame usually.
On a sidenote, I haven't touched this game since two whole weeks. There's hardly any reason to; rehashing old content as login-rewards doesn't do it for me and celebrating the chinese new year event one week in advance doesn't seem that thrilling to me either.
Everytime I look up DbD content creators I'm instantly reminded of why I stopped playing this game outside of tome related events. There's no casual enjoyment to be extracted from playing DbD, at least not for me. Abyssmal map design has to be the main contributor to all my frustration.

Weird, that's not even remotely what I said. I said Hag is unfun to play against. As though that's some kind of hot take?
0 -
Yes. And the most likely reason why someone would find a roaming Hag unfun to play against is...?
