Communication Concerning Bugged Archive Challenges
There are several archive challenges that are bugged, tome 4 quick thinking, tome 6 self preservation, and tome 9 out isn't an option are the ones I've personally struggled with. I've checked back on various bug reports only to see them go dead after months, even the acknowledged ones.
Would there be a way for the team to give us some communication about these? I know there's a lot of frustration on the bug reporting threads concerning the challenges, and I think just a word that we're being heard would be helpful. Additionally if there was some official list of bugged challenges I think that would not only be encouraging toward those of us trying to complete old archives, but it would also probably prevent duplicate bug reports. I've noticed it can be really difficult to keep track of which report thread is the most viewed/oldest/most likely to gain the attention of those who could fix it. I often find myself searching for the threads again only to be met with several threads concerning the same bugged challenge.
I know fixing old tome challenges isn't top priority, but it's really disheartening for those of us trying to 100% the archives and get all the lore to see an acknowledge report from the summer still not fixed in the winter. Some kind of ETA would go a long way I think.

This, 100%. All we're asking is to have a couple of challenges fixed. We're not asking to change how the game works. I'm so tired of this.

If it's working as intended, then they need to reword it to make it clearer what needs to happen. I used no way out, killed three survivors and let the fourth get hatch. The exit gates were never opened and yet it did not complete for me. All it says is to use no way out and prevent the exit gates from being opened.
As well, if it's fine, then someone needs to let the people in the bug reports know, because I'm not the only one having this issue. There are more than one report concerning it, at least one dating back to March 2022 with current comments supporting the fact that it's bugged.
Edit: Unless it was just recently fixed. I did make this post on January 4th.

Could be tied to the fact that if you gave hatch and all 5 gens weren't done, the perk doesnt actually activate because the doors dont get powered.
In the match I got it I did close hatch, but found the last survivor before they actually had a chance to touch the door, so the countdown never started.

Were you able to complete the challenge recently? Because if so, I'll definitely give it another try and make sure the doors are at least powered. (It just felt bad because maybe one gen at max was done and three people were dead.)
I understand that the point of the challenge is to have the perk be the reason the doors don't get opened, but no other challenge works that way. I can play Ghostface or scratched mirror Myers and get challenges that say something like "Hit 3 survivors while undetectable while using Tinkerer" or the same thing but with Dark Devotion. And those complete just fine regardless of if the hits were done while those perks' undetectable was applied.

I did it last weekend on the 20th.

Managed to get it just now by doing what you said: closed the hatch and then killed the last person. I have no idea if it now works by just killing all four before the gates are powered. It would be nice though that if it is a requirement that they reword it to include that the gates must be powered.
Thank you for your help and patience with this though! I really appreciate it!

Well, the good news is that at least all of the ones I mentioned have been fixed. I was able to complete all three (though it's very possible the tome 9 one wasn't bugged but just had very specific requirements not made clear by the challenge description).
Funny thing is though, my post still stands. We received no information regarding these challenges in the patch notes. There were other challenges mentioned in the fixes, but these were not among them. I wouldn't have known the locker challenges were fixed had it not been for looking back here at the original bug reports and seeing people overjoyed that they're working now. So I still stand by my post: we need more communication with bugs like this.
