Eruption..

Was taking your comment seriously until the sass at the end. What does that even mean? I'm unable to think outside the solo queue box? Solo q it's statistically the most difficult role to play so why should I have to even think about thinking outside the box in the first place? I don't want an easy ride, I just want to play a game that I paid for. Please do enlighten me.

Unless I missed a post, the most recent perk statistics we have from BHVR are from September 15, 2022 (it's in the general news section too, link at the bottom). The top 10 killer perks include NOED and Thana from that post, so it's clearly outdated at this point. Remember when Thana was everywhere right after the 6.1 patch until they nerfed it? Yeah, that's that data.
Or are you referring to some third party site that only includes data from user uploads? You haven't provided a link to what you're referencing, but since you seem to be claiming we have a percentage for anything but the top 3 perks I highly doubt it's the official data.
And given that experience is subjective, and subject to region, MMR, and time of day, then yeah. It's actually possible that 80% of someone's games could have a single, meta defining perk in them during a play session or two.
And here's the BHVR post I mentioned. The kill stats given in October made no mention of perks, only killers.

Nope, there’s nothing wrong with playing the 3 gen game and it’s in fact essential to win against good teams/players.

While I feel Pop was over nerfed I don't think it's useless really. The others you mentioned were definitely gutted though. Hopefully Eruption gets a treatment similar to my suggestion but I'm certainly not banking on it.

Sure!
Tbh, I was sassing in jest. What could anyone gleam from 'think outside the soloQ box"? I'm just saying I've adapted to the perk as soloQ, and since there's three tabs for saving builds, I'm sure you can spare one! So try one of these, I'll throw ya two.
1: Run Empathy for starters. The information it gives is almost unmatched, especially against Eruption. The rest of your build can be whatever.
2: Open handed and Bond are also great, but to a lesser extent vs Eruption. If Eruption isn't in play, this is more useful than option 1 as your team mates also receive Open handed's buff.
Seriously, not trolling. These are just two ways to say F Eruption that have worked for me. GL in the fog.

I do also need to ask... as I don't want it in my search history: What is a codswallop? lol

I thought Pop was okay coming out of 6.1.0, but after some experimentation...wow is this perk really niche now.

Just bait it out.

Eruption should just cover the gen instead of applying the Incapacitated status effect. Then it'd be fine.

Goodness, some of you Survivors are the biggest complainers ever....

@Tommy_n8 Plz come back! <3
Suggestions in a few places and they're just ignored. Thus, it literally is complaining to complain. 'I'm important, hear me!' Attention seeking at its finest. Let it continue!
Also, Nerf Eruption Incapacitate a bit. I know I can play around it but the dbd community (and my 3 rando team mates) can't, at least not reliably. Eruption as a soloQ usually means its gg from my personal experience. Usually its me getting hatch because again, no one can play around this perk. At this point, I want it nerfed just so people can stfu about it.
Also, I just mentioned it affecting only SoloQ. I try not to do that. Be it as it may, swf's still can get wrecked by this perk, which is fine. Right? It won't affect swf's as MUCH, but it still functions well enough.
Now, this should be good. :)

I went against several Eruptions yesterday. One of my counters was to let the generator go before a hook. (And generally trying to be aware of the match and when a teammate is about to get downed. Keeping an eye on things helps.)
I've been bitten a few times but it's nothing special.
I don't get the drama.

Worst perk ever designed.

Shame of you for playing soloq, find friends and play on comms

This is a great suggestion and should be implemented immediately.
Letting go before a hook counters Pain Res, not Eruption.

Points number two and three on:
Are what I'm talking about.

Eruption triggers when a survivor enters the dying state (point two, specifically, in your own link). There's no requirement for a survivor to be hooked, in fact they could be left as a slug with no hooks occurring at all from the down.
Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, on the other hand, is partially countered by letting go of a gen when a survivor is hooked.

Eruption is great - it actually forces me to not play the game so I don't procrastinate on actual important things I need to do.

I stand corrected. Oh you are right. I was still releasing the gen before the hook though. Pain Resonance may have been in play because in the most memorable game the gens was "exploding" when the killer hooked.
Nowadays I'm always checking end games for Eruption and Call of Brine. In that match he had Eruption, not CoB. (And most likely PR, that I didn't check for)
In the end, that makes it just easier than what I thought. (And I'll still release before a hook, Eruption isn't the only annoying perk out there.)

I'm in low MMR so no killers have Eruption.

If the killer has the time to kick gens then survivors aren't applying enough pressure. All time spent going to and kicking a gen is free repair time on every other gen. Stop cleansing totems and looting chests and do a gen.
