Anyone else loving the knight buffs?
He was playable before, but now being able to go for some prediction attacks is just amazing.
I don't feel obligated to run map of the realm every single match anymore because I can actually drop a guard on someone without them trying to dodge the orb the entire time.
Super oppressive in the 3v1, super oppressive at basement and at 3 gens. Easy to play, what is not to like?
Sometimes you just want to camp and tunnel some survivors without having to put much effort into it

I like the change, but he's a weird killer.
Assume anything I don't mention I either like or am resigned to.
- Some of his addons are really meh, others are straight up not working properly.
- Summons are...I honestly have no idea how their pathing works. Sometimes you can completely counter them by dropping a pallet, sometimes not. Sometimes you'll loop one around a bush until it expires, sometimes it'll turn around and hit you.
- He's probably a touch too good at camping/tunneling, which is going to inflate his kill rates.
- Why can I get stunned in ghost form?

I honestly haven´t noticed an improvement. Sure, he gets a small speed boost. But holding w against him is still the strongest tactic.
Are there killers that are not oppressive in a 3vs1 or basement situation?

Well I think now that map of the realm isn't mandatory anymore you can use a lot of his other addons. The "summon x guard 2x in a row" addons are probably very good depending on what playstyle you are going for.
I haven't gotten around to the window blocking one yet but something tells me it will be outrageously strong on midwich where you can block the windows that connect two large rooms together and completely trap people inside with a guard while you come in from the main door.
Call to arms is disgusting now. You can drop guards straight on top of people completely outside of your terror radius. It's probably the best addon? That or increased hunt duration.
Yes plenty of M1 and low mobility killers can still lose in a basement or 3v1 situation. Knight basically cannot.
Most killers can't even realistically guard the basement and with basekit BT it's not much better than regular hooks for them. Knight can literally stand at the top of the stairs and drop guards on people 40m away with call to arms. So he is potentially the best basement camper in the game now

Best change is the orb disappearing with distance.
Enjoying catching survivors by surprise at gens and getting guaranteed hunts.
Still a weak Killer but feels smoother.

Good changes but I still just find him boring to play as and against. Plays like a slightly different artist

I'm not sure how you're having a good time with this killer but he's still superunderwhelming to play as. His guard AI remains questionable and mostly unreliable. Survivors still are holding W to get away from his summon circle, he's pretty much unplayable without the map addon. They need to make it basekit so that he finally can pick something else.

Since there are plenty. Could you name a couple of them, please?

The window blocking addon does absolutely nothing because by the time you've navigated through the window the survivor has already left the loop. Nobody sticks around a window long enough for it to matter.
Map of the realm is mandatory if you want your summons to do literally anything. Without it they're just blind and survivors can play around their radius with line of sight blockers.
Your theory crafting about a knight patrolling basement is nonsense. If he's drawing a max path you've got a few seconds to just run down there and save. If he's not then you still run down there and save. Honestly doctor camps better than he does, if you really wanna subject yourself to staring at a survivor for five minutes.

I think the Knight is a bad killer who doesn't excel at the design the developers intended of him. So he's played in a camping/tunneling kind of way, along with being lucky at non-connected tiles to get a hit for free, though that's nothing unique to him when there's countless anti-loop killers.
So then we're left with, well, he sure is great at getting a hunt at a gen on an unsuspecting survivor. Yes, you bought the gen some time, but unless you happen to have an assassin who doesn't slowly detect, they'll W away and be right back where they left off. But I suppose you might've bought the gen 15-20 seconds

He’s still terrible. They buffed a play style that is unviable and you wouldn’t want to do anyway. Even if you max distanced the orb right on top of them to get the hunt faster you still aren’t getting a hit. What did you gain? Now you’re an m1 killer with no power in order to just waste a little bit of a survivors time? Pointless. He has way too easy counter play that isn’t even rewarding. His skill ceiling is laying on the floor as he has no nearly no skill expression. Your skill cap is putting the AI down into a hunt and then what? Pincer the survivor with the two? Even IF you happen to be in a corner where you can do this and they don’t just hold w it takes way longer to get the hit than other killers would. He’s just way too weak, too much counter play, addon dependent for starting a hunt with most his addons being trash anyway, and just flawed in design. Guards getting hit too easy would be oppressive and with no skill from you and guards that don’t get hits are a near useless power. He needs lots of buffs to not be terrible but he even more so needs a functionality rework since he’s badly designed and won’t be fixed with just numbers

In terms of kit design, the Knight is by far the worst in DBD history (only other valid answer is OG Legion). He highlights the most boring aspects of the game for both roles simultaneously and nothing changed in terms of the community's perception of him. Like I said on ScottJund's video last night he's nothing more than a pseudo-RTS gimmick for people that wanna feel clever with the guards. There's nothing clever or skillful about his kit though, you literally just drop a guard down one lane and pinch the other with the Knight or you just hold W which a 10 year old can also do. Both players hold W until the Survivor reaches a deadzone or a safe corner tile where they still get hit no matter what. Knight fans will act as if people are just missing an undiscovered skill-ceiling for him, but the reality is that there is none. I've tried every credible build combo on him, I nearly completed the grandmaster adept challenge on him, I've looped sweaty players using him since the PTB, There's just little to no skill expression for either player when the Knight is involved

I think @ScottJund 's video was good but there's a bit more nuance to the criticism of the Knight.
As an example, the Knight does have skill expression as in macro strategy, listening to footsteps to drop a guard directly on a survivor (even pre 6.5 you could get a hit on a survivor with the Jailer or Carnifex just by being super close with your orb), mind gaming and predicting survivors.
The practical issue with the Knight is that all those skills can be put to better effect on other Killers (eg. map disruption on Artist, predicting survivors correctly on Nurse, locating survivors by sound accurately on Spirit, any of the stronger Killers for mindgames, etc). As well, Scott's evaluation is based on chase skills and there are many Killers that chase better than the Knight. By those criteria, yes, the Knight is a failure.
There are other playstyles, though, such as map control, etc and the softcap is low enough that those playstyles, while not optimal, are possible and the Knight can play those well.
As well, from an entertainment perspective, the most important part is if players have fun. There are people who enjoy playing the Knight. From a business perspective, the impact on profitability is what determines success. I don't think anyone outside of BHVR has any data on that right now.
I also don't think BHVR would release another Killer as strong as the Nurse or Blight as they would be hesitant to invite the community uproar. If that's true, you can't really fairly evaluate a new Killer on whether it's really strong or not. Whether it is too weak for a player to have fun would be a fairer criteria. If we were to base a Killer's success solely on strength there's no reason for anyone to play anything but Nurse or Blight. However, fun is still the goal and strength is just a tool to acheive fun.
So, overall I agree that the Knight still needs work, but as one of the people who do enjoy playing Knight I would define the Knight more as still needing work than a failure. I understand completely why others would disagree but I have fun with the Knight, it's a video game, and I'm just looking for entertainment and not anything deeper.

I like how that bug where he can grab survivors off pallets/windows/gens/totems from a pretty big distance is still in the game. It feels like telekinesis.

Wild take. You know you can pre-emptively draw the path through a window in an area you expect survivors to be at, right? Say you get discordance at a gen, and that gen is near a jungle gym. So at 30-40m away (depending on your addons) you drop the orb and fly it through the window and onto the gen. Then they are chased by a guard and the window is blocked. It is not that hard?
Same with you thinking him camping the basement is bad. I actually think that's crazy considering he is the only killer who can stand at the top of the stairs and still effectively pressure gens. Game awareness is a thing, you don't have to draw the path when a survivor is right there primed to save.
Every single M1 killer who has to hit survivors twice can trivially be basement dove. Key difference with Knight is he can basically take 1 survivor out the game, so even with the entire team alive he can still make a basement save only a trade even if they play it well. While pressuring gens at the same time. Bubba can stand at the top of the stairs and kill people but he can't pressure gens so he is on a fixed timeframe to camp people to death in
There is almost nothing skillful about survivor, like at all, in comparison to killer. By design 75% of your gameplay is holding M1. And not even holding M1 anymore, it's more like 75% of your gameplay is AFKing and hitting spacebar every now and then.
I don't see why every character needs you to ooze skill to play them

Ohh so this is one of those threads where you say how Strong the recently buffed killer is, in an attempt to prevent further buffs.
Gotcha.

Idk why you're criticizing Survivor gameplay just because I said the truth about the Knight lol. He's the lord of influencing W-Key gameplay and if you really enjoyed playing Killer then I don't see how you think that's a W. I'm pretty sure most players on both sides across all skill brackets would agree he needs more work

Yes! I don’t feel forced to just plop guards down at loops anymore and I’ve been trying to get a lot more creative with his power. He’s actually really fun!

You get stunned whilst creating a patrol path because he technically functions identically to Spirit in that aspect, who can also get stunned out her power if she gets hit by a pallet whilst phasing.
