BBQ Vs Distortion dying state.
So BBQ allows the killer to see my aura while I’m in the dying state crawling. But if I have tokens still from distortion, why doesn’t 1 get taken away to avoid the aura? Instead distortion doesn’t work but BBQ still does and killer on you like white on rice. I feel like distortion should still count while in that phase as long as you still have a token. 🤷♂️

Maybe to prevent Deerstalker from quickly eating all the tokens? I don't know for sure, that's just a guess.

Because it says so on the perk.
Maybe what @sizzlingmario4 is correct, maybe because it would waste the other effect. I don't know, but I feel like the current distortion doesn't need this change.

Ok but it BBQ works that way in the dying state why does anyone want to use deerstalker>

You need to be outside the range for the hook for your aura to be shown on bbq, and deerstalker you don't, and doesn't rely on hooking someone and has no time limit to an aura. Say, I lose my slug - you aren't showing up on bbq, deerstalker I can still find you but bbq I might not if you are not in the range that bbq procs or I didn't look around fast enough and didn't see your aura.
edit: also, deerstalker is such a niche perk, and it's kinda rare you might even see it.
