Favourite perk/item combos to use.
As a complement to someone else's post, what combos do you like to use? I included items and addons to make it more interesting, but here are some of mine:
- Tinkerer + Grim embrace: A weird combo which has a weird synergy. Using tinkerer to protect gens can get you early, easy downs and leave the survivors with many gens on high progress without finishing them. This comes at the downside of survivors being able to quickly finish multiple gens in a row and not having the benefits of tinkerer later on, this is where grim embrace comes in. Using the info and stealth from tinkerer you work towards your 4 stacks, as people get ready to finish the gens you interrupted you block them all with grim embrace. It's the idea of a strong perk which does more early and one that does more later which is fun, like working towards an ultimate ability. I like this on Wesker as his unique combo of chase, mobility and information works well with these perks, could maybe work well on demogoron too but not a killer I massively care about so I couldn't say.
- Fogwise + Toolbox (any): Filthy gen rusher I know but let me explain, I am innocent. Fogwise is a very powerful information perk with the downside of skill checks being inconsistent, by using even a brown toolbox you can give yourself more skill checks giving an opportunity to force fogwise to trigger when you'd think it's useful. It's an interesting combo to use as the nature of toolboxes makes it limited but having control other this information leads to unique decision-making. So officer you must believe me this commodious toolbox with streetwise + built to last was for fogwise I don't even know how this hyperfocus got into my build as well I had no intention of harming any killers tonight.
- Hex: plaything + face mask (Jigsaw's Baptism addon): Plaything is a cool perk that I decided ultimately isn't for me in most situations. I know a lot of people love this perk for it's stealth and encouraging hooking unique survivors but its effect isn't for me. However, on the one killer with stealth who struggles to down survivors and can tunnel well when smart, I like it. Face mask gives the survivor blindness so they can't see the hex aura leading to this dichotomy where they struggle to do boxes from being oblivious but have to find the totem so they're not oblivious which is hard while blind. You can add rule set 2 to add to this, can't see boxes while the trap is inactive, so they can't do totem until you do the box and can't do the box until you do gen and probably need to heal before you jump back on the gen. I liked to call this "house chores" as it gave the survivors a lot of objectives but is more of a gimmick than an actual strategy.
A bit of a long explanation from me but I like doing these, even a shorter note on your favourite combos would be very nice to hear whether that's perks, items, addons or powers.

I like Inner Focus + Reactive healing. I also run Auto Didactic and a med kit to heal others, and myself of course.
This build can be very nasty if played correctly and will let you take multiple hits for others in chases.

Distortion + Wiretap, I'll get to see the Killer's aura, but they won't see mine 😈 (<< that might have been my inner GF talking 👀)
Starstruck and Mad Grit against SWF's, it's just too funny when they try to take hits/sabbo.

Bamboozle + Brutal Strength- I like that feeling of being a juggernaut and not really caring what survivors throw in my way.
Potential Energy + Repressed Alliance- Running these together makes me feel like I'm in a lovecraft story and can access eldritch powers.

I run Blast Mine + Residual Manifest. Don't even care about the flashlight usually, but it's really great when the killer is running BBQ and they down me right by a generator and take the time to kick it before hooking. Bam, no BBQ value baby.

Resurgence + Solidarity, while rather niche, I enjoy the feeling of healing the person who unhooked me, and we both get healed to full in the process.
And then my main build of Red Herring/Blast Mine/Head on/Flashbang, the adrenaline rush I get from when everything lines up and I get these perks off in succession.
As far as killer goes, one of my personal favorites is Rancor + Nemesis for obvious reasons. Add Furtive Chase for some extra roulette nonsense.

Surveillance and Oppression... it's not as good as others but it's underrated
Corrupt and Whispers... go toward the blocked Gens until Whispers activates
Surveillance and Whispers... One for Gens and the other for Survivors
Now put all of those perks together... Oppression, Surveillance, Corrupt and Whispers
Plus hearing a Gen being worked on the walking up to it like "What'cha dooooiiinng" is hilarious

Surveillance is a nice perk, lots of nice combos. I like using it with the Freddy addon which also makes gens louder to make them very loud, or knight who can easily tag gens from a distance if he needs to. Tried corrupt + whispers on Onryo and was quite nice on that killer, being able to teleport around with it and find people thanks for the suggestion.
I often run distortion with my mentioned fogwise toolbox combo to become the info master myself, certainly feels very crafty to use just like ghost face.
I've personally not considered that first one but sounds nice tbh. Rancour roulette can be fun too.
